Now that you've done it once you can move whatever town, village, or fort you want to.
But if you move towns you also have to change the gullwing addresses which are typically one spot below the town address.

So I'll want to search the hex for one of the spots right under the castle then? Sounds good.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingOctober 17, 2011 at 4:56 am #38252Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterFinally ran into a problem moving a castle. It wasn't changing the location of the warp or the Gullwing warp, but instead moving the battle.
I move Yuan Castle (the first castle in Yuan Shu's area). Then I changed the warp…but then I go to the castle and I just go straight in the warp to the town area. The mandatory battle against Lei Bo is gone (or in this case, Yuan Shu vs. Liu Bei's officers). So I then go to the original location of Yuan Castle (which is grass) and I fight the battle lol.
So how do I move the battle? I searched the surrounding values of the castle (in the Hex Editor) to no avail, so I don't know how else to distinguish these battles in the editor outside of their location (well I do know where they are as far as editing who is in the battle, but I don't think location is in that area).

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingOctober 17, 2011 at 7:55 am #38253Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterOkay, so I read this:
Quote:// 0x30C10 = $8C00,X = The list of coordinate 1 positions for all boss battles.// 0x30C68 = $8C58,X = The list of coordinate 2 positions for all boss battles.
// 0x30CC0 = $8CB0,X = The list of coordinate 3 positions for all boss battles.
// 0x30D18 = $8D08,X = The list of coordinate 4 positions for all boss battles.
That's the data I needed, finally was able to move the battle. Lot harder doing that since you have to double check the coordinates and which value your battle that you are moving is in (Yuan Castle was the 15th battle).

Castle location
Battle location + Event Data possibly
Town Warp location
Gullwing location
October 17, 2011 at 6:34 pm #38256Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterTrue. It would definitely be simplified. I have to say though, once you do it once it's pretty easy to remember how to do it. It's just doing it once and figuring out the proper way to do it.

October 22, 2011 at 4:27 am #38259Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterWell, I have a problem with warps here.
So I moved the cave east of Nan Yang just a little bit (same general area still). Used the Hex Editor to find the warp for it – 03 09 09 09, then changed it to the new spot. So I change the graphics and go into the cave successfully. Except when I leave the cave, it sends me back to 03 09 09 09 – the old location for the cave which is now a bunch of craters huohu .
Maybe I use the Hex in the cave and change the address in the cave that sends you to 03 09 09 09? Thing is I searched 03 09 09 09 again in the hex editor and it didn't come up(including 04 09 09 09 too)
edit – After going into the caves and looking at the Hex, the spots BEFORE the exit to the World Map are 04 27 0F 19 + 05 27 0F 19. The real exit spots would be 04 27 0G 19 but of course 0G is not a hex spot that we can search.
The good news is from searching this, is that you have to exit through those two spots. If you try to exit from any other spot, you will go to no-where land. The only way to the World Map from the cave are those two spots I listed above. But, I still can't figure out where I would find the warp to the World Map and thus I can't change it.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingOctober 22, 2011 at 1:30 pm #38260MiDKnighTModerator0G? That should be impossible. It would move to the next region.
We haven't played with cave warps much yet. I'd think there must be a warp somewhere for exiting the cave (unless it's using the original warp but it looks like it's not). Your problem is probably that you are looking for 0G which does not exist. It would move to the next region.
Also I would not move Nan Yang because an event happens there (the bridge shows up where Yuan Shao ambushes you).

It's definitely the warp in the cave, because like I said if you walk through the exit any other way than the two spots that directly exit, you warp to no-man's land.
So I guess I have to estimate what the coordinates would be after switching regions (since like you say I knew that 0G would not work).
Quote:Also I would not move Nan Yang because an event happens there (the bridge shows up where Yuan Shao ambushes you).Oh I know, wasn't going to do that. Actually was going to move the cave close to Nan Yang (after the Gates) but decided against it for that reason.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingOctober 22, 2011 at 2:40 pm #38262Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterOk, I found the real exits. 04 27 00 1A + 05 27 00 1A. Found both of them in the Hex.
HOWEVER, I just realized, what would be the point of changing these? I still want the exit in the cave to be in the same place – I want to change where the exit shoots our characters out to.
Found it. Yes. The warp spots are both consecutively in the hex and right after those exit spots
