ModeratorQuote:That was really difficult to handle… how to keep SQ useful throughout most of the game without choppin off his balls at certain parts of the game in terms of stats or soldiers. So I figured starting off low while the other guys pick up the slack and then he eventually gains a greater ability to be useful, but getting him into the party before the player had a full 7 was a trick in itself.Speaking of that, I noticed you locked in the Guan Yu / Zhang Fei characters (non billatable). That said, I ended up using HG a lot but I often had CP as my 7th character in the middle of the game. Just had other options I liked more. For example I just pulled up an old save state from near the time of RC and my lineup was:
JL
TC
HG
SQ
ZY
* ZZ
CP (extra)

ModeratorCP is a tricky one… I don't want him to be so overpowered that you never use any of the other characters, but giving him a more 'balanced' set of attributes I think just makes people gravitate towards people who are just plain stronger in either STR, INT, AGI, or soliders. Making him useful all throughout is difficult. Maybe giving more agility to make him more of a first strike character? Althought in the beginning of the game I know I had to rely pretty heavily on him so he does have his moment in the sun so to say.
I knew if I made these two guys billetable they would probably get dumped asap in place of stronger characters. HG is a good choice b/c of his high soldier count. ZT's stats make him a Zhao Yun type character early on, so I tried to make his recruitment time more historical, but at the same time, nerfed his usefulness early on.

ModeratorAnd regarding the infamous bug. I had about 2 freezes after completing most of the game but they were so random and unpredictable it was impossible to trace. I don't know if they had anything to do with the original freeze issue – they might have been something different. Unless we get a save state that triggers the problem close to 100% I can't possible trap it and fix it :-/
When the beta testers get a crack at this mod I'd ask that if they get a freeze that they attempt to get a save state replicating the freeze. Then I'd have something to work with.

ModeratorEvery time I've had it happen it happend w/ an officer @ the bottom of the formation going first, but again, it was VERY rare.

ModeratorFinished the opening bios! (Phew!)
Updated Lu Meng to give his portrait a little more swag since he's in the opening bio and is a pretty main character. His previous portrait was just a bit too rough for a main character.

ModeratorAuto-equipping is broken… It says the items are equipped but in stats + battle, they're obviously not.

ModeratorOh I forgot, there's some additional code that you would need. Did I put it in the guide?
EDIT: Yes, I did, here it is:
Quote:Starting Equipment:Liu Bei: 0x3557C
Guan Yu: 0x3556C
Zhang Fei: 0x35574
Add 0x80 to the item ID to pre-equip it. But if you want the weapons pre-equipped your gonna have to add a bit of code to make that happen when the game starts. You can do this with:
0x35447: 4CC097EAEA
0x375D0: A90A8DF861A9018DC0608DC160A9028DC260A9148DB4608DB5604C3C94

ModeratorNope, it freezes the game. The 1MB expansion might have messed it up

ModeratorDear my, TSC is hard as heck! Might have to reduce some defense >_>
Also, the Serpent has an added effect which was eliminated by the IPS patch which will now be functional again in the next update :crybaby:
Also, what is REALLY wasting a party early on is the "Shock" tactic. Although relatively low in damage, it doesn't miss which can really diminish a party fast, so it's important to wipe out those characters first.
