Lord Yuan Shu
KeymasterRight on, mine are pretty wonky too but less so with my son running my schedule….

ParticipantAs for Liu Shan… the only reason why I gave him a decent intelligence was so he would be able to use Negate—so he can do something annoying. I could, of course, strip him of even that, and give him some basic annoying tactics, just to make him a complete joke. :)

ParticipantWu is officially complete!
I just finished the last of Liu Bei’s scripts for the region then marched through the full territory double-checking recruitable officers and scripts through each city. All good! Next step is to determine the Shu officers who will be stationed at each castle, create them, and distribute them through the territory!

MTP cap in the final version will be 150, not 155. Both Tui Lu/Escape and Gui Huan/Return won’t be learnable by your officers to make sure Yi Xin remains available through the end of the game.

ParticipantShu Roster Ideas
I’m interested in hearing any ideas for the Shu lineup. Do you have any good later-generation Shu officers who deserve to be dangerous in the final areas of the game? Do you have ideas for any particular battles? I’m sorting out the lineup for Shu right now and I’ve got some room to play with (including extra officers). Anything I don’t use in Shu I can use to create some extra surprises in other areas of the game.
Your ideas are very much appreciated!

KeymasterLu Xun looks like a real baller! The DoaE 3 avatars are good additions no doubt.
As for later Shu generals, I don’t know. I’m sure you’ll be fine, your DoaE 2.0 proves you know RTK well enough to fill any given area in DoaE :) Put Huo Hu and maybe the Song’s in a battle hehe I suppose you already have Liu Shan so that’s one gimme-type officer but Huo Hu is always a good addition even if only us get the joke.
Thank god we don’t learn those wasteful Gui Huan Tui Lu spells. They’re just a hindrance when playing these crazy ass mods where you need every advantage you can get. I always felt Yi Xin Ji Rou and Li Jian were some of the sickest tactics in the entire game and I hate losing all of them…

ParticipantYeah, Lu Xun looks like a badass–and he’s one of the best generals in the game, so he backs it up. :)
It took me a while to really figure out how to best do away with Tui Lu and Gui Huan, but I’ve got it (and the associated bugs) pretty much sorted out now. Having Yi Xin at the end of the game is really really cool.
The Shu roster is coming together nicely. I printed out four pages of notes and some papers for me to sort everything out and I’ve been plugging away at it here and there for the past three days trying to sort out the best possible lineup. It is nearly complete now, and it looks like a really really cool ride. There might be a battle where you get to fight all five tigers!

ParticipantWhew! Every Shu officer has been carefully crafted and placed. I’ve also gone through and added a personal touch to many portraits in the game to make it nice and unique. I even though about editing the generic officer portraits to allow for hatless advisors. I might still do that before the final release. Next, I begin going through Liu Shan’s lands to write the scripts.

Lu Bu is a hardcore jerk.
I’ve actually got four or five special officer slots which normally weren’t available to the game which I can work with now. It is going to be interesting to see what I can do. I think I’m going to take advantage of them to do some cool stuff in Jingzhou on my next pass through the game. That area needs some love and attention—and some regular officers in random encounters.

KeymasterSounds good :) Love how it looks…
How do you use the generic avatars with the non-generic backgrounds? That always went haywire for me.
Nice to see Cao Pi with the Sun Quan type sprite – and Lu Xun gets to be red Lu Bu.

ModeratorWhat makes you think they’re generic here? XD
February 14, 2009 at 10:32 pm #29718Lord Yuan Shu
KeymasterCause I know those are generic DoaE 2 avatars he is using with non-generic DoaE 1 backgrounds. Looks like Xiahou Yuan’s background in the Pang De avatar and Zhang Jao’s background for Zhang He? Something like that.
Anyway, James answered my question on his forum huohu
