ModeratorSo I've been trying to find out where they store messenger adjacencies. I know that 19DAE through 19EA3 shows adjacencies for *invasions*, but even if you change that it has no effect on messengers.
Anyway, I did some searching (no, not searching for generals XD), and it seems that 1AE94 through 1BA1B contains the distance (in provinces) a messenger has to travel. For example, if you send a messenger from province 1, 1 is 00, 2 is 01, 3 and 6 are 02, 4, 7, 9, and 8 are all 03, and so on.
Anyway, the chart is rather… weird. Instead of 41 columns (one for each target) they have a whopping 72 columns, many of them dummy data (which are FA for every distance and are show here with an x). They're not ordered correctly, Here's what the 72 columns are, in order:
x x x x x 2 1 x x x x 4 3 6 x x x x x 5 7 9 8 x 15 x x 11 10 17 16 24 14 13 12 20 19 28 18 25 x 30 29 31 21 22 27 26 x 33 32 40 23 38 37 x x 35 34 41 39 x x x x x 36 x x x x x
On a side note, each group of nondummy data contains a thin strip of provinces from west to east; the only strips not separated by at least one column of dummy data are 11-10-17-16-24 and 14-13-12-20-19-28-18-25.
Unfortunately, this still doesn't help us find the internal coordinates (both for which tile they assign to the province and what formatting they use to make the messengers sober). Hopefully I'll figure this out soon, though. Remember, people, even if you don't want to help for my sake you should still help for Liu Bei, Cao Cao, Sun Quan, and/or Huo Hu's sake!

ModeratorI'm currently updating the gemfire mod; don't worry, it'll be ready by tommorrow, and once it's uploaded I'll start work on testing the Ieyasu DoaE mod.
And to clarify, the gemfire mod is for SNES version, not the NES, PC, or Genesis version.

ModeratorWha..!? I think I just found the adjacencies for messengers!
Hopefully http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/3753/paths.png explains it sufficiently. But if not…
"Groups of 8" has what the 72 columns (form the previous post, of course) mean, arranged in groups of 8.
"Rearranged" has the columns staggered, so it's clearer.
"Neighbors" shows what neighbourings are active in "Rearranged".
And "The map!" shows, of course, the map — with proper adjacencies!
So we should be able to rearrange provinces if needed; for example, moving 15 to the seventh column in the second row (15th column out of 72) should make it adjacent to 1, 2, 6, and 8.
EDIT: Presumably there's also data showing which columns are meaningful and which ones aren't…

ModeratorI'm still alive.
Been a bit busy with health related things. In late March, started walking 5km a day. For the last 3 or 4 weeks, have been going to the gym and weight lifting. Dropped my average and resting heart rate by about 10-15bpm, dropped my blood pressure by 20pts on both sides, and have been losing about 1.5lbs a week (currently: 191.6lbs).
Code base is still sitting on my PC, I still think about it several times a week… just haven't actually DONE anything to it yet. Hopefully soon.

ModeratorYeah, I came in 18th in my age bracket, so it wasn't all that bad… unless you consider my rank as a whole was 455th heh heh. But that was out of 1500+ people, so not too horrible…

Keymaster18th in the age bracket but 455th overall? Damn. Our age should be doing better than that…

Moderator5'10", 200 lbs, and 27 years… I got beat out by 8 yr old's ironically… But some people were like 7' tall, no chance against those kind of odds…
Anyways LYS, did you ever make a walkthrough of the Rise of Ieyasu mod or retry the Rise of Lu Bu 2.0 mod? You've gotta keep up on those picture walkthroughs :)
