lol, okay something is messed up. Whenever I use the Ambush tactic the music changes to the "battle lost" theme… I've had the sound off for quite a while and just realized the power pil sound effect plays while duel challenges are being said?
Also, when I challenged an officer (Cao Zhi), he sent out a rebel force instead

I knew about "power pill" sound thing but not the others. I don't know yet why it's doing the power pill sound but I can look into it.
See if the other 2 problems still happen after patching.
And ya, I don't have the sound on when I test either.

Chapter 8 rebel forces has a base str of 111.
Rebel forces can have a maximum of 1.2* the base value (so 133 str).
Cao Zhi has 132 str… and enough int (220) to send out a higher str ally, such as Rebel Force.
Yes, Bob The Random Rebel is better at fighting than the third son of the legendary Cao Cao.
Expect Chen Qun (72/228), Guo Jia (24/228… assuming you activate him), Xun Yu (72/228), and Yang Xiu (124/228) to send out Bob The Relentless as well.
Well yeah, but I thought we were planning on banning rebel force types from dueling* At any rate, after patching it no longer plays that defeat music which was weird hehe. Also, it DID overwrite all the duel text…
Well, apparently you'll have to ban them from substituting rebel forces.
Or accept that Resourceful Bob out-dueled the coder. XD

For the rebel force thing. That's probably a bug. It's coded in that rebel force will always decline duels. But I don't think the same logic is there if a smart general sends an ally out in his place. I assume Cao Zhi is 220+ INT. If so, he will send out his strongest ally *only* if his ally is stronger than the one who proposed the duel. So that said the only way your situation makes sense is if:
1. Rebel force is stronger than Cao Zhi
2. Rebel force is stronger than the one who proposed the duel
Just how strong are you making rebel force in your mod?!?!?! :o
So one of two things are happening…
Either your rebel force is on steroids.
Or there is a bug somewhere. I haven't seen anybody send out rebel force yet but if you still see it after the patch I can try to test it.
Uhh, I never really got around to testing those rebel forces, but theyre ranging from 193-211 strength in chapter 8 >_>
Ouch. If the person requesting the duel was weaker than rebel force then what you saw was expected… I just never imagined that rebel force would be so strong. I can add an extra no rebel force check in the "sending out an ally" thing if you like.
