ParticipantI’m gonna come up with a walkthrough for you guys who play this mod. I’ll be adding onto it every chance I get.
Destiny of an Emperor: Lu Bu Edition WALKTHROUGH
You start in Lou Sang, as usual. Your mommy tells you to kill the "Yellow Turbans", but they’re already dead. Senile woman she is :P. Your real objective: Eliminate Dong Zhuo. Many typos will appear. Ignore them.
You are Ding Yuan, and your first two generals alongside you are Zhang Yan (205/155) and Wang Kuang (190/170). Both are very solid warriors. You’re not too bad yourself, at 200/180. Problem is: None of you can be tacticians. Do yourself a favor next, and talk to the two warriors where Song Ren and Song Yong usually are. They are Yang Feng and Yu She, and they want to join you. Let them. Yang Feng is a bruiser (200/75), and so is Yu She (210/85). Head over to Xuzhou.
Once in Xuzhou, talk to Tao Qian (somehow called Lu Yi). He’ll tell you the same thing your mother told you, eliminate Dong Zhuo (Yellow Turbans). This time though, he’s willing to give you Xuzhou if you do. You might wanna do this. When you’re done with Tao Qian, head into the house to the left. You’ll meet Lu LingQi. Let her join you, she rules (230/215)…but even SHE cannot be a tactician! We’re in trouble without tactics, right? RIGHT?!?
Problem solved…go gain a level fighting rebels. You only need 20 EXP. Buy a flail for Lu LingQi, and a robe for Ding Yuan. Give the spare dagger Ding Yuan has to Yu She, and leave Yang Feng out of combat for now. Start fighting bandits and rebels. You’ll gain a level soon enough. Might want to gain another level before you do any serious fighting. Get yourself to level 3. When you have enough money, go back and buy a robe for Lu LingQi or Yu She. Hope that you don’t run into any actual officers, because at this point your party might not be strong enough to have a chance against them. Head north, and prepare for your first true test.
Qing Zhou
Jia Xu
Rebels x2
When we have a look at Jia Xu, we say to ourselves…thank god we’re not using tactics, because they would NEVER work on this guy. That 245 intelligence means that you’re going to get hit with tactics…OFTEN. They shouldn’t hurt too bad though. Jia Xu has terrible strength, so even if you get hit with tactics, he will use regular attacks eventually, and he’ll be feeble. Wear him down with your normal attacks and you’ll win. You should gain a level for beating him :)
Enter Qing Zhou, but DO NOT talk to the guy standing on the left just yet. Let’s make our way to the house on the right. The warrior standing to the left of the old man is Zhu Jun (200/180). Let him join. He is built similar to Ding Yuan, and will be a solid warrior for you. You can now give Yu She’s equipment to him. Rest at the inn, then talk to the warrior-like guy. It’s Li Su, and he’s going to kill you.
Qing Zhou #2
Li Su
Rebels x4
Do not be alarmed by Li Su’s incredibly high HP for this region. He’s a wuss. At 85 STR and 30 INT, he doesn’t have a prayer. All out him, don’t worry about any casualties, as you’d have to be pretty bad to have any against him. Reap the rewards as you gain another level. Those were easy…our trek to the west won’t be. Dong Min awaits at Mt. Da Xing.
Mt. Da Xing
Dong Min
Hua Xiong
Rebels
Dong Min won’t be a threat, but Hua Xiong is. A 230 STR is nothing to scoff at. Focus on him, then eliminate Dong Min, and a winner is you!
Enter Mt. Da Xing, and go into the middle tent. Go to the top right corner of the pots, search it for an Ax. Give that to Lu LingQi. Trust me. You may now give that flail to Zhu Jun. Mt. Da Xing has nothing more for you then. Go back, heal up, then head south. Along the way, kill any red-headed Brigands (they’re that way because I tried to edit the name and it got screwed up). Also, if you feel the need to, I believe you can try to recruit Hua Xiong. He won’t be of much use past this area though, even with that good strength, so I’d prefer that you pass him up. Meet Dong Zhuo at Tie Men Xia.
Tie Men Xia
Dong Zhuo
Li Jue
Li Ru
Rebels x2
Dong Zhuo and Li Jue can be a pain with their hits, but it’s Li Ru you should worry about, the first true tactician you could actually recruit. Even though the tactics are a threat, you MUST eliminate Dong Zhuo first. He has 30 for AP, and that’ll hit you hard, so hit him hard first. It’ll be hard to get through this battle without losing a general or two, but keep at it and you’ll win. Once in Tie Men Xia, go into the tent to the left, and you’ll see a chest. Open that for an Ax. Give that to Zhang Yan, and give his flail to either Yu She or Yang Feng. Hurry back to Xuzhou, but don’t be afraid to fight if you run into Li Ru. Get him to join you, even if it costs you some coins. You can now use tactics…that is, once you get him out of billeting. Put Yang Feng in Billeting, you won’t need him anymore, take Li Ru out. Li Ru will gain tactics as you go, and he also gains soldiers…not like you’d use him and his 5 STR in battle though. Put him in the front of your party right now and go into the cave that has popped up behind Qing Zhou. Talk to the red-headed Brigand (:P), and he’ll build a bridge for you. Make your way through the path, and at the fork in the road, go north to a chest. An Ax awaits. Give that to Ding Yuan. Now head either down or left, they’ll lead you to the same thing. Three men standing in your way. It’s Dong Zhuo, Jia Xu, and Dong Min. This is the easier of the two potential decisive battles. Talk to Dong Zhuo, and let the battle begin.
Cave behind Qing Zhou
Dong Zhuo
Jia Xu
Dong Min
Be aware of Jia Xu’s tactics. Also be aware of Dong Zhuo’s power. Focus on Jia Xu with 3 of your hitters, and have Lu LingQi and Zhu Jun/Ding Yuan use Lian Huo (if you have it) on Dong Zhuo. Don’t worry about Dong Min, he sucks. When you get down to 3-5 TP, don’t do Lian Huo anymore…use Chi Xin to cure. After that, attack Dong Zhuo at will. When he’s gone, all-out Dong Min because he sucks. There you go, you’ve beaten Dong Zhuo. You’re welcome :P
Head back to Xuzhou, killing bandits and rebels along the way. When in Xuzhou, go to the castle, and go into the back area. Tao Qian is resting because he’s dying. Agree to his request to take Xuzhou. No baozi fairy here, sorry. Ding Yuan will now leave your party to rule. Aww.
BUT DO NOT WORRY! Go down, and talk to the green guy. That, my friends, is Lu Bu! Let him join you, because after all, he’s the reason I made the ROM. Make him your leader because he’s cool and he has a unique portrait! You could put Lu LingQi second in your lineup because they’re kinda’ related in a father/daughter kind of way.

ParticipantChapter 2 – The Cao Cao Says…Moo!
After you’re done with everything in Xuzhou, we’ll head south…killing bandits and brigands along the way. Welcome to Fan Shui Gate. Talk to Sun Jing who complains about being betrayed by Liu Biao. That communist! Anyway, go to the gate, and you’ll get to fight.
Fan Shui Gate
Yu Jin
Yue Jin
Rebels x3
This will be a tough battle. Both are pretty strong, and are smarter than the bums (and Li Ru) that you fought in Dong Zhuo’s area. You might want to level up excessively, preferably to level 7. Focus all attacks on Yu Jin first. Heal using Chi Xin when necessary, then go for Yue Jin. All out when you feel confident you can mop them up.
Once in Fan Shui, go to the far north of the fortress, talk to the warrior-looking guy. That’s Cao Xing. He’ll want to join. Let him, but he sorta’ stinks. He’s behind everyone in your army right now. Now go into the Northeast tent. There’s a chest here, open it for an Ax. Give it to Zhu Jun or Wang Kuang. Nothing else here for you, so leave.
BEFORE you go into the cave, get Chi Tu Ma. Where you reappear on the world map, go down 1, left 3, down 1, left 2, up 1, and left 3. Check the ground. Now you have Chi Tu Ma, if you did it correctly. If you didn’t, you’re a dummy! (Just kidding :P)
Now we’re gonna go cave hopping. Go into the cave, and make your way all the way down. Get the Gold Key, and head out. Talk to the officer standing at the entrance on your way out though, he’ll join you. It’s Han Fu, one of the lesser lords. Too bad he sucks. Now that we’ve gotten all that fun out of our system, let’s go to Hu Lao Gate.
