Yea it’s a great series. It’d be nice if we at least got some word about Suikoden VI!

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingTo be honest I only own 1 & 2. A friend of mine used to play part 3 a lot, but I hadn’t known there was even 4 or 5 and expecting 6. Guess I’m out of loop on some things. Are the others similar? improvements? or generally the same with just different or more characters and storyline?
Ah…in my opinion you’d be disappointed in the later Suikoden’s…the first two take the cake, in my opinion. And 1 and 2 are very similar to eachother as you know…
then with three they decided to let you have 6 characters but you had to group them. This was lame. But the trinity site system made up for it sort of…there were 3 main characters and a few others that you could control and see things from their perspective. A unique twist…plus…I loved the ducks and lizards.
IV was kind of a let down…story / characters were kind of lame, difficulty wasn’t too bad unless you were fighting an Angel Hairball…and the ship travel was horrendous.
I really loved V when I played it but it’s been hard to do a second playthrough because it’s so damn long notably the storyline parts. I kind of want to replay a Suikoden but I think it’d be 1-3 if I did so.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingWhich one was the one with Hugo and company? I loved that one, and completed all three storylines. As LYS says, I and II were the best. There was one in the middle somewhere — it was dark, plain, bland — I didn’t care for it at all. It was a blight on the series.
Yep Hugo, Lucia and the Karayan’s were Suikoden III. That was a much longer game…but a more fleshed out story and like we were saying, the Trinity Site System that allowed you to the three main character’s point of view.
Suiko III and V are good pickups I’d say, since you haven’t played them yet Nemix.
