There should be a couple of more challenging battles towards the end of Wu.
Just finished Wu. Surprising battle in place of Lu Meng hehe, but the gate battles and pirate battles were just fodder for tactics once I picked up Zhou Yu/Zhang Zhao and Taishi Ci who has like 3x as many soldiers as the Yuan guys which made me dump most of them except Zhang He and Yuan Shang who is like as powerful as Zhao Yun hehe.
end-of Wu fight seemed like it would be rough but wound up going all out once the "bodyguards" were essentially gone. Having no Wan Fu made them drop pretty fast w/ the exception of the 252 int guy :)
Just my opinion, but giving an officer with barely 100 int tactics essentilly makes them a waste of an officer because
A. The tactics are weak and worthless
B. The tactics always miss your super-high-compared-to-their-dumbness people that they spend turn after turn wasting those uselss tactics on, especially in Wei.
For example, Yue Jin with Scorch defending a castle of Wei?
Good point regarding the tactics. Yue Jin was probably an oversight. Ya he shouldn't have tactics.
Fought a bunch of Wei battles with outdated armor, didn't seem to matter too much.
Gate before Guan du had lowbies as well. Yu Jins portrait is messed up as well, top half zhou tai, bottom half im guessing what you meant for him. I dont know a lot about Guan Du but I thought I would at least see the Xaihou bro's there in the battle. Maybe Guan Yu couldve had like 250ap or something to make it more like he was the butcher there.
Gates leading up to (what used to be Ru Nan) need some beefier generals possibly and even @ the main battle there they all are using Scorch or Flame q.q.
Behead essentially never fails vs. these guys either.
Liu Bei seems kind of underpowered compared to other generals that are acquired at this point as well.
Cao Cao/Hong scene was funny haha.
I hope if MidKnight could figure out a way to make "retreat" always successful.

Just beat the game and I actually like the "Lu Bu and Zhang Yan" show. It's quite funny, I always thought that there have only been Zhang Fei who challenged Lu Bu to a death fight but Zhang Yan in this mod proved he's a brave warrior too, in real life Lu Bu would absolutely own this duel though.

Zhang Yan was a badazz dude and this mod reflects that.

Oh I haven't heard that before despite knowing that Lu Bu actually served under Yuan Shao for a short time after Li Yue and Guo Si took the imperial command. Then Zhang Yan was undoubtedly a good fighter.

If and when I ever get back to the Gongsun Zan mod, Zhang Yan would play a big role there as well.

Yeah and if he were with Gongsun Zan from the start like the Yuan Shao mod then we can avoid battling him again 'cause he gave me lots trouble when I fought against him, his strength back to then was a bit too overwhelming for me to handle even I got Lu Bu on my side. No one would want to get involved into combat with such force. Staying in the background if possible when encountering strong opponents is always a good idea.

started playing the mod a day ago or so
up to yuan shu area.
so far it seems like a decent adaptation of the original to a diff plot line without changing the difficulty too much… yet requiring slightly different strategies.
so far so good :)
