InactiveI did fight Cao Cao when I returned I believe. Perhaps the first line-up did stay defeated. Are only two generals suppose to be able to join you after you defeat him or should others join me after beating them in battle?

called it a 'night' after picking up lu xun. gan ning was a mother fucking beast tonight. also picked up a steed towards the end.
the map edits and battles for the red wall were awesomely done. big kudos.
did have some random encounter hell.
the two food chests in the normally-wu-cave were awesome.
did hit a nasty bug with game over.
will possibly highlight the game over bug and random encounter hell…
archived video is taking it's sweet ass time to show up… so i'm prolly gonna just deal with it after waking up.
the game over bug – during the red bluffs stuff… i game overed. walked out of town after sun ce scolded me, and was in late game area (at least, with the enemies i was facing).
game overed a second time, and ended up in yet a different area again.
really digging the original game's total rearrangement of story events, btw.

ModeratorMight have been a castle resurrection issue. Resurrection castles operate differently than normal warps and have to be changed seperately, something DOAEditor doesnt change in addition to changing warps

an hour there (startting with fighting a tank living in his house… after what would have been 'cheng du'. i was going to go to sleep, but a friend watched me take out the guy with a girl and he hits like a tank… so if ya wanna see how i took that fight on, the beginning of the second video is good for that.
then i hinted at mister happy being even harder which he hadn't seen (was earlier in the morning). so went to zhou cang's cave and demonstrated mister happy.
but… mister happy did something really strange. i just went 'all out' so that he'd kill me and i'd go to sleep. but… i came out victorious. o/. the all out victory is around 19min into the last video there. so watching the first 20min of the second video is highly suggested (for one tough fight and how i decided to tackle it, and the weird mr happy victory).
so i took mr happy into the next bits of the game…
then…. 45min after getting mr happy, and about 6 spiked tiles later… the game froze (all out bug), and i hadn't saved since getting mr happy. :huohu:
i'll have to try mr happy again tomorrow.
plenty more game overs…. i do try to remember to not step outside of the castle but to seawing where i wanna go (so as to not mess things up).
still loving the mod, the writing, everything.
a certain tactic costing 100 is truly interesting, especially with an opposing tactic you've not given enemies (as of yet).
i dunno what happened to the play time i did during the 5th, twitch hasn't posted it yet.
i believe i hit only one bug tonight (other than game crash). the gate/citadel before mr happy…. there's a chick in that fight that hits kind of hard and has a higher defense and no tactics… and ya run into her a lot in the field. after the citadel fight, she joined in billeting, but then i ran across her in the field and recruited her again…. so… i have two of her.
now… that… might just possibly be because i said 'no' to the guy taking liu zheng's place in the prison cell … i r so speshul.

Moderatoroh, didn't discover until going to mr happy that smoke pots do indeed last longer. thank you <3
granted, a running gag through out my casts have been southern bumpkins starving & hungry gan ning eating enemies.
sadly, i'm getting to a very difficult decision.
gan ning has *carried* me throughout the game. he is still a beast, but is lacking the *1* tactic i need him to have to assure he stays in the party the rest of the game. I will prolly keep him anyway out of sheer loyalty… but that one tactic would cement it heh. otherwise, i'm trying to weigh party options for the one (if i have mr happy) or two (if no happy) slots remaining.
i like how you've done the general recruitment…..

Generals are a lot more controllable by setting them up to be recruited in towns. Having them recruited only via random encounters was just too hecktick planning a good, long mod like this.

Moderatormy starving southern bumpkins are quite accustomed to healing in battle and focus'ing up some TP's :)

I felt the same way. Having "rebel force" filling in all the blanks for every boss battle just made it seem…. meh. Glad its working out.
I still need to check on that Zhu Rong thing….

ModeratorTwo bugs fixed in the new version of Flames of Wu
Zhu Rong bug fixed that allowed double recruitment (will only take effect in new game)
Resurrection bug fixed which caused a player who exited a castle after dying at a certain part of the game to be teleported to a chapter 8 land.
