DOAE3: The reason for the size difference is the same as the SNES FF titles: the characters are sprites, they have a lot of poses, and there are up to four at a time, so they need to be small so they can do all their different actions without looking strange. The enemies are just drawings who flash when they attack, so they get puffed up bigger since they are static.
Thanks for the Scarves clarification, I figured the main guy was Zhang Jue but was not aware the others were anything other than buffed-up bandits. There is a similar fight in the middle of that forest, so I assume the bandits there are also Scarves leaders like Deng Mao.
About the town names, if you just play through the opening with the Yellow Turbans, once you are in Cao Cao’s city and can access the world map, pressing start brings up a map with all the locations in the game. If I could get a translation list for those, it would be much appreciated, so look into that if you get any free time.
DOAE2: Pointing out that Xiangyang post Chi Bi is optional helps the low-level game plan, since if you get no experiance from Nanjun then that’s that lower of a level for the end. Is Jingzhou needed, since the Talley Order is there?
Yeah it’s available here, I’ve seen a few coupies in the EB stores near where I live.
Sadly, EB is cutting back on the classics, they’ve been dropping anything non-next-gen except PSX stuff (at least where I live).
I think you need 104 stars before the Ceremonial Site war battle, that should unlock it (Luc, Sarah, Yuber, and Albert are the last four).
Frankly, I don’t get the name change. I know that Nintendo tends to change the system names before launch (Ultra 64 to Nintendo 64, Dolphin to Gamecube) but Revolution just seems a lot better than Wii.

Is it possible that the Yang Zhou Lu Bu is a different general than the normal Lu Bu, and that’s thy he only accepts the Gemsword there?
If you ever happen to play DOAE3 Genesis, if you could translate the town names that would help (I’m sure all the towns have the obligitory Greeter Guy somewhere).
