You might be on to something there. However, in the second half of the game I tend to use magic a lot more than physicals. Tell me if you think you find any other unique abilities.

No. I just got through the cave and defeated Cao Cao (or the swordsman that you fight when you reach Cao Cao). I’m working my way out of the cave as I type.
Thus far, however, I haven’t found anything for Liu Bei or Guan Yu. Guan Yu is strictly used for attacking with physicals and Liu Bei uses physicals (usually in normal encounters) and magic (for bosses and strong monsters). When I get some other people, I’ll see what happens. After all, if anyone would have a special ability, it’d be Zhuge Liang.
A lot of Wei bosses are one-shot people, so I just gave them some generic names (like the "Sworddancer" you just fought) but some show up more than once, or it’s obvious who they are from their field sprite.
Be careful with magic, remember that YOU are the one to choose who gets which magic, not the game itself like in many games!

Yeah, I stick Zhao Yun with healing (since he’s a relatively good fighter, but a bit weak against bosses), Liu Bei with damaging ones (it’s about all he’s good for), and Zhang Fei with summons. But being that Zhang Fei is stronger than Guan Yu, I may switch and give Guan Yu summons so I can reserve my strongest warrior for physicals. But I rather like this customizability with magic and that. It’s really nifty!
Unfortunately…I must put the game on hold. I’m leaving in about a half hour so I need to stop. :cry:

Ah, I haven’t tried playing in awhile. My Genesis emulator is being a spoiled son-of-a-bitch and not letting me set the buttons of my controller.
You have to remember, though; the very thing that makes you a nerd is that your enthusiasms are totally unrelatable and non-marketable to most of the world. For example, anime and celibacy. - Seanbaby

DoaE gave birth to Huo Hu.
I added a Credits section at the end, since it seems like all the cool kids do it and the bottom of the post was kinda bare.
There’s also a Hall of Fame section for whoever can complete the game. GO GO GO!

I’m at Liu Bei’s dream right now, if anyone was wondering. Chapter 5 will get updated sometime soon.
I’ve noticed that if you just wait a little after having just loaded the game you can see a demo of the teleport cave, a certain castle (Or is it? I haven’t got there yet…) a "jumpdown" mountain, and the fight against zhang jue 1, which Liu Bei automatically loses, after that, it loops back to the title screen.

The part in the cave is the Teleport Cave, and shows Liu Bei running around like a coward.
The castle area is on the second floor of Pagoda Tower where you have to hit one of the floor switches.
The mountain area shows the very end of Ladder Mountain from Chapter 6. Liu Bei runs right off both ladders, which puts him right back at the beginning and he has to walk all the way back through to grab that pot.
The last part is Liu Bei getting pwned by one of the Turbans. I’ve wondered two things here: how did Liu Bei get to the fight at level 1, and how did Zhang Bao/Cheng Yuan Zhi learn Shinryu?
