It’s always nice to talk with other people who like the same games, plus the DOAE games are not very popular. Of course, we already have lots of info here on DOAE and DOAE2, and I’ve figured out at least some of DOAE3 Genesis.
What we’re really lacking info on is DOAE3 SNES. Any help you could provide there would be greatly appreciated.
Do all these field battles take place on the world map? Since the one in the demo was pretty much "move forward, attack, win".
Who are the generals in that battle, one of them must drop the item. How did you not pick one up while leveling to 99?
My game is still at Xiahou Yuan at Hanzhong, at level 30. I was working on the DOAE3 walkthrough (at least the basic part of it) for a while. I need to come back and finish this sometime.
So you were trying a low level game too? How hard was Luo castle?
I’ve never understood why people who are already drowning in cash are always trying to get MORE MORE MORE! What the heck are they spending it on?
Zhang Lu is a decent general when you get him, but I think it’s the novelty of having him in your army that’s fun, even more so if you use him at Hanzhong.
Have any of these Chinese players tried getting the Wu generals in your permanent party? They form parties for you at Chi Bi, and since Zhou Yu and Taishi Ci have avatars I could forsee them working.
It could be a plot by Liu Zheng/Zhang to test your loyalty, or it might just be that Yang Huai doesn’t like you. I’d go with the latter.
So Yiling is pretty much a supply base for Cao Ren? Well, that clears that one up. See if Ba castle is mandatory too (although it might be hard since I think they might have the only save point in lower Shu).
I know that some people have problems getting him, so it may be particular to certain ROMs.
What’s rather strange about that whole glitch is that Zhang Lu, who is never in your party, is the character you get, as opposed to someone like Yan Liang or Lu Su. I would think those guys would be easier to program in.
