ModeratorYou'll have to wait for another couple chapters to find out. I can't give away ALL the secrets…

ParticipantI can get all the secrets from hex. Remember, I play games by code.

ModeratorAll the hex in the world won't get you the changes that haven't been implemented yet, though…

ParticipantIt's fun, I'm pretty sure.
And I believe I can figure out everything from code.

KeymasterBut it'd be much easier to find it out by playing the game (especially if you use the speedup button, ~) , not to mention more fun. Whatever floats your boat though.

ParticipantI find it easier to figure out by hex because I'm a slow gamer.

KeymasterHaving problems running DoaEd on my laptop(or DoaTed for that matter).
When I open a file and click on an officer, it says "Error loading portrait image: C:usersetcGamesNESdoaeditorportraitsoutput6C_8x8.png". Still am able to change stats and export to a rom though, but I'm curious why the portrait problem occurs. Do I need a portrait folder with all the portraits within? The portrait folder I have is empty.
Not sure if it matters but the laptop is Windows 7, 64x

ModeratorYeah, there should be a bunch of .png files in the portraits directory.
I wonder why they wouldn't be in there…

ModeratorSince I'll be updating this anyway for the map stuff, sooner or later…
Repost of desired features:
-All soldier values (instead of only present ones)
-Portrait values for slots 1-6
-Listing of Death-Immune officers and Unbilletable ones
Also, outstanding potential issues:
-Agility bug
-Horse-person in town (aka pang tong bug).
Has anyone noticed a trend with the Pang Tong bug? I think it's a pointer issue related to how many bytes are left/offset by name changes, but I'm not really sure where to start.

ModeratorOne minor bug… My Liu Bei character (Yuan Shao) was billetable. It was because the tool had his code as A6 but you have to put A8 on the no-billet list to make him unbilletable. It should be an easy problem to reproduce.
1. Open up the tool and mark Liu Bei as billetable then unbilletable.
2. Start a game and put Liu Bei in billeting.

ModeratorGahh… you've got to be kidding me. The game has three different markers for Liu Bei. I always used the first for references in both the text and general editors, but apparently the last is needed for billeting.
That'll be fun… should be quick to fix at least.
