ParticipantI would try to add more features into Way of the Samurai. At least continue were it originally left off, and not do that Western crap. Add the story line much longer as well.

ParticipantI always wanted to create a 3d RPG devoted to 3k era. Because of my strong Wei bias the main characters would be the Xiahous (Dun, Yuan, Ba). Because of the incredibly huge gameplay 3 characters is more than enough for the game.
1. The main engine is Pirates and WOS-like: You roam around the whole China. Chen Liu, Luo Yang, whatever you want. You can attack whoever you want and whenever you want. You must sleep and rest and eat unless you wanna see a gameover screen two soon. Absolutely NO to any sort of radar or minimap. Day by day goes on until you die.
2. Time goes on. Events take place in various locations around China EVERY day. Meaning hundreds of subquests aside from the major storyline which follows the novel.
3. Difficulty – extremely hard and demands a lot of brainwork although tips will be provided. No easy fodder for leveling up like in other rpg games or a bandwagon of items. In order to succeed in events you have to be in the right place in the right time.
Here’s a example – defeating Lu Bu in a duel at Hu Lao. You will always lose/won’t be allowed to participate if you don’t complete/unlock the several events that will give you favourable situation and skills.
-Befriending Li Su and learning a skill1 from him that will allow you to block Lu Bu’sattack1 later
-Befriending Wang Yun and learning a skill2 from him so you can block Lu Bu’s attack2 later
-Sneaking in the Ding Yuan’s camp on the night he was killed and watch his death. That’ll allow you to learn block3 technique
-Convince both Cao Cao and Yuan Shao to send Liu Bei away on the day of the duel (so only Zhang Fei and Guan Yu will fight Lu Bu)
-During the duel interfere only when Zhang Fei and Guan Yu have less than 30% stamina left
-Be appointed a vanguard by Cao Cao and Yuan Shao before the battle of Hu Lao and thus you’ll be allowed to watch/interfere in a duel. That requires you bribing the remnants of the yellow turbans in a village1 2 days before the duel, so they will attack Yan Liang and Wen Chou and don’t allow them to join the allied forces in time. You must also have more fame than anyone else in the allied main camp.
-Never ever encounter Diao Chan in the game before the duel (as Lu Bu’s jealousy will raise his critical hits chances to 100%)
-Have full stamina before the duel
-Have certain attacks unlocked in your arsenal. A1 is learned from Cao Cao if you and Yuan are the first to arrive after he issues the draft. A2 is learned from patrol missions in Chen Liu if you manage to kill 50 thugs in a row without allowing them ever to block your attack. A3 is learned from watching a friendly duel between Yan Liang and Wen Chou. A4 is unlocked after a friendly duel with Xiahou Yuan.
4.Battles. Battles are real time.
5.Weapons, items and etc. Weapons require resource hunting, time to forge and also several stats demands physical power. If you slack the stats will go down and you won’t be able to use the weapon. At some point you’ll be able to command your own unit of men and train them and tech them in battle tactics so there’s gonna be lots of strategy scrolls around. Learning lots of different skills that allow you to ride an elephant or control a catapult and so on.Items are limited to what you can lift and that’s not gonna be much. The idea used in MGS Snake Eater is a good one here.
6. Governing. Cao Cao will appoint you as a governor at some stage assuming you don’t slack a lot before and that’s where more responsibility comes from and more fun. Trading, weapons development, drafting skilled swordsmen and even betraying Wei (although you will most likely perish in this case) – whatever you want.
Well, that’s what I’ve been thinking about.

Participantnice, XiahouJia, I like your idea. Guys, this is kind of what I want: fleshed out ideas.
I always wish I could greatly expand on oblivion, you know, more places, more variations in environment, much more quests, more races to interact with, and improved combat and also add prince of persia elements along with assassin’s creed elements to it.
I also wish I could make a police quest game which takes place in the future, so that robots and aliens are in the game as well and the environment is more urban. The game would be kinda like blade runner or snatcher for those of you who have played either. The shooting scenes will be like blade runner. Oh yeah, and you’d be an undercover robot rather than a human.
I’d love to make the sequel to oddworld: stranger’s wrath which is The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Clot, which unfortunaltely was in development but was then cancelled. The gameplay would be just like uncharted: drake’s fortune with elements of fear effect and metal gear put in.
Another game I’d expand is Ultima 8. That game had so much potential. For those of you who played, I think you know how it could be improved.
