Starting from the upper left and going clockwise – Zhao Yun, Xiahou Dun, Zhou Tai, Lu Xun, new Wei male, new Shu female, Zhen Ji, Cao Pi.
So let's hear who people think the bottom-right characters are. I think the lady is either SSX or Xing Cai re-done, while the guy I think is Xu Shu.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingSeptember 18, 2010 at 9:28 am #38377DragonAtmaModeratorNah, Xu Shu was only briefly with Shu and then didn't do much with wei; if they're sensible, they would FINALLY have the sense to include Jia Xu, but…
Most likely that's Zhang Liao, Xu Huang, Yue Jin, or possibly even a created character.
As for the shu character, you're probably right about that being Xing Cai; logically, SSX would have a mix of green and red clothing to reflect her dual commitment.
September 18, 2010 at 4:40 pm #38378Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterFirst of all, I think you're reading into the color aspects too much. There are rumours this is going to be a very costume-heavy game, so it would not surprise me to see character's who served in multiple factions having different costumes based on their group. So I still think that Shu female is SSX – it just looks more like SSX than Xing Cai. Could be wrong but to be honest I don't really care, I don't really prefer the females in these games outside of Zhen Ji.
As for the Wei male, you might be on to something with Xu Huang. Now that you said that I really think it looks like him minus the turban. Could be a fresh look for Xu Huang? He was one of the 'cloned' warriors in DW6, with no musou mode. So they basically did nothing with him so having a make-over like that would not surprise me. That said I still think it's Xu Shu or some new character lol. Looks like he has a robe on so I'm guessing a tactician type, which is why I thought Xu Shu but I suppose Guo Jia or Jia Xu could suffice too.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingSeptember 18, 2010 at 5:58 pm #38379DragonAtmaModeratorThat looks a lot like armor on UnknownWei, actually. He seems to be one of the wilder characters, which doesn't occur much in Wei; maybe he's an alternate Gan Ning outfit, although IIRC they generally display only the standard outfits, not the alternates.
As for UnknownShu, I still think that SSX would look older; she IS seventeen years older than Xing Cai.
Also, Zhao Yun looks weird in that pic, Xiahou Dun is suddenly somewhat old, and Cao Pi looks like a castlevania character with a tan.
And Koei was lazy in DW6; they didn't give everyone musou modes, and instead of adding people, they actually REMOVED seven people.
September 18, 2010 at 8:58 pm #38380Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterSSX has looked young before. The only time I remember her looking old was in DW3 where her face looked a little aged. She looked motherly lol. They've gone away from that model over the years; younger designs appeal more to the younger gamers probably.
Cao Pi looks cool. Some have said it might be someone other than Cao Pi but I don't think so. Looks mostly like Cao Pi to me, just altered like they do with everyone.
Koei was super lazy in DW6. But DW2 was a very empty-feeling game and DW3 was then the second game in the console's lifetime so it was more feature packed. Way more maps. That's what I'm hoping. They couldn't have given everyone musou modes because there were only like 19 stages or something crazy. For the PS2 version that came out later of dw6 they added an extra 5-7 stages, but still. They could flesh out the stories much more and I think you'll see that with 7. They know everyone wants all the characters to have a musou mode and a reasonably unique moveset (There will naturally be similarities but it won't be blatant copies like with DW6).

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingSeptember 18, 2010 at 9:46 pm #38381cabalpapaParticipantWhat is this game for? PC? PS3?
September 18, 2010 at 9:50 pm #38382DragonAtmaModeratorI have no problem with Cao Pi's DW7 form; it's just that he REALLY looks like Richter Belmont with a different hairdo and a little hat. The resemblance is uncanny!
And you do have a point about SSX; technically Huang Zhong was born about eight years before Zhao Yun, yet he *always* looks a good thirty years older.
September 18, 2010 at 11:17 pm #38383Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterQuote:What is this game for? PC? PS3?Only has been announced for PS3 in Japan. For USA or Europe, it has not been announced, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was for 360 in the US region. Also wouldn't be surprised if it was PS3 exclusive here too though, like DW6, or at least a timed exclusive (released for PS3 first and then maybe 360 a year later or something. Could be the case for PC too).
Cao Pi's DW7 look is nice so far, I agree.
Quote:And you do have a point about SSX; technically Huang Zhong was born about eight years before Zhao Yun, yet he *always* looks a good thirty years older.It would be neat to see a young interpretation of Huang Zhong. Did he ever not have a flowing white beard? Even younger adulthood?
Another thing to keep in mind with those portraits is that probably isn't going to be how they look like in the game. It's probably close but not exact.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingSeptember 19, 2010 at 11:56 am #38384DragonAtmaModeratorActually, they used both young and old portraits for some major characters in RotK11; Huang Zhong with a black beard looks freaky, but not as freaky as Xiahou Dun with two eyes.

September 20, 2010 at 9:49 pm #38386DragonAtmaModeratorThey said the same thing about Ieyasu Tokugawa in SW2E! Give or take.
October 2, 2010 at 5:12 pm #38387LinkParticipantI hope they don't bring back Xing Cai. I hate her voice, and she doesn't really have much of a role in there other than rubbing in Liu Chan's face that he's inferior to his own wife.
October 18, 2010 at 7:35 am #38388Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterI have the full-body pictures of the eight characters above. I'll post them tomorrow. Still don't have the names for the new Wei character or the Shu female.
Also it has been reported that we won't be learning any more from the Japanese site until the announcement on October 25th / 26th. Unfortunate but really only a week away. We could know a ton more about the game then, including some of the new characters. Like hopefully Yuan Shu. So stay tuned.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingOctober 18, 2010 at 2:23 pm #38389DragonAtmaModeratorConsidering that after six games they STILL didn't have the sense to include Jia Xu, I fear that they won't have the sense to include Yuan Shu either. :(
He *is* one of the msot likely Other Character additions, though; other likelies are probably Gongsun Zan, Liu Biao, He Jin, and Ma Teng.
My best guess for battles…
Gongsun Zan:
* Battle with turbans
* Anti-Dong Zhuo Coalition
* Battle with Yuan Shao
* Battle with Cao Cao
* Alternate Chi Bi (vs Sun Quan & Liu Bei)
Ending: Gongsun Zan puts his son in chareg and rides off to fight more enemies
Liu Biao:
* Anti-Dong Zhuo Coalition
* Death of Sun Jian
* Battle with Yuan Shu
* Battle with Sun Quan
* Alternate Chi Bi (Liu Biao & Liu Bei vs Cao Cao & Sun Quan)
Ending: Jing is secure, but Liu Biao breathes his last.
Ma Teng:
* Battle with Turbans
* Anti-Dong Zhuo Coalition
* Battle with Cao Cao
* Alternate Guandu (Ma Teng vs Yuan Shao & Gongsun Zan)
* Battle with Sun Quan
Ending: Ma Teng conquers china with a speed and efficiency not matched until that Genghis Khan fella shows up.
He Jin:
* Battle with Turbans
* Battle with the regular attendents
* Dong Zhuo's Rebellion
* Yuan Shu's rebellion
* Cao Cao's rebellion
Ending: Han survives against all odds… although He Jin is clearly the one in charge.
October 18, 2010 at 7:48 pm #38390Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterYea those are all great but Yuan Shu can honestly be matched up in a battle with more rulers than just about anyone. Feuds vs. Shu, feuds with his brother, with Cao Cao, the Sun family (also fights with them for a time), Gongsun Zan, Dong Zhuo, etc. I would vomit if they included He Jin before LYS.
