Hey, so I may have broken the game? I was able to use a Chariot to warp to Jian Ye and fight with “you know who” there before doing the story line part to be able to get there. After beating “You know who” I talked to Yuan Shao again and he just says I need to attack “You know who” first, which I just did. Now I don’t know how to progress.
No you didn’t break the game because a couple of people have finished it.
Hmm how to speak in code… Defeat ____ at Jian Ye and recruit ___ ___ in that town and have him lead your party. Once you have him in your party and you have beaten the guy in the east you should be able to continue east / northeast of the “east guy”.
Ok I found where to go. But why did you give the big guy such a small soldier count? After losing 2 big guys for him? That’s not cool…
Your two big guys were probably obsolete by now. There are better options :)
Sorry. one more thing. Is there a guy in the game that gives you an extra level for free like the original game? If so, can you give me a hint where he would be?

Nope. Level 50 is max in this game. I did some math on TP and balanced it out so that max TP tops off at 255. If you add one more level the TP would overflow so I chose to have level 50 be the max.
EDIT- And now I’m done. God that last battle was a pain in the ass, well done lol.
I’ve heard from someone else who beat the game. They got lost a couple of times in chapter 8 (Bao Zhou event) but other than that didn’t have huge problems with any battles. Until the last one…
What was your party for the last fight? The two that finished it used a party like…

JSLB’s high POL makes him almost immune to the “political” attacks making him a good option for that fight.
My final group? I had:
Yuan Shang
Liu Bei
Guan Yu
Lu Bu
Tian FengZhou Yu in reserve, ambush was pretty good for awhile when combined with rally.
My biggest problem was keeping ahead of the Doubt and chaos techs along with revives and the occasional assassinate. Guan and Lu Bu were the main nukers with charge and bullseye.
Tian Feng was the best healer I had. YS and Liu Bei were there to be damage sponges, apply rally and regen TP if needed.
Didn’t run into any game overs though, other than having that gamebreaking fight show up after Ma Teng lol. Though it felt like the damage was very inconsistent throughout, elemental attacks would hit hard at the start and then taper off as health dropped, yet bullseye would nuke whole health bars.
Was fun overall, just lots of bugs.

And that has been the big challenge will so many features and enhancements. I had made a decision to release this playable mod other than waiting for every bug to be fixed as who knows how long that would take. Of course with game breaking bugs I had to push out a revision right away. I do plan on releasing a future revision with more bug fixes.
I’m surprised you didn’t use Zhang He for the last fight. He probably would have been a better option than Guan Yu or Lu Bu as he would have had a higher troop count (depending on level).

This was my first time playing a DoaE mod and it was quite enjoyable :)
My final party for that true last fight (I was not expecting that btw lol) was:
Liu Bei
Zhang He
Lu Bu
Guan Yu
Tian FengHad a great starting round too. Enemy general decided to challenge my Lu Bu to a duel and was defeated.
edit: Better choices for more soldiers than Guan Yu + Lu Bu but I had them in due to liking using them is all.
Could have used Yuan Shang as a soldier sponge but eh. I was saddened losing your two generals but not surprised considering that’s what happened so was cool seeing it in game as well :D
The Iron ore fight kicked my ass at first. Was not expecting that either lol.
I think I might want to try going through again but next time use nothing but strategists, politicians etc or maybe (towards end game) nothing but Yuan’s 3 sons, a healer and one other run of the mill person for the hell of it. Really love the fact you can use so many characters unlike the original with their useless low soldier count.
Side note, in case you wish to know, one bug I encountered twice while at level 50 I was under 10 or 15 TP points and would have Tian Feng use Plan to regen TP. Majority of the time it was fine and gave me 12 points or whatever back but a couple of times it for some reason took me back to 254 o-O

Yep – I added those recruits for fun. Zhang He is the better option if you are leveled enough.

You’re the first person I’ve seen who beat the game without Yuan Shang.

Cao Zhang reported something like this as well. Will have to do some testing to see if I can trap it.
