I can translate to some degree but I just know smatterings of Japanese. I hardly even practice it anymore except occasional delvings into games like Sangokushi Taisen and Langrisser 4.

I have translated a game before (did both the translation and the romhacking), but it was a crappy NES game and the hack-work was second-rate at best.

Ya know Niahak we really really really need to get Langrisser IV and V translated. :) I’m sure if you practiced up byuu would maybe help with hacking ;)

The problem with getting L4 in particular is that its best version is (apparently) the Saturn one, and the Saturn support just isn’t really there. I wouldn’t mind helping out some on a project but I don’t think I could commit to much more than stuff here and there (look how long it takes me to finish the DoaE stuff :P).

byuu is an expert on the SNES but I don’t know how much he’s done with other systems. I don’t know if he’d be willing to help out – I got the impression the 8-year-long DL project took a lot of the wind out of their sails. Heck, when it started I was still running on a 300 mhz AMD with a 10gb, and that was great! I also wore an onion on my belt, since it was the style at the time.

I did buy the DL guide from jbuonnac, but there’s not anything there that wasn’t documented before. I made that one path diagram (albeit with errors) based on a folded piece of notepad paper I found in the guide. Other than that it hasn’t been useful…

Yeah I agree if anything happened with Langrisser IV or V and even III that we’d pretty much have to do the PS versions seeing how the emulation is there. Also with the recent translations of PS games the hacking community is starting to solve some of the problems it once faced.

I also agree probably nothing would ever come of it just thought I’d ask :)

Now to find a translator/hacker to translate Surging Aura :)

Man this games pretty bad.I’ve only played a bit of the starting on the 360 up until I had to face an army without knowing how to summon my men but it was fun.Only part I didn’t like was the lack of music.

Dude, they are re-releasing the backward compatable PS3 with metal gear this summer, i got a boner when I read that.

I never understood the backwards compatibility thing…people are complaining that they took them off the market…

I mean don’t people have working PS2’s? Is it that much of a hassle to leave your ps2 out? I dunno, it’s not for me.
