Well MiDKnighT, I am done messing around with the old mods and have moved onto Yuan Shao’s Revenge 3.0. In the middle of the Dong Zhuo area – have to say I really enjoy the experience. Was worried it would seem like a new RPG with all the structural changes to the game but it still has the DoaE feel to it.
On that note, I know you have a guide for it already so hope it’s okay but felt like starting a walkthrough for it – Destiny of an Emperor Yuan Shao’s Revenge 3.0 Walkthrough. This is my first legit walkthrough in like 11-12 years maybe? I’m sure I’ll miss some items and stuff on the first run but can add to it later.
Couple things I noticed – one, a typo from the Dong Zhuo messenger after Yuan Shao takes the throne. “Emporer”. I am guessing with the expanded rom, the days of worrying about running out of room in the DoaE dictionary are gone?
Found a Tiger claw in the Guo Tu cave and no one can equip that yet – guessing we’ll get someone soon that can. That cave is really cool, very impressed with the map changes especially in the caves. Totally changes the game. Also with the way the route to Wei Jun Castle opens up and disappears, very cool.
When it comes to equipping items, I am getting the hang of which characters can equip which items. It’s a slight annoyance though when I try to equip something that a given character can’t equip, it unequips their current item.
I’m kind of new to the new stats/warlord profiles. How does POL/VIT/LDR actually do in battle? Guessing VIT goes into how much physical damage they take in battle?

Love to see that – commentary with the screenshots, looks great. Glad you liked the whole mountain pass appearing and then collapsing event. There’s a few innovative things we did with this one – the transition into chapter 5 I think is especially cool.
Midknight has a manual of sorts here: http://doaerhguide.wikidot.com/yuan-shao-s-revenge?fbclid=IwAR1k0RTeHtyz4U-czLEpfvRYx4rAf1XIVyuQWrAjEONoQxf9AVuoO4lxteg#toc0 which explains the stats as follows:
Leadership (LDR) – How strong of a leader they are. You would want to put someone with high LDR at the front of your party. Leadership can also affect duel outcomes if someone in your party gets into a duel, it can also affect negate (LDR+INT of party leader) vs enemy’s party leader and retreat (LDR+AGI of party leader vs enemy’s party leader). LDR can also factor in to any tactics with LDR in the attributes.
Strength (STR) – Officer attacking strength. Used for physical damage and dueling. STR can also factor in to any tactics with STR in the attributes.
Intelligence (INT) – Officer tactic strength (for INT based tactics). Also used for enemy officer artificial intelligence and intelligent officers are smarter about accepting duels. INT can also factor in to any tactics with INT in the attributes.
Agility (AGI) – Affects order of turns in battle and agility based attacks. There are also several agility based tacitcs. AGI can also factor in to any tactics with AGI in the attributes.
Vitality (VIT) – Helps with physical and tactic defense. It is also used for healing power (along with INT). Also adds to the AC value of armor. VIT can also factor in to any tactics with VIT in the attributes.
Political (POL) – The ability to manipulate events to your advantage. This affects tactics like Doubt and Mislead but also affect recruitment and gold/items gained after battle. POL can also factor in to any tactics with POL in the attributes.

Yes that would be really cool! Thanks.

Sentinels can equip that. You have access to 2 sentinels in the first 2 chapters.
Looks like Boneduke already covered the new officer attributes stuff.
When it comes to equipping items, I am getting the hang of which characters can equip which items.
There are 2 ways to figure this out. One is to check the officer profile (it has pics of which weapons they can equip). Another way it to check the guide:

There’s a way to fix that if you are using FCEUX emulator.
Also there’s a thread for the Yuan Shu mod, to avoid confusion you should post there about this mod:
We also discussed the Iron Ore bug in the Yuan Shu channel on the discord server.

Beat Cheng Du & don’t know where to find MA TengApril 23, 2023 at 9:17 pm #55373MiDKnighTModeratorIt’s been a while but I remember there’s an area to the north of chapter 5 (accessible from chapter 5) where you can find Ma Teng. You have to get past Zhang Lu / Hanzhong first.
