Let’s wait and see if it comes or not.
I’ve nothing against the 360’s games. I just don’t like the console itself (I’m not a PS3 fanboy, I have a 360 Elite as well). I also hate 360 fanboys the most out of all fanboys because they’re so ignorant. They make up so much bullshit without doing a bit of research. Most of the stuff I hear is this: "Xbox 360 has the better games (true for the time being), better graphics (wrong), all the exclusive content (wrong again), better software and hardware (could never be more wrong), and most PS3 games are coming to 360 like MGS4 and FF13 (bullshit again, MGS4 would require 7 DVD’s on the 360). They also say the PS3 looks like a grill which is BS. In fact, the 360 looks like an old dell pc. And I’m sick of people (especially the 360 people) bashing the PS3 saying it copies everything. This guy did a good job of suppressing all the bullshit (though I disagree about the PSN not being a response to XBL):

No I never had that problem. Also, if one failed, that would be 7 or 6 (One of them is usually disabled).
Why I don’t like the 360 is for a number of reasons:
-Overheats fast (that’s why I have a fan blow on it constantly when I play), and it doesn’t warn you it’s overheating like the PS3. The PS3 warns you (light turns yellow) and turns off by itself from what I know.
-RROD. It hasn’t been fixed (GDC 2008, 360 bricks there). 360 elites (which are rip offs of PS3) brick as well. I’m afraid mine will, though so far, a couple of months and no problems.
-PS3 has better resolution.
-Games are all rip-offs, no originality. Now what does the PS3 have that’s original? Examples are like the mother of stealth games: Metal Gear, and LittleBigPlanet.
-Expensive peripheral (thankfully I don’t need HD DVD when I have a PS3) such as: HD DVD player (outdated and lost to Blu Ray), Wi Fi needs to be bought at a rather high price, and XBL (though it isn’t really expensive). PS3 comes with everything at a cheaper price than the 360 with all that peripheral.
-Glitchy as hell.
-If you don’t like the games on PS3, that’s your choice, But it does have a few good games now (resistance, uncharted, Unreal Tournament 3 (360 version will get less maps), and motorstorm). It’ll be getting much more games this year:
-MGS4
-LittleBigPlanet
-Haze
-Killzone 2
-Eight days
-FF13 and FF13 versus (let’s wait and see how well FF13 looks in the end)
-inFAMOUS
-Heavy Rain (or something like that).
-Resistance 2.
etc….do I need to say more? Because I can.
-PS3 has the much better hardware (look it up). All game developers need to do now is learn how to use it effeciently.
About my post above with the videos, Too Human’s music sounds like Halo 3’s music.
Also, what is the 360 getting other than those 4 games I mentioned?
-Mass Effect 2 might be multiplat, but let’s wait and see.
-Gears 2 is a definite AAA good game other than Ninja Gaiden 2, though the gameplay isn’t original at all.
-I don’t how Alan Wake is gonna do, but it’s anticipated.
-Banjo Kazooie 3, I don’t know how that’s gonna do. Definitely not AAA, though.

360 and PS3 both suck now imo. But I’d just rather have the winner of the last two console generations going forward than 360. Western RPG’s, FPS’, etc don’t do it for me. And Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon didn’t look interesting.
The most important thing for me as far as next gen consoles are concerned is Suikoden VI and where that goes (and when – probably years away still) FFXIII does look pretty shitty but we still haven’t even seen real gameplay footage of it yet, so that’s not enough to base it on. Plus it’s going to be so damn hugely popular that it will be a boon at LYS much like Final Fantasy XII is (still by far the most searched / hit game on this site, over 1400 hits alone from FFXII daily)

You think that only because there are no japanese turn based rpg’s.
I’m a gamer of every genre, not really a freak of RPG’s like most people here (no offense to anyone).
If that’s your case, then you should consider getting a wii.
FFXIII does look pretty shitty but we still haven’t even seen real gameplay footage of it yet, so that’s not enough to base it on.

Well I play sports games and DW and some Assassin’s Creed. It just doesn’t blow me away, nor does it seem like these next gen consoles are harnessing their power to it’s full potential (definitely the case for PS3)
Why get a Wii? It’s basically the same generation as PS2 and there aren’t many games that seem interesting to me (the Virtual Console is nice but so are free emulators / roms, and Opoona looks nice but I’m not going to buy a Wii to play it)

I will get a PS3 as soon as my tax stimulus check gets here, mostly for the blueray right now, but I am sure sony won’t let me down on the RPG stuff later
Yea that’s the thing I have a feeling RPG goodness will be reaching the PS3, it might take a little longer but it’ll get here, Playstation has been the dominant RPG producing console by far since the mid 90’s. RPG’s always lag behind on the older consoles like PSP DS and PS2 because they don’t need the top graphical capability’s to be successful

Unfortunately I don’t PLAY games for graphics. To me I still play the Avernum and Geneforge series on the PC and love them. Simple 16bit esque graphics seems to suit me better for rpg’s. Newer rpg’s while freaking awesome also seem to just be a chore to play. And yes I’m referring to Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, and Mass Effect. The flashy graphics seem to have drawn away from the main reason I use to play rpg’s, simplicity in terms of not a lot to learn, and story. I can’t harp enough on the story part but Phantasy Star IV, Final Fantasy 4 and 6 were basically the pre-cursors to the amazing rpg era of the playstation and saturn era.
I also love NIS games but there systems are starting to get annoying. I have no need to level up to 1000, to me thats just stupid and pointless. I think why I enjoyed Persona 3 so much was the way it was handled. It wasn’t that difficult a system and stayed fairly close to SMT1 and 2 as well as the first Persona. Anyway sorry for the longwinded rant I’m off to my Baseball Mogul 2k9 league.

That about sums up my feelings about newer RPG’s / older RPG’s.

Love RPGs because they tend to have better stories and focus on character development more then any other game. That said, after my surgery and when I get a job, I am getting a PS3, so any game recommendations would be appreciated.
