ModeratorTrue, the latest version is bmp, but most of the pics you posted were jpgs >_>
And if purple or red works for the beard (the novel claims sun quan has green eyes and a purple beard), good! If not, use the red/yellow that I did in columns 2 and 3. NES games have a limited palette, so people understand the red/yellow beardcoloring, just as they understand the pinkeye (yelloweye?) epidemic! XD

Moderatorwell yeah, the screenshots are .jpeg, but I they don't need to be png's or bmp's or fyi's or lol's as I didn't think anyone was editing them. If you want some portrait strips to work from I've got a whole bunch (currently 10 strips). If you have any additional pics you'd want to collaborate on that'd be awesome. Let me know if any come to mind.
I'm not a HUGE fan of the red eyes, and the yellowerish-tan skin color tends to work best, especially when blended with black and works pretty good for highlights in place of solid white which would eliminate the ability to make these portraits multi-colored if I used that instead. Mostly only the white bearded super old farts get solid white beards.

ParticipantI feel like I'm outside a Gamestore before they open pressing my face against the glass and begging for them to let me in.

Participantgamestop is the only one left where i live, and definitely no facial hair for lu bu :unibrow:

ModeratorQuote:and definitely no facial hair for lu buNone? are you sure? Not even a little scruff? Maybe you should put it as your desktop wallpaper and see if it…. grows on you, mwahaha :D
So what if his name wasn't Lu Bu? What if his name was Charlie? Would Charlie look better with or without facial hair? FLEXX
At any rate, my updated Zhuge Liang was done @ a lower pixel count so it looked a little scrunched, so I blew it up a bit and updated some colors. While I do still like the original, let me know if the new one is too much.

ModeratorI also vote for no facial hair for Lu Bu (stubble at the most). And the Zhuge Liang portraits look great although I kinda prefer the one where you can see his hat more. Ie…this one:

ModeratorActually, I kind of liked that one too because of the hat. Ah well, looks like I'll have to scrap the other one… just like Lu Beard :P
Anyways, here is a substitute replacement

ModeratorYou should work on Cao Ren's beard — just as I worked on Cao Pi's beard.

ModeratorYes; highlights for black beards should be mostly off-red (or 4th color, if the palette permits). Or at least post the lossless green-blue versions (as you did for Cao Pi) so I can edit them as needed.
