Some people have malfunctioning and glitchy PS2’s so I’m sure they would want them with better quality on the PS3.

Yeah my PS2 is acting glitchy when it runs PS1 games. And that’s pretty much what I use my PS2 for:)
In other news Grand Theft Auto IV is fun I just hate the soundtrack. I miss my 80’s screaming guitar riffs.

The MSX version of Metal Gear = Much better.
You should try the series, Lord. You might like it.
I’ve watched a lot of the first two as one of my good friend’s loves the series and used to play it in front of me all the time.
What is with the PSP metal gear I see around? Is that a compilation of the old ones?

Msx version of metal gear and Metal Gear 2 are a lot better than the NES ones.
I have an X360 and I don’t care what anyone says its just as durable as a PS3. My friend has now went through 2 PS3’s in 7 months. Theres 8 chip banks or whatever they’re called in it and 6 of the 8 need to work. Sony only requires 6 to work before they box it and ship it. His last one didn’t even work out of the box.
And yes the 360 has it’s problems, but hell it’s getting Atlus games now so woot!!
There’s a couple PSP Metal gear games. Two of them are some kind of card game (Metal Gear Ac!d or something) and the other one, MGS Portable Ops, is a sequel to MGS3. Don’t know if any of them are any good.

One nice thing about playing a PS2 game on the PS3 is that it is able to upscale and apply the picture properly to an HDTV, rather than playing it in a smaller blocky… block in the middle of the screen. I guess that is less of a concern for LCD owners, but if you have a Plasma you don’t want to log five hours a day playing FF XI like that.
Other than that, who knows?
(And most of those games work fine under emulation anyway…)

Don’t take it that way bud. I like the 360 just as much as the PS3. However the chip problem is rare, and usually one chip is disabled to avoid this. PS3’s failure rate is known to be .2% while the 360’s is 33.3%.

Yeah Metal Gear Ac!d 1 and 2 and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. The first 2 are a turn based card game, but still pretty fun. Think of the gameplay like the battles in ROTK.
Portable Ops is like any other MGS except you have a squad (you switch from one to another. The inactive ones hide in cardboard boxes). It’s also an online Metal Gear.

Well I’d have to think that your friend’s situation is rare, or at the very least it is a marginal number of PS3 owners who have issues compared to the Xbox360, like hua says.
Getting ATLUS games is always nice but PS3 has some atlus exclusives too like Disgaea 3 right. Plus they still put out their Persona games on PS2 so that’s a good sign for the future when Persona 5 maybe comes out for Ps3? I still have a hard time believing Persona 4 is gonna come out for PS2 – There have to be a really small amount of PS2 games produced at this point.

They are releasing the 80 GB backwards compatable PS3 with metalgear solid this summer so maybe it won’t be an issue, I would like to think that some developers could make lower end games for everyone to play and in PS2 format instead. That would be good for kids whos parents play games.
Hey James, do you own a PS3 and a Wii or just a Wii?
Also, I’m thinking of selling my PS3 to a friend to get this 80GB backwards compatible PS3 with MGS4. I’d love to download all those great PS2/PS1 games from PSN/PSstore on my PS3.
Viking is actually a pretty fun mindless romp and has pretty sweet Graphics. The story isn’t that bad and all and all it kinda feels like Berserker to me just not nearly as bloody:)(or the annoying camera)
Kingdom Under Fire:Circle of Doom is still getting the most playtime out of all my 360 games.
GTA IV is fun but I don’t like the driving as much as I did in GTA Vice City/SA. I know it’s just need to get used to it but meh. Also the soundtrack blows chunks compared to other GTA games.
Again this is all Personal Preference.
Too Human comes out in August..yeah can’t wait!!
Last point Bionic Commando Rearmed should be out either this Wednesday or next Wednesday so I’m getting it. Good old NES action in HD!!!!
Too Human looks alright, although I don’t feel it’ll blow me away.
About Lost Odysee and Blue Dragon: I never said they suck, I just said they aren’t the shit.
The only 360 games I look forward to is Ninja Gaiden 2, and maybe Fable 2.
Damn, how I can’t wait for MGS4, Resident Evil 5, and Silent Hill 5.
Yea they have made driving more ‘real’ in this one, you can’t take turns at 70 miles per hour anymore. I agree it is less fun, I haven’t played much of it though.
Bionic Commando, you’ll have to let me know how that goes. I love the NES game.
