Good to be here. I grew up playing the Romance series on NES (1), SNES (2), and PC (4&6), along with numerous other similar games that I’ll list some other time. KOEI and I were VERY good friends through high school. Just recently discovered the DOE games (love that emulators!!!). So far I like DOE1 a little better, but that’s mostly due to my DOE2 rom being a bit glitchy (generals look like blobs of pixels during battle); I’ve also played DOE1 longer too, and just became aware of the second one. It’s growing on me though, and I like some of the different features that it has.
This search for the blood seal is driving me crazy!! I’m following the advice of lordyuanshu’s walkthrough, but I think I might be misinterpreting the second floor directions. I see 3 paths (west, center, east). I go to the east path (I’ve already gotten all the treasure) and follow it all the way up until I can’t go up anymore (I see an unopened chest on the other side of the wall that’s blocking me). Since the wall has closed behind me, I then go right and get 2 options: up (leads to dead end) and down. I follow the path going down, which curves around to the left and goes back to the start. I’ve now made one clockwise circle using the east path. Repeat 2 more times. I should now have the first condition satisfied ("take the east path 3 times"). Now I take the west path all the way up until I can’t go up anymore. Again, I can’t backtrack so I go all the way to the right, back down and around, and I’m back at the start. Problem: there is now a wall blocking me from accessing the west path to start my second lap. I don’t know if I’m taking the entirely wrong path, or if I’m missing something else. On the plus side, I’ve gained 7 levels so it’s not ALL bad.
