ModeratorYou’re suggesting against playing your own hack?
Only because I know about bugs in version 2.0 and know that 3.0 will be much better.

ModeratorStill working on this. We’ve made a lot of progress over the holidays. Here’s the current status:
Chapters 1-5 – pretty much done but still testing.
Chapters 6-7 – battles are set up, world map mostly done, some caves being updated

ModeratorIntroduced some new “economics” with this one. I credit Pha for this idea. The idea is that there is no reward in DOAE for fighting generals vs bandits in random battles even though generals are likely to be much harder. So the idea is to give extra goodies for beating actual generals. The gold part wasn’t so hard to do but it was really hard tracking down the code decision on whether to give rations or not. That said here are the changes:

– If there is one enemy general at the top of the enemy formation always give rations even in random battles (it didn’t do this before)
– If there is ONE enemy general at the top of the enemy formation give 1/8th more gold and a few more rations.
– If there are TWO enemy generals at the top of the enemy formation, give 1/4th more gold and a few more rations.
– If there are THREE enemy generals at the top of the enemy formation, give 3/8ths more gold and a few more rations.
– To offset this I decreased overall gold allocation a bit so that you don’t end up loaded with gold that you cannot spend.
– To offset officers always dumping food I doubled the overall food consumption (this may need to be tested/adjusted).February 17, 2022 at 2:08 pm #54954Jaggernaut

ModeratorYep we are still slowly / gradually making progress here. We are dedicated to finishing this mod. Where were are now:
Chapters 1-6 pretty much done although some cave warps have broken that we need to fix. There have been some testers giving us feedback with things to tweak.
Chapter 7 is mostly done. A couple of cave updates needed and more testing.
Chapter 8 is work in progress. Major map changes happening and more testing / event coding in the works.

ParticipantWow, Here going Great hard work. Yeah, the caves and their warps, greatly filled with difficulties to arrange and fix, those one cave warp after three brothers battle is a hard 1 though too. Well, then We will click-click another games up until this is done.

ModeratorMost of the main map work is done. To be honest haven’t touched the ROM in a few weeks due to work issues, etc… I’m carving out some time in August to finish this up. Looking at a tentative late August release date :)

ModeratorThis one was a huge effort with lots of updates going to version 3.0. Honestly I’m burnt out but I’m going to push through in the last month to get it done. Also Boneduke’s help on the maps helped tremendously. The mod has had a major overhaul since 2.0 and now rivals some of the best mods made (in my not so humble opinion).

ModeratorMod is currently playable to the end. Some testers are going to give it a final run this weekend then I’ll use the last week to make minor tweaks based on their feedback.
