MiDKnighTModeratorQuote:Anyway, he would still have the 200 AC or whatever going forward, so that would make Chang An and Nan Yang probably impossible
His tag was removed from those battles. However, for some odd reason even though Lu Bu had a different hex value if you recruited Liu Bei, Lu Bu would disappear from Chang An. So I had to write him out of the story at that point. But you haven't seen the last of Lu Bu of course…
Quote:For the enemy officers in Dong Zhuo's stage I'd make their AP 50 (or 70 in the case of the weak ones like Hu Zhen, Dong Min, etc) so that they are more formidable (30 is too poor).Ya I'll have to do something. Those guys (and a lot of Yuan Shu's generals) seem too wimpy.
Quote:Nice text changes in town too talking about Zhouyu and Yuan Shao's mom :).Yep, fits the story line of the battle of Yangcheng better.
Quote:Noticed that the messenger says 'servent' instead of servant.
OK fixed in my local copy.

MiDKnighTModeratorActually I made up "Barrier". James called it "Tunnel" in his game but it is "Cheng Nei". I'll put a list of tactics in the Yuan Shao thread.
MiDKnighTModeratorQuote:Excited to get Guo Tu, one of my favorite Yuan Shao officers (though I tend to like Yuan Shao's crew like Tian Feng, Zhang He, etc).Tian Feng and Zhang He have major roles in this game. Guo Tu will always be useful for his stats and level ups but there are others coming along who will kinda make him obsolete (eventually). You can definitely use him for the next 2-3 stages though.
Quote:With the level ups I expect to use him for a while (though I was kind of hoping his strength was higher but he's clearly more of a tactician type according to RotK games. I think DoaE II made him a little too kick ass).I based a lot of my stats on RotK stats and I read that Guo Tu was more of an advisor type. I did give him some strength but ya, he has more of a strategist role (or strategist in battle). If you like Scorch you can now have Guo Tu and Chen Lin lighting people up.
MiDKnighTModeratorQuote:Almost done with Chapter 3, Sun Jian was a decent challenge, though I lost nobody on my team. I'm at level 12 or 13, I believe, and with Zhou Yu's meat shield we're sort of boosted high. Scorch FTW.Ya I got the same feedback from my bro who is also playing it. I'm raising Sun Jian's AP by 10 and will lower ZYR's soldier count one notch I think.
MiDKnighTModeratorThe Cui's are sorry on purpose. Cui Juye is a joke…not worth keeping once you meet Chen Lin.
Quote:Tao Shang? Is he real? (sorry for my ignorance if so).I might be wrong but I think all of the officers in this game are historical minus 3 in Jing Zhou added for fun.
Tao Sheng: http://kongming.net/encyclopedia/Tao-Sheng
MiDKnighTModeratorQuote:I expected all of Yuan Shao's family to be able to level up. Seems like it's not the case for Yuan Tan. Maybe you can boost his strength a bit and give him minor level-ups?Yuan Tan and Yuan Xi aren't statistically good enough to keep around so they get soldier boosts to make them temporarily worth keeping around. (think Liu Feng)
Yuan Shang will be worth keeping and does have level ups. Yuan Shang will make up for Yuan Tan and Yuan Xi's shortcomings. He gets lots of love in this one.
MiDKnighTModeratorQuote:Rom itself looks nice. Unique portraits from DoaE II are kick ass. I assume you took out the old unique portraits (DoaE I)?Not all of them. I left some of my favs in like Zhang Liao and Zhou Yu.
Quote:why not just call him Zhou Renming?
Sure, can do that.
MiDKnighTModeratorLink – besides the Liu Bei thing you're about to hit the next major deviation from the original game in the Yuan Shu area.
cabalpapa – Ya if you're able to heal enough you can do it. He swings a big stick but doesn't do much else. The fact that two strategists show up with him complicates matters a little.
Definitely didn't design any very hard battles at this stage of the game. Chang An can be challenging depending on what Jia Xu does.
MiDKnighTModeratorQuote:Uh… ZhouYu Renmng or something? I thought he was supposed to be Zhou Yu, styled RenmingYes…I named him that so he wouldn't be confused with the other "Zhou Yu". I also gave him a lot of soldiers because historically he leads the battle vs Yuan Shu –> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Yangcheng
Quote:my party consists of:ZhouYu Renmng
Liu Bei*
Yan Liang
Guo Tu
Wen Chou
That's the same party I had at that stage.
MiDKnighTModeratorMiDKnighTModeratorOK good idea. I just raised Zhang Bao and Zhang Jao's INT by 20 each. That should make it a tad harder but not overwhelming for newbies.
Yes I haven't tried fighting Lu Bu without Scorch yet. I made that battle a lot harder than the Hua Xiong one on purpose :D
MiDKnighTModeratorThe beginning isn't much harder than the original. The first hard battle is Lu Bu (if you don't have Scorch yet) or Chang An. There are some fairly challanging battles ahead but it definitely isn't as hard as the Cao Cao mod.
Do you think I should make any of the earlier battles harder?
MiDKnighTModeratorJu Shou takes a Jiang Wei-ish role in this one:
He can be pretty nasty:
A possible final party:
