ParticipantKinda like I do every day with my Shiny copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga, Guardian Heroes, Shining Force III, Suikoden II, and Valkyrie Profile? Oh and Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne as well as Dragon Force.
Yeah I’ll probably keep it, it has the art book and i like stuff like that.

Participantlol@LYS
Unfortunately I haven’t played Drakengard 2 yet, might have to see if I can find it cheap.

ParticipantSo FES has the original Persona 3 on it? So in theory I could trade the original Persona 3 in towards it?
This would require less donations to the short guys manly goodness clinic.

ParticipantSorry just posted it in the FF board cause I saw the Xenogear’s and Super Mario RPG topics. Drakengard is a Squaresoft/enix game by the way.

The combat system is like a simpler FFXII, minus the gambits. Sort of a compromise between action and turn-based combat. If you expect it to react quickly to your commands, you’re going to get frustrated easily.
It’s just not complex enough to hold up well over a 60-hour game.
That said, the music is great which is usually enough for me to forgive a game just about anything.
LYS, you can usually get the first for about $15-20 and it’s fairly representative of the rest of the series.
And what pre FFVII rpg did have? To me the battle system is just fine. I didn’t care that it was kinda repetitive, to me thats actually what I liked.
Oh in other news anyone here watch G4tv? Ever notice how on Xplay they bash the "same Old style games" ie. Lost Odyssey, Devil May Cry 4, and Dynasty Warriors 6 yet in the same breath gush orgasmic delight over such notable rehash’s as CoD4, any Madden game, or the like. I also like how they went on and on about how great Viking looked…….to me looked alot like a Dynasty Warriors game which you just bashed for 5 minutes at the top of the show. /pseudo rant off………
Anyway not taking a shot at ya Nia just stating a lot of people have this complaint about .hack but can play Final Fantasy games which I’m sorry the only times they change their battle system they get critized for it. See FFIX(i love it others hate it), FFVIII(i hate it), FFXII(I can stand it but um….what is there to do once you get Gambits), etc. etc.

ParticipantCan only donate once every 3 days. But could be some could throw away cash:)

Participant5’10 is what they want, they’d accept some 5’9 but not all.
I’m 5’7 so I’m SOL.
Maybe I should start a short guy bank up………………………….
Happy endings in the back!

ParticipantI THINK it was on El Sallia. It also might have been on the Sega-16 forums. Can’t remember or find the link.
However the link went to the old guide you had started that only lasted two pages I think.
And yes I hope I get the money for FES to. Went to donate my manly goodness but sadly I’m not tall enough…..there’s a freaking height requirement for donating seedliness.
I tell ya its a sign of the forthcoming!! The end of all ENDS!!!! The Utter…..enough please press start to continue……..

What’s up, Kain?
Its’ the new X360 with the 175w psu. Pretty much, knock on wood, as solved or rather eliminated the Rrod issues.
You mean the elite?
And yeah, lordyuanshu hates the xbox 360 (he’s not too hot for FPS’s. Plus, the microsoft gaming companies don’t develop any new concepts for FPS’s anyway, and if not FPS then a rip off of another game).
No I believe its any you find now. As long as they were made after September of ’07. I know mine(got at Xmas and my cousins, got 3 weeks later) are both with the new Power supply and chip set up.
I agree the 360 has way too many FPS’s but so does the PS3. However I wanted the 360 cause at the time Mass Effect was exclusive to it and we all know if Knights of the Old Republic 3 comes out thats where its going. I mainly like the driving simulations and well the last Gran Turismo frankly sucked. Prologue however looks amazing. But I’m waiting on a PS3 till there’s a reason I need one.
I also have a Wii but it’s novelty is starting to wear off and I’m considering ebaying it but I know if I do that another Fire Emblem game will be announced so i’ll hold on to it.
Myself I enjoy older feeling style rpg’s and thats what I get from Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. Blue Dragon to me plays and feels like a Dragon Quest game, although it’s kinda sub-par compared to original Dragon Quest games. Lost Odyssey feels like Final Fantasy X’s love child and has some amazing story telling it. The dream sequences are freaking unreal and an early sequence, probably around the 5 hour or so mark is really sad. The game suffers from normal rpg stereotypes but frankly I don’t care, thats why I play rpg’s.
Uh-oh…..rant time…..
Gaming publications and media who pound on rpg’s for being stereotypical need to really and I mean REALLY step the hell back and look at the FPS market. Oh I see the difference, in FPS clone 1 you get the rail gun in level 3 and FPS clone 2 you get it in level 9. Oh and in FPS clone 3 its called a High Frequency rat a tat tat boom stick but in essence its the same damn thing.
/rant off
By the way hope everyone’s day is going swell?

