ModeratorQuote:I'm probably gonna hate the answer to this but does raise scale as the game goes on and provide a full heal upon revival the whole way through the game or just in the beginning?Life will resurrect you and then do a "Salve" on whoever is resurrected. So they will end up with 700-800 HP or so.
Raise will resurrect you then do a "Revive" on whoever is resurrected. Depending on how "Revive" is set up it may give full health back depending on who's mod it is. I think in Ieyasu you get full health back but in the Yuan Shao mod you get up to 25,000 HP back.

ModeratorPutting the link in here so we can observe the 'quest':

ParticipantHeh, I'll be muddling through some more starting right now actually.
Hope all of this helps either entertain or troubleshoot the rom, whichever lol.

ModeratorI watched some of it. You only have to use Vigor once. After that it doesn't do anything (unless the enemy did a 'Negate" on your last Vigor). There's a status flag that gets set in memory when an officer is "vigored". Casting it again after the status flag is set doesn't change anything.

ParticipantYeah, I was about to post about that and ask whether it was necessary or not.
Cause the computer tends to use it over and over again, so I thought maybe I had to use it again to keep myself above them? lol, I guess from now on I'll just use negate in that situation.
TwitchTV just crapped out, the stream will be back up soon.

ParticipantHeh, yeah the addition of the "Life" skills makes them derp quite a bit too.
Quite a few times I had Magoichi using it when nobody was dead, or Kotaro was using it and he didnt even have anybody with him.

ModeratorYa I'll fix that too when I fix the A.I. stuff.

ParticipantRemoving Rampart and Earthwork for Guard makes me sad :(
Thats making the fights against Kenshin's generals a real pain lol.
June 25, 2012 at 8:42 pm #41989MiDKnighT
ModeratorGuard is like Rampart and Earthwork on steroids. So you should be happy that you got Guard, use it! :)
EDIT: To be more precise:
Rampart is essentially Wuo Jian which "Reduces effects of enemy's fire tactics by half."
Earthwork is essentially Shui Jian which "Reduces effects of enemy's water tactics by half."
Guard is essentially Ji Rou which "Reduces effects of enemy attacks by half." (that includes physical and tactic attacks)
So when you cast Guard, you're getting Earthwork + Rampart + physical attacks reduced by half.

ParticipantAh, I didnt realize that. I figured it was just for physical since that was the only recognizable change I saw, meanwhile Tsunami was still wiping my team.
So that means the tactic works as intended, I'm just that weak by that point of the game.
I'm loving the pacing though, its so much tougher than the Lu Bu mod, much harder to come across worthy recruitable generals too.
You guys should make accounts and join me in chat sometime, would be nice to chat with the masterminds behind the madness as I progress through it!
And I still plan to move right into the Yuan Shao mod as soon as Ieyasu is finished, which will also be streamed.

ModeratorWow, seems youre cruising along through it pretty well! Hehe, yeah it hopefully is presenting a new challenge as that was the plan for each of these mods is just that.
Although I am debating in the Flames of Wu mod making "Guard" an endgame tactic as it is almost too over-powered!
Yeah, the life-bugginess is kind of annoying, but meh, it gives you a chance to breathe I guess?
