ModeratorQuote:That's a great idea about the *** INT cannot be An Sha'ed. 240 should definitely be the limit (which would make sense, being that tacticians at 240 or above INT can't use An Sha). Or maybe 245 is more reasonable. Could be a good poll question.Perhaps a STR and AGI threshold could be made as well? That way superstar generals can't be An-Sha'd. I'm thinking something like:
STR: >= 240 can't be An-Sha'd
INT: >= 220 can't be An-Sha'd
AGI: >= 230 can't be An-Sha'd
For enemies. It would have to be more strict for allies. Maybe something like:
STR: >= 250 can't be An-Sha'd
INT: >= 240 can't be An-Sha'd
AGI: >= 245 can't be An-Sha'd
Then we probably would only use the list for rulers that don't meet superstar status (like Liu Zhang or something) as the really talented guys like Sima Yi, Cao Pi, Sun Quan would already be covered by the STR/INT/AGI thresholds.
I just think that walking through Wu and Wei An-Sha'ing everybody is cheap so these kind of thresholds would put a stop to that (except for weak-mediocre generals).
This should be a fairly easy enhancement to implement as Meteorstrike has already outlined the An Sha check location. We'd just have to find space and expand it to make the STR/INT/AGI checks.

To me, that's a great idea. Otherwise those 230+ STR, sub-100 INT guys are way too easy to off. I'd say 230 or 235 for INT threshold though, a guy with 221 INT we should be able to An Sha (even then, it won't be easy). Because I know for sure I run out of Un An Sha-able's pretty quick so this would be a much easier way to do it.

I got a great idea. This is the last thing Yuan Shao / Liu Bei says after you go to Chang Sha to get the up up down down left right up down code. What if you had the recruit prompt? How much ass would that kick for Yuan Shao to come out and fight with Cao Cao now that Cao Cao is out there? I don't know, seems pretty awesome to me. Potential issues being; what happens in Luo Yang after the final battle? Is Yuan Shao still in the throne? This would be the only time you would need to talk to him again in the throne room. 2nd issue would be that his soldier count is static so it'd still be 460 or whatever you had it at (or maybe it wasn't static? I dunno. If that's the case then this wouldn't be an issue).
Between that and the Yan Liang / Wen Chou assassination, I think you gotta make those things happen lol! Just would be great for the storyline.

Lot of these types of weak gate battles. Enemy officers need much larger soldier totals, and a lot of their AP's are set at 190. I'd make everyone in Wei 250 or 240 at worst, to make those weak characters more than a speed bump. The guys with 250 like Xu Zhu take off 5000-6000 which is great balance wise, whereas Xu Huang at 240 was taking off 2500 soldiers per hit which wasn't really a factor (first Cao Cao battle).
Wei in general was weird difficulty wise. The first part was hard. The 2nd part got easy, with the assistance of Rally, the new weapons, and the new damage algorithm. It seems damage is like 2x what it normally is? I mowed down Cao Cao in a few rounds. Those later Wei officers could use higher A.C. (that said, they are potent and I died and was close to dying a few times so they certainly are tough offensively-speaking).

This was about where it started to get a bit easy. Xun You sprite works good here.

Recruited Guan Yu in battle and used him. His stats are like identical to Zhang He's but he has ~5000 more soldiers.

Think there is a way to get him to appear a step over (on the throne) instead of awkwardly next to it? Not a big deal of course just curious.

ModeratorThanks for playing again. I'll check on the little bugs you found.
I'm not sure how hard it would be to the the Guan Yu, Yan Liang, Wen Chou thing. I think they'd have to be in your party for it to work right, otherwise there would be a lot of new code. Not sure about recruiting Yuan Shao at the end because the original Liu Bei isn't a general per say, he's just a guy that talks. Of course you could replace him with a general but I never figured out how.
But I *am* able to replace generals in Chang Sha and Gui Yang. I left the throne empty in Chang Sha and added a new ally in Gui Yang (not sure if you talked to him).
I did make the gate battles fairly easy, especially after long walks. I'm not as sadistic as you with that… :twisted:

It would almost be worth it to make them un-billetable until that Wu Ling battle vs. Guan Yu and have them be murdered and off the officer list afterward.

I'm not as sadistic as you with that…Haha, well, it wouldn't be so bad once I add the Fortress Inn to the middle tent at Chen Liu (and maybe He Fei, I know you put it in both places). I assume the warp code for the Fort-Inn is somewhere on the front page of DoaE hacking guide?

That way they aren't locked into your party for too long. It would probably require a bunch of code changes and I would probably prefer to work on other stuff first (like the An-Sha list thing and smarter A.I.).
Quote:I assume the warp code for the Fort-Inn is somewhere on the front page of DoaE hacking guide?I just looked it up in the game and switched it. Those 2 places need inns!

Quote:I just looked it up in the game and switched it. Those 2 places need inns!So we can find warp locations through the hex editor in fce ultra? Hmm, thought we could just find the spot that we are standing on. I'll have to look into it to get a better understanding.

It shouldn't be hard. I can get you the addresses if you can't find it.

ParticipantYa know, this is a minor error to fix, but when you speak to the first guy when you enter the game form the original story, he still comments on "He Jin's" castle being to the west… its to the east, lol… not sure if you ever want to fix that.

ModeratorYou're right. I didn't think of that after I moved the castle.

InactiveJust a quick question midnight, is there any way you could make the link to this mod on a different site? I'm trying to download it on my android phone but it won't allow it.