ParticipantWell playing it on a PSP helps cause I can post on message boards, watch tv, nap, eat, bath, etc. etc.
Its not safe to use a PSP in a hottub with the adaptar plugged in remember.

Also I didn’t grow up with Brendan seeing how his 10 years my junior but I watched him play, met him a few times and have some autographs of his.
My teams the Cubs:) Hopefully we’ll win a series before video games aren’t played with a controller.
PSP games I have: Spectral souls, Generation of Chaos, Aedis Eclipse:GOC, Wild Arms XF, Final Fantasy Tactics(sucks, PSX version better), and Genisis Collection. Final Fantasy CC is rented from Gamefly. Also if anyone wants a referral to GF PM me and I’ll hook ya up:) Could help me get a DS Lite.
Anyway I stumbled on LYS back a few years ago when I think it was D on the El Sallia posted a link to your Final Fantasy Sega game. Whatever happened to playing through that? I noticed the last post was like in ’06. Language barrier that hard?
Speaking of hard anyone who reads this ever try Star field of relic dreams or STED for short?
Freaking hard ass game, Makes Phantasy Star II seem like a cakewalk.
Now to find a job in time to buy Persona 3 FES.

ParticipantThanks for the quick responses.
I’ll look in to starting the DoaE games once I finish Der Langrisser-Chaos path, Phantasy Star II, Final Fantasy Crisis Core, and probably I’ll finish up Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon since I’m so far in to them.
Now for my standard bounce around off topic ramblings, LYS I see your location is listed as Minn. do you by chance watch Twins baseball? If so Brendan Harrison grew up and played highschool ball were I live. Small world eh.
Anyway I like off topics:)

ParticipantFunny story.
Back in the summer of ’92 I think it was I went to my local Electronics Boutique and found Phantasy Star II for $14.99. I quickly snagged it and noticed it included a guide book. My friend was like score dude!!
Well we get home and open the game, only to find Phantasy Star III in the box. Everything else was Phantasy Star II, instructions, cover, GUIDEBOOK, etc. etc. Decided to keep it cause at the time Phantasy Star III was still selling for around $50 so I figured it was a good exchange.
Back to PSII discussion. PSII isn’t as much about level grinding as it is about mesata grinding. Equipment makes a major difference and can make a dungeon playable or utter crap. Quick tip if anyone playing it doesn’t know yet. Every town you go to return to Rolf’s house for a new companion. As soon as SHIR joins you put her in the party and level her up to lvl 10. Once she hits level 10 keep entering the central tower Room and exiting until she disapears. When she does this return to Rolf’s house and she returns, check her inventory for the Visiphone, this allows you to save the game ANYWHERE.
Also while in Paseo keep entering and exiting the weapon shop until she leaves. Return and pick her up yet again and check her inventory. She should have 1 of these weapons, Dagger(junk), Laser Knife(NICE!), Fire Staff(Get two of these if you have patience for Amy if not get at least 1, u find another), and I think she can steal a Laser Shot as well(save this for Kain).
Main thing to note is SHIR needs to be lvl 10 to be able to steal the Visiphone and you really really really really need this. Without the game is super aggravating. Also by the time Shir is in your Party Rolf should be using Swords, Rudo should use Laser Knifes till you can afford a Laser Cannon, Amy should use 2 Fire Staffs, if not give her Laser Knifes, and Nei should use Laser Bars till…..um well you’ll see.
Also for any other tips, and its a pretty decent faq, check out rpgclassics for the Phantasy Star II shrine.
Any other questions I’ll try to help when I’m able to remember or currently do it(I’m playing PSII on my PSP, bought the Sega Genesis collection because it had Phantasy Star II-IV on it and my original cartridge batteries are getting weak)