Hu Lao Gate
Zhang Liao
Jia Xu
Rebels x2
MEEP. Zhang Liao appears with Jia Xu. You have a reason to be scared, because Zhang Liao is uber strong, and won’t fall for any tactics. Jia Xu will also not be swayed by tactics, but he’s a weakling. However, he knows Ye Huo, so focus on him. Heal when necessary from Zhang Liao’s attacks, and all out once Zhang Liao is down to half soldiers and Jia Xu is down. A winner is you! You should have gained a level, and now you know Ye Huo. Even better, Jia Xu can now be recruited in a field battle. Enter Hu Lao Gate.
Inside, go directly to the right…and you’ll see Huo Hu. Let him join, then throw Yu She into the reserves, and put Huo Hu in your battle party. He rules! Huo Hu is now your tactical bruiser, with a 200 STR and a 230 INT. Other than that, unless you wanna talk to Wang Yun in the southwest tent, that’s really it. Go back to Fan Shui to rest if you need to, or go back to Xuzhou to upgrade your armor with your winnings. Either way, when you’re ready, head for Luo Yang. Once you reach the first gate, prepare for a battle.
Luo Yang First Gate
Li Dian
Rebels x3
Li Dian isn’t much of a threat, but he has good defense. All out him because he won’t hit too hard. Next.
Luo Yang Second Gate
Cao Ren
Rebels x2
Cao Ren will hit hard, but there’s still not much of a threat. Is this the best Cao Cao can do?!? All out, winner is you. Next.
Before we go into Luo Yang itself, let’s go back and heal, since Cao Ren probably hit hard for a bit. Get ready for a tough one.
Luo Yang Castle
Cao Cao
Zhang Liao
Rebels x2
This is a hard battle. Chances are, attacking tactics will be useless. Just attack Zhang Liao first, whittle him down to about 1/3 of his main soldier count, then focus on Cao Cao. Heal when necessary. Follow this advice, and you’ll win. Again, you’re welcome :P
Enter Luo Yang, it’s a mess. Now clean it up. No no no, don’t bother cleaning it up. Cao Cao burned it like the scum he is. In the southeastern corner, you’ll meet Zhang Miao. Let him join, even though he’ll earn a permanent place in your billeting. Just let him join because he’ll get lonely. Rest, then go into the Northwest house, use the Gold Key on the colored tile and get the Gemsword. It’s time to tackle Yangzhou and Zhang Liao.
Yangzhou
Zhang Liao
Cao Zhi
Cao Zhang
Rebels x2
Ouch. Cao Zhi’s 210 INT is not to be scoffed at. Neither is Cao Zhang’s 230 STR. Use the Gemsword on Zhang Liao. If it doesn’t work the first time, keep trying, while focusing your attacks on Cao Zhang. Once Zhang Liao says he’d give anything for it, let him join you. Now go into the cave to your left. Make sure you go down the stairs and get the club. Put it on Lu Bu, as he can make the most of the strength boost. Now head for Chang An’s gate.
Chang An Gate
Cao Ang
Kong Rong
Rebels x2
*sigh* So close to Cao Cao, and THIS is the best Cao Cao can do?!? I quit. *quits* Mop these losers up and move on. Now go into Chang An. Decisive battle time!
Chang An
Cao Cao
Cao Pi
Guo Jia
For some reason, I made Guo Jia look like a warrior. He’s a lethal tactician though. So is Cao Pi, with 210 INT. Don’t bother with offensive tactics. Focus on hitting Cao Cao first, and healing when necessary. If you won, you’re welcome. If not, then you’re weak and need levels. Go build them :)
Enter Chang An. Reap the peoples’ adjulation! Recruit Xue Lan in the Northeast corner, even though he’s useless. Invite Ding Yuan to the castle, and he’ll order you to rest. After that, head back to the castle and talk to Ding Yuan. A messanger from Sima Lang has arrived. He claims that Liu Biao has declared himself Emperor. Guess you have your next target.
