I start playing the Wei mod and I discover more items through the "Check" command. These "check" items are actually available long before the Nan Castle. Here are my recent discoveries:
Luo Yang (Cheng Du in the Wei Mod): Copper Sabre (no need to purchase for Guan Yu because we can pick it up with "check")
Jing Zhou (Xu Chang in We Mod): Iron Sword (so powerful against the three gangster groups and enemies at the Chi Bi stage)
Xin Ye (before construction starts, Luo Yang in Wei Mod): Iron Armour (powerful armour at that point of the game)
More items later.
I duplicate fifteen copies of Zheng’s Letter. Let me try recruiting generals once I have access to a billet. But this will take a while. I just arrived at "Luo Yang" (Jing Zhou in the original DOAE2) and "Xu Chang" (Xin Ye in the original DOAE2). The Han Emperor asked me to battle Yuan Shu in the three villages. Poor Yuan Shu, he is not spared from death even in the Wei Mod.
Ok, the games work fine now. I just started the Wei mod. If I discover some tricks in this version, I will share in this forum.
TaiShi Ci, I downloaded the mods from these two places that you mentioned. But they did not work because I do not have a patch program. What is this SNESTL and where can I find it?
Wow, I would like to try these two mods. Where can I download them and how can I get them to work? I downloaded the Wei mod at infoseek.jp but failed to get it working.

Who Am I?
His name is "Deng Ai". In ROTK, he is known for conquering Shu by taking a secret mountainous passage. He forced Liu Chan to surrender.
Some generals, both Liu Bei’s and the enemies’, favour certain terrains. When they encounter their favourite terrains in a battle, their HP bars turn yellow.
For instance, Zhang Fei favours mountains. Guan Yu and Zhao Yun favour plains. You can find out each general’s favourite terrain by checking their profiles. Some enemy generals, particularly the ones in the Chi Bi section, favour waters.
I usually leave the exact locations of these items in suspense. But the rebuilt Xin Ye is big. I will tell you where the steel armour is located.
You can find it along the southern edge of the castle. There are many trees. You starting counting from the bottom right corner. There is a space between each tree. The steel armour is located between the second and the third tree, from the bottom right corner by the southern wall.
By altering a Chinese emulator, I can increase my level to 99 and continue to play the game normally.
It does not involve genie codes that Zhang Lu suggests. But I do not know how to describe this modification in English.
Just to clarify, I have never tried a low level game. In fact, I am so busy with school, work, and writing that I have virtually no time to play DOAE2.
But this is a good idea: a low level and worst generals’ game. I believe that we cannot really start until the Wei stage. We cannot take out Guan Yu and Zhang Fei when they are in the lineup. Let’s see how far you can reach with a low level and a roster of Chen Deng, Zhou Cang, Guan Ping, Yi Ji, Liao Hua, Guan Xing/Guan Suo, and Zhuge Liang.
Crossbow becomes an important asset in such a game. Let me say a word for the crossbow. Its success is based on a general’s intelligence. Therefore, we should let Zhuge Liang carry it. We can usually give the crossbow to Jiang Wei, Zhao Yun, Ma Liang, or Pang Tong (revived at An Ding with Zheng’s Letter).
I have done it before. The result is: they come again until we retreat. If we keep fighting, we will use up our TPs and lose.
I did this by altering my Chinese emulator, which allows me to increase EXP points.
Well, I don’t have high hopes on the Randy Moss-Aaron Brooks combination. Brooks is way too inaccurate as a quarterback. He threw more interceptions than touchdowns last year.
I actually like the Giants (the G
Men) a little bit. I enjoyed watching Lawrence Taylor and the Giants’ defence in the eighties. Ironically, the current Giants’ weakest area is the defensive secondary. Hopefully the new acquisitions (Madison, Demps) will strengthen it.
