ParticipantI’ve sent you a e-mail with standard DoaE 2 Cao Cao in your mod I’ve put him over Zhang Jiao, Also if I had a pic of Romance of the Three Kingdoms 3 Cao Cao I think I can but him in your game. :-)

KeymasterWait, you had to take out Zhang Jao’s portrait to put in Cao Cao’s?
If that’s the case (that you have to delete someone’s portrait to add another), you should just add Cao Cao’s in the place of Pang Tong since I won’t be using him.
Anyway, I have the RTK III Cao Cao avatar. Problem is, it is like 83 x 100. So the size would look weird right?

ParticipantOk I’ll see what I can do at the very least I can just put cao cao over pang tong.

KeymasterYea, Cao Cao DoaE II over Pang Tong would be much appreciated :)
Well you should let me know if you can get that Cao Cao RTK III avatar working though.
It got me thinking, if you can do that we should put the RTK III Yuan Shu avatar on Yuan Shu

If the RTK III portraits don’t work, maybe put DoaE 2 portrait in for Yuan Shu

KeymasterHmm. I got your email with yuanshumod.zip, but it seems to be the same file I sent you! As i open it in DoaEditor I see the same portrait in the preview part for Yuan Shu and Cao Cao that I had originally. Must have sent me the wrong file (or do these DoaE 2 portraits not show on DoaEditor?)

KeymasterAh yes, you were right. I haven’t seen Cao Cao’s but I see Yuan Shu’s DoaE 2 avatar.
Problem is, it’s facing the wrong way :) Can you flip it to face at the enemy (to the right).

KeymasterNope that should do it for now :) No worries, the rom can wait. I’m just interested to see if we can get those RTK III portraits to work huohu
I’ll be looking forward to your findings later on ! Hopefully this weekend I get some more time to finish up the final part of the game and all the odds and ends.

ParticipantSomeone would have to remake the RTK III portrait pixel-by-pixel for that to work. Not impossible, but a little time consuming. :)
If you want I can put the RTK 1 portrait in there for you. Just let me know if you’d like that, or if the version which has already been prepared for you is fine.

ParticipantOh man, DOAE2 portraits in DOAE? I am making a DOAE hack that tries to duplicate DOAE2 in officer stats, officer portraits, officer sprites, and in plot to an extent (the second DOAE is my preferred DOAE game, so I HAD to make this :geek:). It wouldn’t be possible for me to work in some of that portrait action, would it? Granted, I would only really stress over having it for Cao Cao. Otherwise I might just use his Guan Xing default portrait. Oh, and Lord, I’m loving your Yuan Shu mod. I think you’ve actually changed a good deal of content from your old release of the mod. I just beat Yuan Shu’s old area, the new Shu, where I chose to let Liu Bei live hehe. I must say, I have faced a nice amount of tough battles. Never too tough, though. But certainly a nice challenge. The only thing I had to be careful for was facing these tougher enemies in random battles! Hopefully I will be able to see whatever changes you end up making from hereon without having to start a new file. Keep up the good work, fella.
What!? Zhuge Liang controls even the heavens?

KeymasterAh, looks like the RTK III portraits are not meant to be. That would have been too good to be true. So James, you had to go through pixel by pixel to put in the DoaE 3 portraits? Or were they easier to convert?
Thanks Cao Jay. I’ll run through to make sure Cao Cao’s portrait is correct and then put it up, with credit to you for changing Yuan Shu and Cao Cao. I won’t bug you for any more portrait work :)
Craig – you ain’t seen nothing yet. The first three areas aren’t changed too much from the original lys mod release, but the rest of the game got a complete overhaul. The next two areas in particular are quite fun, Ji Zhou and Jing Zhou. You’ll see :) Glad to see you got a chance to play – were you up all night playing DoaE??

ParticipantYeah, you have to change the DoaE III portraits pixel-by-pixel to put them in Destiny of an Emperor. The problem with the DoaE III portraits is that they use many colors, while DoaE only supports four colors. It isn’t anywhere near as bad as converting an RTK VI portrait would be, though, because the DoaE III portraits still use similar colors (just with gradients and variety on clothing) and still follow the DoaE style.
