2 new things!!!

Since before the Stillshrine of Mariam, I now have the Zodiak Spear!!! (Was really hard to get with the enemies dealing over 1000 damages to my characters… Thank you Bubble!) I have now advanced in the story, and I’m ready for the Pharos/Ridorana Cataract, but I’m gonna du some side quests (Except the hunts, I completed them all for now… Good old Gilgamesh)

Also found an easy way to defeat Antlion. This is for people who are not too high in levels/defense. You know thoses mantises near Antlion? They can be warped!

Feels epic and free instead of confined and linear.

Cluckatrice was a bastard. I had to come back for him. I beat him around level 11 (and it was tough) by killing off the chicks first, then taking him down slowly with a character constantly using potions. I also brought a small supply of Golden Needles. Xiahou Mao from SoSZ (and just about every other forum) beat him on level 9 with some chained Myst Techniques?or whatever they are called?I haven?t figured out all the terms.

I actually just got done beating them up with a couple Mist chains. I took out two of the chicks with a two-Mist chain each (feeding my 2 Mist-ers ethers), then pummeled the third one and finally took out the Cluckatrice. It took me over 10 phoenix downs, but I somehow managed it at level 9 myself. Used around 40 potions too.

I can’t seem to last in that battle. Vaan has the Mage’s Habit and he has a good defense because of it but the other two characters get pummeled right away.

I must have missed something regarding these Mist attacks. Are they spells? Techniques? Items?

If you look around the edges of the License Board, you’ll find things called "Quickenings", which cost 50 LP. They’re sort of like a Limit Break, except you can use them whenever you have full MP and it depletes all your MP. Only one person can learn each one, and if you have more than one character who can use one, you can chain them together using the button commands while the first character is using theirs. If you’re lucky, you can even have two characters switch back & forth (I got a 4-5 combo off of Balthier and Vaan alone, doing 5000 damage).

There’s a quickening directly down from Steal etc. that is fairly easy to reach, as well as one up from the accessories area.

I guess I haven’t built up much, or I went in a different direction on the License Board.

I probably thought they were easy to reach because I built Balthier to be a Technick master and got Vaan accessory skills to use a few I’d picked up along the way.
