ModeratorQuote:But beating on guys with 25 INT and 52 STR is not going to be much of a challenge!?52 / 25 is worse than Song Yong I think so not *that* bad. But perhaps some weaker opponents could have some other attributes that make them challenging. Like a tactic that nobody else knows yet… Or perhaps they found a weapon that is better than anything you have. Or high AC… Or…???

ModeratorAnd Hua Xiong.
Its the early guys that are more spread out. I got a recommendation on the-scholars from Xiahou Mao:

ParticipantIs there a representation of the Nanman king? I know they played a big part against Wu.

ModeratorWell, Shamoke helped out in the battle of xiaoting, but that's about it; he wasn't much of a king (seeing as he only ruled "five valleys" in Wuling commandery) — and given its location (the same place that JIN XUAN, CONQUEROR OF WORLDS ruled, mind you), he may even be non-nanman. He's mentioned in Lu Xiun's SGZ bigraphy as a hu (non-chinese barbarian), but that also includes the qiang, xiongnu, xianbei, and wuhuan!
Achilles Fang translated the bolded part as this:
“…he [Lu Xun] attacked [the Shu-Han troops] with fire and destroyed them. With this one stroke the thing was accomplished. He [Lu Xun] beheaded Zhang Nan 張南, Feng Xi 馮習 and Shamoke 沙摩柯, King 王 of Hú 胡, as well as others and destroyed over forty of their encampments.”

ParticipantI was going to bring up Sha'moke as well, but I figured if Meng Huo was in then he probably would be too.

ModeratorSomewhere I was going to put Shamoke in, just haven't yet, and now I hope I don't forget!
Anyways, in continuation with our "cheaper than dirt" officer series, here is another one:

Makes sense. The original DOAE did this a bit as well.

ModeratorShamoke's only real interaction was at the battle of xiaoting/yiling, so it's either there or nowhere.
As for Wutugu, he wasn't that good, but he did have high defense (but highly flammable) armor; if I was including him I would give him lower strength, higher armor than anyone in the chapter (including the chapter boss!), and extra-low int.
The problem, though, is that wu and wutugu never interacted. Historically it was limited to Sun Quan officially declaring Yong Kai grand administrator of Yongchang (which wasn't even adjacent to Wu!), and novelwise they didn't interact at all! So unless you plan on changing history (say, by having Wu continue west to conquer Shu after Xiaoting), it may be best to outright drop the entire nanman brouhaha. Sorry.

ModeratorActually… you're pretty much on track with how I've planned out the mod :) After Yi Ling (or what I can amount to such with the games limitations), you will begin your march towards conquering the rest of the map. Conquering the Nanman will be *optional*.
In this mod, I have left things more open and less linear in terms of having 'non-mandatory' but super hard boss fights that net some pretty neat bonuses in terms of items or party members. I'll just keep those surprises to myself until the release, but at any rate…
