Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingI know, I was thinking the other day, are they killing the future of gaming right now.
Think, when we were kids,we played 2d games, originals, on basic systems. Do little kids actually play all these super hyped ps3/xbox games, I mean I played dragon warrior when i was like 8, do u know any 8 year-old playing lost odyssey or assasins creed? prolly not cause their parent arent spening 600 bucks on systems and 60 bucks on games. So when they get older, will they want to play games, no cause they’ll wanna be outside riding bikes and stuff instead on sitting in front on the tv mindlessly.
haha so it’s kind of a good thing that games suck so kids get out more huh.
Actually I think video games are just as popular as they ever were, and they’ve always been expensive for whichever console is ‘in’ at the time. Gaming standards are just so low, it’s too graphic oriented instead of quality gameplay. Plus they’re all more complicated than they need to be, as there aren’t as many easy turn it on and play it type games that the NES churned out for example. Don’t get me wrong there are quality games, and there were bad games back in the day too…I think we were just kinda spoiled growing up when we did when gaming was best (imo of course).
That’s why when my kid grows up I’m going to start him off on 8 bit, SNES, maybe PS1.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingSee mine plays SNES games on the comp, but she couldn’t play a game on the PS2, which is kind of a last generation gaming system, but I could play atari and intelivision when I was her age, and that was a generation behind my time.

I wouldn’t be too sure about the sales part. Also, I don’t think Gears of War, Metal Gear Solid, Tekken, Soul Caliber, Final Fantasy and so on (you get the point) are crappy. The PS3 is just getting started.
I’m talking about the other 99% of the games. DS is still hammering these games.

It seems that with each step we’ve taken toward greater graphics we’ve taken a step back in terms of gameplay and, well, accessibility. There have been exceptions: Parasite Eve, for example, was a graphic marvel when it came out, but it was backed by incredible gameplay. More often than not, though, this just isn’t the case.
How many first person shooters are just empty re-hashes of the same tired concept?
I love gaming, but I’ve been using my DS more and more.
