You’re supposed to check out Reza now. Go up to the Thieves Guild and talk to Xenobia who will flee. Back to Meryod, where the bridge will be fixed! On the east end of town is a weapon shop, a fine one at that. Expensive though, but the Great Sword and the Samurai Blade are fabulous for Kyle and Alex respectively.
To continue, go east across that bridge and then east of Meryod will lead you to one path really. There’s a bathing area for females and you can see some hot pics if you have Soap with you. I unfortunately never found that Soap :(, or maybe I sold it. The Transmission Spring north of this won’t work, but keep following the path until you get to Lyton. Talk to the magician in the northernmost house a few times, and once he knows you’re Alex he’ll break the curse on you and allow you to venture to the Blue Dragon Cave. Outside of town, you’ll notice you can cross the shoals in the northwest to get to the various HP Recovery Points and the MP Recovery Point in the northwest island, and the Blue Dragon Cave in the waterfall to the northeast.
Try to converse your HP/MP in this cave; you’ll be tested at the end. Go west upon entry for a set of Sage’s Clothes that should be useful to you. Back at the entrance, go south all the way and then west all the way for a Jasmine. Take the north path just east of this for the staircase. In the second basement floor, go south and then all the way east for a Holy Water. North to the staircase, and in B3 go down for a Starlight when you enter. Go south and then all the way west and north for a Light Barrier. Back at the initial fork, a staircase is to your north.
Venture south and take the northeast path at the fork for a Power Barrier. Then, return to the fork and go southeast and then work your way northeast and all the way to the east for a Holy Flute. A bit west of here are two other paths, with the one closest to the staircase having a Silver Light. Work your way to the southeast now, you’ll be at a Holy Shield and the stairs. Give that to Jessica and rest up, a boss awaits.
It’s the Brainiac, and he really isn’t too tough. Alex and Kyle are probably best off attacking, while Nash can cast his best spells (Thunder Shot 2, Thunder Thrust) and so can Mia (Blizzard). Dragon Fire is useful with Alex, and Jessica can probably just heal or attack. Head up and talk to the Blue Dragon, who will give you the Dragon Tear spell and the Blue Dragon Helmet. Before you leave, un equip Nash. Why? Because when you walk a bit further south, Xenobia will arrive and Nash will leave you with the Dragon Helmet. Why didn’t anyone stop the prick?
Your party is demoralized from the wasted effort, so Psychotron out of the cave and rest up. Go to Lyton, but continue to the southeast until you get to Tamur. Head east, north and west and talk to Tempest. He’ll challenge you to a “fight”, which consists of the two of you walking over eachother. Exciting. Well he’s your friend now so that’s great, but head back to town and go north into the top building. Laike will throw a proposition at you so accept it and he’ll join and the other three will wait. Exit via the north part of town and follow the path to Myght’s Lab.
Okay, this lab can be a little tricky. If you fall through some of the tubes you’ll end up on the first floor, so follow the directions carefully and you’ll make it to the end easily. And when I say “Continue”, that means don’t stray from the path. Go north when you enter to the second floor. Now, go east, south, continue, south, north, continue, south, west, south, continue. Now on the third floor, go north, north, west, east, continue, north, south, south, east, continue, east, and you’ll jump in the tube. Now on the second floor, go north, east, south and east.
Third floor again, go west, south and fall in the tube. Second floor one more time, go east, continue, west, and then north. Third floor, go east, south, east, east and north. Did that work? Well talk to Myght a few times and he’ll agree to get the balloon for Alex thanks to Laike. Now go to the west and onto the roof to have a confrontation with Ghaleon. He’ll try to get Laike to turn against you but Laike’s got your back. Leave the lab now and back to Tamur.
Laike will split but will commend you on your potential. Back at his house talk to the other three to get them back, and Nash will walk in after this with some information. Just say you trust him and he’ll hand back the Dragon Helmet and rejoin. By the way, with Kyle back in your party you can get the red treasure (Music Box) in Myght’s Lab 2nd floor if you wish. Really though, it’s not worth your time.
To continue, go to Lyton and head northeast of here to the Prairie Cave. You’ll get all sorts of updates regarding Tempest and Fresca. This cave is pretty linear, nothing to find, just continue north and talk to the people along the way. Enter Pao which will be to your right on the overworld map. Head to the northwest to talk to Fresca who will mention Tempest going to the Dark Cave. In the northeast is the cleric or whatever of the village, and as you talk to her Jessica and Mia will be inflicted with this female-only disease. You must get the seal but fear not, you can easily power your way through anyone with this group.
Okay, to the northeast is Grimzol’s Cave, and it’s a long one with a boss at the end. Conserve your MP or run from the majority of the battles; remember, there is an Althena Shrine to the west of this place if you need to use it. Inside the Grimzol Cave, go south for a Jasmine. Continue east and northeast for a Pixie’s Bow. Go north and then east along the north wall, and go north when you can. Get the Holy Water. Further west is a Pixie’s Whip, and when you go northeast you’ll see Tempest who will join. Give him that whip you just got and go in the stairs.
On the second floor, go west and go in the stairs. East for a Holy Water, and go all the way south for a Cascade Ring. Return back to that staircase. East a little and south for a Starlight. Then southwest for a Holy Smoke, and then east and north for the stairs. To the north is an Herb of Althena and to the southwest are a Starlight and Jasmine. Return back to the stairs and go west and north for a Calm Herb. Back south, go west a little and then north for a Holy Water and another staircase.
Go west until you hit a wall and then north for a Wind Essence. South all the way for a Calm Herb and keep following it around and take the south path going east for a Mint Essence. Go east and follow this path as it goes northeast, and take the middle north path to get a Holy Flute. Go all the way south and then east for a Silver Light, and then go back and north and east again, and follow this path all the way north against the east wall and you’ll get an Insane Sword. This is awesome for Kyle. Go north against the east wall and you’ll get to the stairs, which you should save and rest before you enter. The Inca God isn’t too tough, just attack with everyone and you should be fine. A Goddess Seal is your reward, so use the Wind Essence to get out (but un equip Tempest).
Back in Pao, talk to that blonde in the northeast hut to revive the village. Talk to your two girls and they’ll rejoin. Also talk to the other girl laying on the floor and she’ll take you to the well to the west of this house. Talking to her again, she’ll give you the Mirage Potion. You can use this in the transmission spring to the northeast of Meryod!
When you do use it in the west pool, it’ll get water in there and you can transfer to the Dark Cave. Go north and work your way to the northwest wall where there are a set of stairs. Go straight south for a Mint Essence and return to the previous floor. Now go back south and east a little and then north for another staircase.
Go to the southwest for a Holy Smoke and then the southeast in the Jasmine. Go to the east and north for a staircase, and then all the way south for the Calm Herb. East a little and in the southeast is a Starlight, and in the northeast corner is the stairs. Go west and ignore the stairs, and you’ll work your way south for a Calm Herb, and then follow the wall west for a Silver Light. Return back to those stairs we ignored and go in them.
Now go west, ignoring the stairs yet again, this time to a Holy Smoke. Continue against the wall for a Calm Herb and some stairs further west. Follow the path to a Snake Ring and return to those stairs in the previous floor that you ignored. Go west along the wall and in the stairs. Now go to the northeast part of this new floor for more stairs. In the southeast is a Calm Herb on this final floor, and in the north a Holy Flute. The exit is in the northwest and now you’re in The Frontier.
