Hi, I’m obviously new and I have a question. But first, let me thank you for the detailed walk trough.
I have a problem. I’m at the point where I have to talk to Nakil about attacking Ladzaa again. I’ve recruited everyone possible up to that point. Except Muro. That Demon hunting quest just doesn’t appear. Should I have done it before helping Porpos-kin or what?
Anyway, I couldn’t find an appropriate place for asking this so I opened a thread in hope of getting to the bottom of this, without having to start over the game.
I’d like to know if I have to do it before another attack on Ladzaa. The same goes for chef Wustum. His quest didn’t appear either and I think I have to do that one while Asad is till at Royal Plaza.
May 8, 2009 at 3:51 pm #36440Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterHmm…I can’t imagine he’s missable. A lot of times during the game you have to advance the plot for certain quests / scenes to open up. Another issue could be that you have a request already open. After initially traveling through Giney Valley to Tehah Village the Muro request opens up. If you don’t have another request going on then you probably just have to advance the plot and check back with Moana.
You’re right about Wustum-. After doing the Coastal Cave / Naineneis request against the Order, you can then go to Tehah Village during Sprout season to talk to the innkeeper to test some soup and meet Wustum (might not have to be Sprout season but that’s when I did it). Now make sure Asad is not in your party, and then talk to Moana with your quests clear and you should see ‘find the chef’ from Shairah.

Hmm…I can’t imagine he’s missable. A lot of times during the game you have to advance the plot for certain quests / scenes to open up. Another issue could be that you have a leader request already going (like if you signed up for attack ladzaa or something else). After initially traveling through Giney Valley to Tehah Village the Muro request opens up. If you don’t have another request going on then you probably just have to advance the plot and check back with Moana.

For more details just go to the 108 starbearers walkthrough below and ctrl + f ‘wustum’ and ‘muro’, though I have a feeling you have seen the guide already huohu

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingMay 8, 2009 at 4:25 pm #36442RazhParticipantYeah, posting a question in a forum wasn’t my first choice. :)
Thanks for the response, wasn’t so late at all.
I did trigger the event in which I tasted soup, when I was returning to castle after recruiting Porpos. After that, I recruited all the optional characters beside Muro and Wustum. So, everything is fine except those two quests.
Finding a chef quest probably won’t appear any more, if it hasn’t yet, because after attacking Ladzaa again, well, you know what happens. Don’t want to spoil to someone.
I used an older save after I figured I missed Muro and Wustum.
As far as Muro goes, the only thing I had to do to trigger the quest is pass through Gineh valley, if I remember correctly. Maybe it will come later, but that would still leave me without Wustum.
Yeah, I’m a collection freak.
I’ve already decided that I’m going to restart when my finals are done. Playing on emulator, I can double the game speed, and I haven’t really gotten that far.
So, I guess it’s better to try to recruit these guys before actually making an alliance with Porpos-kin.
May 8, 2009 at 4:30 pm #36443Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterYea with the missable characters it helps to just recruit them as soon as possible. At least you have saves along the way :) that helps.
Playing on an emulator and doubling the game speed…I love that feature on the 8bit-16bit emulators, it really works well for ds emulator? That would make guide writing easier to be able to burn through at a faster pace especially since the main character walks so slowly

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingMay 8, 2009 at 4:40 pm #36444RazhParticipantYeah, usually I only use it in the boring dungeons sometimes. I don’t see why I should suffer and waste time like that.
It works pretty well. I’m using No$gba 2.6, and I have an add on called NDS2xGL2 which makes the windows bigger. Big enough to play normally anyway. If that’s not enough, you can always change to lower desktop resolution.
Suikoden works excellent and you can double the speed with "Realtime, Auto x2" setting.
It doesn’t work that well in all games, but I guess there’s a workaround for any problem. Emuforums helps a lot.
The only problem is that save states don’t work, but it’s not much of a problem. Except in situations like mine. :)
May 8, 2009 at 5:55 pm #36445Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterHmm interesting, I didn’t know DS emulators were so refined. I may have to look into that, I’ve at least seen the Tierkreis ROM around.
But no save states? You can’t play the game in one sitting? Or can you in-game save and pick that back up but just no instant-saved-states?
Thanks for your knowledge, by the way..

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingMay 8, 2009 at 9:02 pm #36446RazhParticipantNo problem. Nice to give something back.
Yeah, save states don’t work. Actually, you can save a state but when you try to load, emulator crashes. You can only save in game. As if you’re playing a regular DS.
I’m not sure about other emulators though, but I think save states are general problem with DS emulators.
I forgot to say, a nice machine really helps.
Here’s the link for minimum and requirements. http://forums.ngemu.com/no-gba-discussion/107062-no-gba-minimum-requirements-2d-3d-there-any.html
But of course, the higher the better. A current mid tier machine is probably enough for any game to work properly. After that it’s only a matter of using right settings or plugins for each game.
May 5, 2012 at 8:36 pm #36447ShiYumiParticipantLol I doubt you're still playin this game but after I ran into the same problem as you I was searchin around and thought I missed the chef too but later found out for myself that if you return to Tehah Village and talk to the inn keeper she will tell you that soldiers came to look for him and he ran off toward the mountains. Anyway ^^ just posting here incase anyone else comes searchin or mayb you made a guide and wanna update it
May 6, 2012 at 2:44 am #36448sonic.penguinModeratorThe only thing I ever did involving Suikoden was hearing some of the music and thinking it was pretty spiffy :P My game time more revolved around Destiny of an Emperor and ROTK, hence, the modding
May 6, 2012 at 5:12 am #36449Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterHey ShiYumi. Haven't played Tierkreis in a while, I still remember it for the most part. You probably saw the guide. So you're saying we can't miss Wustum? It hasn't happened to me because I always recruit him right away. But I'm pretty sure I've had questions about people missing out on Wustum on the Suikoden Tierkreis Guide pages.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingMay 6, 2012 at 9:19 pm #36450ShiYumiParticipantAs far as I can tell you can't miss him cuz I didn't even use the quest to get to him. Once I was finally able to accept the Find the Chef quest, I went to talk to Asad in my HQ and he told me to just give up on it. I'm not sure if you go even further into the story whether or not you can miss him ^^
May 6, 2012 at 9:41 pm #36451Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterHmm. Is the Magic Kingdom still around?
