You guys didn’t play it honest like I am :P
I expect to be at around level 48-53 before I battle Sima Yi. Plus, I probably won’t try for Cao Cao. I’m gonna limit myself to non-Cao Cao good generals. Xiahou Yuan, Zhang Ren, and maybe Zhang Liao.

The 64 items trick CAN be used to get Cao Cao. It CANNOT be used to get Sima Yi.

If I knew how to program it, I’d LOVE to do a DoaE Yuan Shu mod :P

I’ve reached many an impasse in the mods, so I wanted to go back to this one. BTW, Liu Zhang was only in that party because I couldn’t think of any other notable generals ;)
Also, until you reach the first billeting place, you can play the game normally, but make sure you save the Zheng Letter, because you’re going to be using it :P

I used San Kai and was leveled about 5-10 levels higher. Great stuff so far though :)

They see me throwin' fireballs out of my sword, they runnin'.Yes…I believe the item is the Sword of Heaven, which I’ve promptly put on Pang Tong (acquired w/the Zheng Letter). I’ve moved on past that, but would re-enter it if I needed to. I’m now on the thunder, and I don’t think it’s the same command as in the English version. Here’s the screenie, if anyone can translate it, be my guest :P

They see me throwin' fireballs out of my sword, they runnin'.Okay, I have reached an impasse. There’s a cave near the old citadel where you’d fight Xun Yu in the regular version. It leads through some caves like, the passage to Jing, the Youyuu Bow cave, and the Emperor’s Tomb. Besides the fact that there are towns after each (until the Emperor’s Tomb), is there anything else I should know before going into the Emperor’s Tomb for the umpteenth time looking for something to continue the story?

Just breezed through Zhang Fei. Having Liu Bei and Yu Ji in the same party is a load of laughs :D
Hmm…the Zhang Lu bug now brings Zhang Fei, but unfortunately he’s WAY behind my party at this point. Just 1,350 soldiers…that’ll do me no good :(
The Xiahou Dun replacement is mediocre…

I think it’s Liu Bei, but not 100% sure.
If you were supposed to fight Liu Bei at Ling Ling, now you fight Ma Liang, and it’s a cakewalk seeing as though he’s alone ;)
Whoops…now I got Pang Tong at Ling Ling. Wu and Shu shall have their alliance yet~! :P

I’ll start that tonight and we’ll see what happens.
A note: When you fight Zhang Liao at Xin Ye, he IS beatable. Have Zhou Yu and any other smart officers use tactics. If you’re lucky, one or two will hit, basically taking Zhang Liao’s soldier count down to half. Go all out, and you SHOULD win. This allows you to get Lu Meng.

EDIT: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…you can’t get the Wind Scroll. If you get Yu Ji, you’re stuck! :(
