ParticipantMaybe I am stupid and am the only one having this problem but when I click on the "here" link to download the newest beta version of the program I get a page that says:
"Not Found
The requested URL /images/DOAE/DoaEditorv094.zip" was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."
What am I missing here?

ModeratorTim,
No, you’re not stupid or the only one having this problem. Apparently I managed to typo the URL to the point where it pointed under LYS’ domain, so I was the one who was stupid.
It’s been fixed, sorry about that.

ParticipantNo problem at all. I was just wondering if I had missed something or there was another link somewhere that I wasn’t seeing. By the way, great work on the editor! I just started playing around with one of the older versions last week and have been having quite a bit of fun with it! A couple of weeks ago I didn’t even know modding the game was possible and now I’m pretty psyched about all the possibilities! Thanks for all the work you’ve put in, allowing the none-computer programing types to play around with the game!

Thanks for all the work you’ve put in, allowing the none-computer programing types (like me) to play around with the game! Oh, one further question. I was messing around with changing officers and one of them happened to be Pang Tong. When I did this it changed the man in the house (in Ling Ling Castle I believe) to a horse. Is there a simple way to correct this or do you have any idea how that may have happened?

KeymasterYea, the man in the house in the west part of Ling Ling always turns into some random sprite from messing with all the characters in the editor. Might not even be related to Pang Tong, could be though. I’ve seen a horse there, I’ve seen a red town guard there, and some others…not much you can do but it doesn’t affect the game too much.

ParticipantOk. As long as it doesn’t affect the game then that’s fine by me. Besides it’s kind of funny to walk into the house and find a talking horse! :-)

ModeratorI’ll have to look into the horse thing. The only thing I can think of is that I’m accidentally switching some townspeople data (which is certainly possible). What throws me off is that it’s only *one* person. I’m completely unused to having DoaEd break something and not make the ROM/CPU/World explode.

KeymasterProbably has something to do with the fact that the ‘townsperson’ is actually a controllable character in Pang Tong. Not sure what exactly though since I think that sprite gets screwed up whether you changed Pang Tong’s slot or not.

ParticipantQuestion, Niahak. Currently when DoaEd opens a ROM it, I think, scans for all the represented soldier values, and displays them. If a certain soldier value is not represented by a general it does not display it as an available option, even if it is in the text list it draws from (e.g. if nobody has 1449 soldiers DoaEd doesn’t give you the option to assign 1449 troops). It would be handy if all of those soldier levels are available. :)

ModeratorIndeed it doesn’t. I’ll have to fix that.

KeymasterOne thing I’m having a hard time understanding.
I have Yuan Shao at 168 agility, Ji Ling at 177, and Yuan Yin at 200. Yet they all regularly go AFTER the rebel / bandit / brigand forces! My only guess is that also the changing of stats on the Editor ended up scrambling agility stats. It’s almost like they’ve just been reduced to 0. I mentioned this to Niahak earlier but I figured I’d post so either of us don’t forget :bom:

ModeratorLYS: Could you post a copy of your mod up someplace? If I can take a look at the hex I could tell you whether it is really the officers changing… I haven’t modified the AGI handling in probably a year, so I don’t think that’s it.
