Lunar Silver Story Sega CD Walkthrough
Destinations > Nanza : Nanza Barrier : Reza : Iluk : Desert : Meryod : Damon’s Spire : Red Dragon Cave < Destinations
This is where Alex’s journey to be a Dragon Master really begins. After the debacle in Caldor Isle and Burg especially, head to Vane to talk to Nash and Mia. They’ll join you, and if you go to Meribia you can get Jessica (since Xenobia (Vile Tribe Leader) stoned her dad Mel). Pretty solid party now, I’d equip that Fire Cane on Nash and then the Magic Robe on either Nash or Jessica. Sell all the junk you’ve inevitably accumulated, unless you already did that. Buy a few Mirror Shield’s if you can and get on your way to the south (past that floating thing) and to Nanza.
In Nanza, go to the east house to get a Hyram Nut to increase agility. Then go to the center house and go left. Talk to Kyle, who knows Jessica and will join if you talk to him a few times. He’s a beast physically, so you’ll want him either in position 1 or 2. After that, put Mia in 5, and then either Jessica or Nash in spot 3 and 4, depending on which of them is better equipped defensively.
By the way, now that you have Kyle, you can open the red treasure chests from now on. To backtrack, there is a Vigor Peach and Recovery Cane (great for Mia) at the Weird Woods. Mel’s Mansion has two Jewel’s and a Diamond Ring. Finally, in the Meribian Sewers via the mansion you can acquire another Diamond Ring and the Earth Cane (big upgrade over the Fire Cane).
Back to the Nanza Barrier now. Not too tough to navigate your way through here. Herb is to your east, while another Herb is along the path. Take the northern-most path when you get the choice, and grab the Putrid Lunch and then go to the next floor. On the first floor, take the northern path for a Starlight and then take the northern path at the split to get to the exit. Now on this floor, go east for a Calm Herb quick, and then go back and north to get out.
You are now in Marius Zone. A little south of where you are is Iluk, where you should probably get Alex a Scimitar, Nash a Crossbow and Jessica a Mace. Before you leave the southeastern house has an Alcana Nut to increase someone’s magic.
East of here is Reza, where you will have your Dragon Wings pickpocketed by a thief. Okay, well go to the far north of town to the building with the cup (the pub). Talk to everyone and you’ll see Laike again. You won’t be able to go to the thieve’s bazaar upstairs yet, but if you go back downstairs you can get the bartender’s permission to go up there. Now try to get the treasure in the southwest and Kyle will eventually get it open. It’s the Thieve’s Crest which will allow you to validate yourself and go the the bazaar upstairs. Grab the Itaka Nut in the northeast corner and talk to the dude just west of this and east of where you entered. You’ll recognize him from Nanza and Kyle will make him give you the Dragon Wings back. Before you leave, buy two Iron Gauntlets and two Iron Armors if you can afford it. Head to Iluk now.
Talk to the guy in the northeast house who mentions something about a balloon and a Giant Root. So, leave town and go to the sand dunes to the east. Fight around for a while and eventually a Giant Root will be the war spoils against these Man-Eater Plants. Return back and you’ll get to ride the balloon that that guy made. It’ll crash in Reza though.
Leave this place and go to the northeast. You’ll be in a port city named Meryod and when you attempt to cross the bridge to the east your party will break the bridge. Now you’ll have to find them scattered throughout the village (not hard). The annoying part is re-ordering them all (which is an annoyance at any time). Talk to the carpenter in the southeast to tell him to re-build the bridge and then go back to Reza.
Okay, talk to Laike a few times until he mentions the guy in Iluk. Before you depart, go to the thieves guild and buy a Rain Cloud and talk to the guy in Iluk about getting to the Red Dragon’s Cave. Go to Meryod’s bar where a blue-haired guy will mention Damon’s Spire.
From Meryod you’re going to want to work your way south and a little west through some canyon areas until you get to a point with water on your left and a green thing floating. Turns out this is a turtle and if you search it, it’ll take you west via water, right next to Damon’s Spire. Furthermore, this is a great level up spot with an Althena Shrine being a stones throw to the east. You can explore further south but check Damon’s Spire to advance.
Inside you’ll be presented with a forested area. Head east and take the lower path, continuing east and then north. Take the west path, and then go north and east and north again to get to the tower. There are no items in here so just go straight in. On the first floor, grab the Dover Nut (defense increase) and go east and take the stairs down. Go south and hit the switch, then go back to the split and take the west path this time. Take this south and east until you get to the very south part, and then west. You’ll reach some stairs and before that a Holy Smoke.
Keep following the path west until you get to the outside wall, and take that north and follow it until you find a Silver Light. Backtrack to the switch just before that item, and hit it. Now backtrack to the stairs to the southwest, and go up them. You’ll notice that door closed so you can walk over it now, and do so continuing east. Take the south path for a Mint Essence. Now to get the Spire Key in the southwest portion of the map, you must do so with many of the doors closed (including the one at the beginning). Mess around with the switches, there are two per door, one from each side. Nothing too tough, you’ll end up working your way to the northeast and then south and finally west against the wall to get it.
Back on the first floor now, take the west path up the stairs this time. On the second floor you can go east to the exit, but go south first to get two Silver Lights and some Sun Drops. The third floor is simple, go south, west, then north to get out on the opposite side you entered. The fourth floor has an Ice Cane to the south, and to the east is a door. Use that Spire Key to open it and you’ll meet Damon. He knows a lot of things and he’ll help you out. Grab the Vigor Peach by him and then leave.
Outside, rest up at the Althena Shrine to the east and then go south past the turtle that transported you. Move west and then north through the mountains. In the southwest part of this area you’ll find an HP Recovery Spot and to the north is an MP Recovery Spot and the Red Dragon Cave.
Another good spot to level up with that MP Recovery Spot so close. Anyway, on the first floor use the Rain Cloud to advance to the basement. Go east and south to get a Jasmine, and then go back to the stairs and go south, east, and then north to another stairway leading down. Go south and west for a Calm Herb, and then north to another staircase down. Simple path that leads to another staircase to the fourth basement level. Go west to grab the Sage’s Clothes, and then return back to the second basement level. Go east upon entering this second basement level, and enter the nearby staircase. Go to the west at the fork and through the staircase.
Then, go east keeping south for a Jasmine. Return to the previous screen and go east and then south for some Sun Drops, and then north through the stairs. Go west and take the north path for a Silver Light and then take the south path for more stairs. Follow the path for a Calm Herb and then continue east through some stairs, and then through the next linear path also until you get to the Jewel. Return all the way back to basement level with the Silver Light chest, and take the middle path going west. Follow this until you get to a staircase, which you should take for a Mint Essence. Now go west for another staircase, which you should take east for a Jasmine and then north for the stairs. Work your way east, taking the north path for an Herb of Althena. Return to the intersection before this and go south for the stairs. Just follow the path at this point, you’ll be at an area similar to what you had in the White Dragon’s Lair. Eventually you’ll get to a burning spirit, the spirit of the Red Dragon! He’ll give you his power, and you’ll get the Red Dragon Shield and the Dragon Fire spell. Dat’s a good deal for Alex, I’d say. Anyway return back and use Psychotron or whatever to get out of the cave. Reza is your next destination.
I can’t get the guy in the house to mention the ROOT so I can’t go get the ROOT. >.<
