“Love makes a woman strong. A woman in love glows. So say the minstrels. Perhaps, one could also say that for a woman, pride in the man she follows becomes and affirmation of her own worth.
In the year 200 AD, four women took to the battlefield on behalf of the men they loved. A battle as fierce as any fought, but which has never been brought to the light of history.”
Strategy: Another strange yet sometimes difficult stage, in which each female goes around leading their partner. After every fifty kills, the male of the duo will get an increase in fighting ability (defense or defense up, lightning/powered up, and musou rage eventually). That said, it is imperative to get to fifty kills fast so your male character is at least competent, and definitely don’t leave him at any time. Your duty is to bring him around to each of the three castles, and you MUST go in with him, or else Zuo Ci won’t let you begin.
Each character has a similar path but starts in different sections of the map. Yue Ying is in the northeast, with Cao Pi and Zhen Ji in the northwest. The Qiao sisters are in the south-central area. Immediately clear out your area and then go to the nearest castle for your first challenge.
Zuo Ci will create a phantom of himself, but it is not powered up and really is an easy kill. You might bump into another team around here, if so you’ll probably turn against them and be forced to take them out. Make a note of it to defeat each couple once (Zhou Yu/Xiao Qiao, Sun Ce/Da Qiao, Zhuge Liang/Yue Ying, Cao Pi/Zhen Ji), because the stage won’t end unless you do so. If you get the seal before you defeat each couple, the remaining couples will go after you and will be powered up. Thus, it is in your best interest to defeat them before you acquire the seal, so you should try to bump into each one along your way.
After your first trial, go to the next castle/trial area for the next one. You’ll probably have to kill some troops and a few Lieutenants along the way, but just make sure to keep your spouse in good shape. The second trial consists of defeating two of your spouse’s clones, which is really pretty easy if you can get your spouse to isolate one of them while you mow down the unattended one. Again, you’ll probably see another couple or two here, so do what you need to in order to advance. Now, on to the last castle.
The final test is to defeat the real powered up Zuo Ci. He is pretty tough but your partner should be very tough (even in Musou Rage maybe) as well. Once he is downed the seal will be yours and the victory will be too, assuming you defeating all the other couples at least once each. If you missed a couple or more, they’ll say they aren’t “convinced” of you and will then make a beeline towards your location. Take them down but again, they are more difficult than if you were to bump into them before you acquired the seal. Keep that in mind, but either way you should be able to take them and win the battle of the spouse.
