Just to clarify, are you a gamefaqs employee? I wasn’t sure what you meant when you referenced, "what we really do is internet marketing through search engines".
Perhaps you’re using your guides to filter people through your website. If that’s the case, we actually have a monetization incentive for guide publishers that you might be interested in hearing. We plan on giving the publishers ways to track activity on their guides: page views, recommendations, etc. Also, for exceptional publishers we’re developing ways for them to offer digital content on our site.

No problem – I’ll reach out to you here, though this is more of a 1 on 1 discussion than 1 to many.
I work for a site called, mygamemug.com. Quick jist of it is: We help people find other like-minded gamers to game with. It’s a real company, real site, real users. Feel free to check it out.
We’re doing a spin-off on our user generated game content which will include guides and reviews.
The idea we’re playing with is, "micro-guides". Instead of focusing on 100+ page comprehensive walk-throughs, we’ll be focusing on micro guides that detail very specific portions of the game. For example: How to kill a specific boss as opposed to all bosses. Character/class/spec guide for a specific character. Story arc or dungeon guides for RPG’s.
In any case, I’m very interested in learning more about the mind-set that guide publishers have and some of the incentives you strive for when publishing your very extensive guides.
If possible, I’d love to chat with you on IM/phone about this. It’s much easier for me to bounce ideas around this topic.
