ModeratorLong story short, my main computer is as dead as a pro-Nixon campaign. Although the hard drive probably survived (and it should have, the Jin Xuan mod is on hold until I get the computer fixed or replaced. And if the hard drive is not recoverable, then the mod is dead too.
No, I don’t like this either!

Keymaster*tear* – why couldn’t you just download the version I have uploaded? Or did you have other work like portraits, sprites, etc that you lost? (or rather, is on the f’ed up computer’s hard drive).

ModeratorThere’s too much other stuff (portraits, bonuses, list of who goes where, etc.) to revive it without that hard drive — which also has a ton of irreplacable non-DoaE stuff too! x_x

KeymasterEh, that’s weak. You can’t let that deter you.

ModeratorUPDATE: Because of how the computer just died, it simply cannot be the hard drive. I’ve been thinking of upgrading anyway (the computer’s ~3.5 years old), so I’ll get a new one and transfer the hard drives over. And then, the Jin Xuan mod will resume!

KeymasterAlright I’m gonna give this a run through I think.
What is this Bonus 1.7z file I see that you sent me with it? Porn? Virus?
Is it Jin Zoo-ahn? Or Jin Wh-ahn? The former right?

KeymasterAlright, I played through Dong Zhuo’s area. Early on it doesn’t seem that different, with just a few guys switched around. But towards Chang An it is pretty cool. Chang An and the gate before Chang An are beefed up big time. I was expecting some tough battles, but the problem with those officers is that despite their huge soldier counts, they don’t do much damage. Zhang Xiu in particular does 10 damage with his Ax + 60 STR!!! You should give them 40 or 50 attack power so that they are more formidable – Jin Xuan has a strong enough army to handle it especially once you acquire Ye Huo. Ye Huo and Shui Xing makes crappy-STR-but-decent-INT-officers like Qiao Mao quite powerful.
I really like how you changed all the text before gate battles. How the hell do you do that? And how do you add / minus officers from gate battles for that matter? I know you and James have done it before but I have no idea. It must be that you guys are able to do it through WindHex by finding the exact battle in the code and adding the new officers to it??…….It would open up a lot more things. Especially the text before battle – the generic phrases get old and don’t tell much aka "prepare to die!" and "tell liu bei how terrible xing dao rong is"
I like the mod though, it’s a little on the easy side but that could be changed just by giving the enemies stronger weapons making them more formidable. It’s about as easy as the original DoaE so that’s fine too, it doesn’t have to be challenging.
Oh and the generic tactician / melee fighter portraits still bug me. You gotta restore the random DoaE portraits! Just my opinion. Looking forward to your response and the new Jin Xuan mod, when you get our PC back in order.
