ModeratorOK Behead is waaaaay overpowered.
EDIT: And Destroy too… The first enemies that have these I pretty much have to restart the battle if they use one of these. Lots of luck involved.
And damn you sonic. I'm up until almost 3am playing this and I have to work tomorrow. Your mod is too addicting!
Oh, and I still haven't had a freeze and I'm on chapter 6 or 7 I think.
My party right now is:
SQ
GN
DF
ZT
LX
* LM
Some questions…
1. Does Red Hare exist? Can't seem to find it.
2. I saw a merchant who had steeds and war manuals early in the game but now can't remember where. What does a War Manual do?

ModeratorJust had my first freeze. Don't know what caused it, I was using focus. I have to have tracing on, etc… to catch it.

ModeratorJust went back and recruited Red Hare and it has 61k soldiers while the rest of my party has 4-8k!!!

ModeratorOf course Lu Bu is overpowered but I'd expect no less from you. His Musou is a party killer.
EDIT: Seems impossible at this point, maybe I should come back later for Lu Bu.

ModeratorIf Behead is overpowered, you can always change the formula. My suggestion? Give it an additional check — say, a (soldiers) out of (max soldiers) chance of failing. After all, the smaller the army, the easier it'd be to reach the general.

There's a handful of enemy tactics in this mod that can pretty much wipe out your party in one shot so you have to depend on luck (or save state cheating) to avoid it.
– Behead (on all)
– Destroy (first enemies that use it at least)
– Lu Bu's Musou
I would change Behead back to target one (I never intended for the formula to be used for target all) and tone down the last two a bit so that people don't have to resort to save state cheating.

ModeratorSteeds are not hitting twice again. Are they supposed to?
And another question…
Did I miss Lu Su? I see him in the first post but I'm in Shu and I've never seen him. Wondering if I missed him on a recruiting chain.

Zhang Hong or Lu Su or found by backtracking to previous towns via an officer recruitment chain. They are pretty overpowered so they are meant to be somewhat hidden. War Manuals are the Red Hare replacement. I'll have to fix the steeds as the IPS patch made them only single hit items.
In terms of Behead and Destroy, Behead is a tactic the player will never get, but it acts as a great equalizer for using pure bruiser parties and also makes the 1 on 5 officer fights more interesting. Destroy on the other hand is rarely used by the game and adds a random kill-all if the enemy happens to use it, however, success is low b/c of officer INT usually.
I'm glad it's TOO addicting as it hopefully means I did something right this time with a mod >_>
Gonna fix that steed thing ASAP

If you encountered him in a unique location, yeah, it's supposed to be near impossible, but not a mandatory fight.

ModeratorOuch, changing steeds makes quite a large difference… Change 55E2 to 2C
April 16, 2013 at 12:29 am #43415sonic.penguin
ModeratorFixed that Red Hare issue, now you won't encounter it
Fixed the Gullwing typo
Fixed the Steed issue.

ModeratorHonestly, I might have to go through and rebalance things w/ that Steed issue… I mean, the game was pretty tough w/ out it and adding it in might make it TOO easy. If you added those changes to the hex (and you haven't finished the whole mod yet… arrrgh, a years work down in less than 24 hrs) then I'd like to know how difficult the end of the game is.

ModeratorThe steed thing makes more of a difference during all-out, not so much the big battles. If it's all tested without the uber steeds then why not just take out the double hit thing? You'r call :)
April 16, 2013 at 3:25 am #43418shifter420
Participanti think u should leave the double hit in for steeds. sonic's version of "too easy" translates into "no headaches from uber difficult battles" :-)

ModeratorQuote:i think u should leave the double hit in for steeds. sonic's version of "too easy" translates into "no headaches from uber difficult battles"Good point. There are definitely some twisted, sadistic battles in this mod.
Heck, we probably need triple or quadruple hit steeds for some of these battles. Uber horsies.
