ModeratorThe missing stat is 信頼.
This translates to "Reliance, trust, or confidence". The first kanji means faith, trust, or loyalty, while the second means trust or request. I’d almost be inclined to call it "Reliability", but if its game function looks more like loyalty, that’d be the better choice naturally.

ParticipantAwesome! That helps. :)
Loyalty seems appropriate too. Can anyone think of how that game mechanic might apply to the game itself? It doesn?t seem there are any instances of troops deserting. Could some officers maintain morale better than others? Perhaps some rulers with a higher ?loyalty? value do a better job of retaining or gaining subordinates?
Edit: I miss-read your reply. Perhaps ?reliability? really is the appropriate value. It might be an indication of personality. A person with a high level of reliability is probably less likely to betray? That would certainly be appropriate for Liu Bei?s high level. How does it look for the likes of Dong Zhuo or Lu Bu? Is it high for people like Zhang Liao and Guan Yu?

KeymasterAwesome, I’m glad this game is getting some burn. It had potential, definitely unique for a Destiny of an Emperor.
As for submitting it, I think you just log in and submit. I think I put everyone at either an Editor or a Publisher, so you can make the article and publish it likely.

ModeratorActually, as I thought about it, I was wondering the same thing. Does it have a value for a ruler? It would be a bit strange for a ruler to have low loyalty to their own cause.
Oh yeah, and I’m on SoSZ too, but I happened to see the post here first :P

We?ll see what happens. Since I announced things like the Destiny of an Emperor 3 English Playguide, and the Destiny of an Emperor 2 mods, I have actually seen more people than I expected picking them up and playing through. And I’ve received some correspondence from them. It is refreshing to see people on Kongming?s Archives interested in the old-school stuff I enjoy doing. And it is good, because heaven knows I lack the heart to focus on the bland Dynasty Warriors series any longer. I?ll leave that Chin and his excellent Koei Warriors website.
What does it take to host the Wei and Wu mods at KMA as well? I haven?t seen Samuel around for a little while, but making them readily accessible like the other FAQs would help to inspire many people in enjoying them more.

As I think of it more, I am basically all but certain of the answer. It is most likely a loyalty measurement. Why would they introduce a visible statistic for a ruler?s ability to inspire followers? That would be all but completely irrelevant for nearly all characters in the game. When something like that is implemented it tends to be based on Charisma, or a hidden stat.
I think this is a loyalty and reliability indication.
Probably best summarized as ?Loyalty? or ?Dependability?.

Haha. You know what, that?s right. I do remember now that you mention it. I enjoy chatting about Destiny of an Emperor and other old games here because even though there aren?t so many people, they are enthusiastic about these old titles, and especially about translation or non-English titles. I suppose we?d have that at SoSZ if it was a little focused on this topic. Maybe when the next version of phpBB comes out. :)

ParticipantOkay, so the English Playguide is basically complete.
Destiny of an Emperor III (SNES) English Playguide
Below is one graphic from the guide?something I first did for Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI?a game menu breakdown. The only entry I know nothing about is the plots entry, and sometimes translation isn?t enough to define it. Does anyone know the functions of each plot?

Lord Yuan Shu, if you wish to use any of this guide (or all of it) on your site, including the graphics, please feel free. I want to complete a few other sections with this precious freetime so I don?t have much to play with an editor (though it does look fairly simple), but I at least want you to know I would be thrilled for you to share this with your viewers.
Because its all about the love.

ModeratorHere are some translations, they help on a couple of them at least.
二虎競食 – This is the Rival Tigers trick – "Two Tigers Compete for Food."
敵臣調略 – This one I’m afraid doesn’t reveal much. "Enemy Officer Scheme" is just about how I’d translate it. Testing in game is probably better for this one.
君臣離間 – This one appears to be "Alienate". This translates to "Liege and Vassal Alienation".
And the last one is Cancel.

Anyone up for testing this? I?m going to guess something like Officer Defection?

You mean the guides he wrote? I’m sure he’d have no problem with you hosting them, but you should probably wait and see what he says. Until then you can just link to the guides posted on the main page.
Anyway, your playguide looks good. You may want to mention the kingdom limits, i.e. there can only be so many kingdoms (I think 7) at one time, and if you destroy one, if another one is set to show up, they’ll pop up (like Perhong mentioned a couple pages back, he killed Yuan Shu which caused Ma Teng to appear).

Yeah, I reviewed those things as I went through the posts here, and other information, and decided to keep things fairly simple as the document is intended only to serve as an English Playguide. I could also mention things like the Plague and whatnot (well, that might be good to mention if I can get a screenshot of it happening), but much of that detail would be better left to strategy guides, don?t you think?
Or maybe we could compile a list of strange occurrences?

KeymasterGood stuff. Yeah, DoaE 3 SNES is on my long list of things to do for the site, but I’m thinking after FF12 gets done, I’ll be able to do some work on that list. If anyone else wants to gather the DoaE 3 SNES data and enter it they can, otherwise I’ll get to it in the coming months likely.

ParticipantOh wow, my ideas about that were a bit off.
Could you put the thanking thing as CommieCatGirl instead of Zzouzeizeski, this is just a screwing around name due to the gender display being removed.
You have to remember, though; the very thing that makes you a nerd is that your enthusiasms are totally unrelatable and non-marketable to most of the world. For example, anime and celibacy. - Seanbaby

ParticipantI found something out just now.
In the battle screen, you’ll notice little percentages when you select your people, I think they’re like bonuses for defense according to terrain, because they’ll change like this
Water: 0%
Grassland, ruined walls: 10%
Forrests: 20%
Walls: 100%
Though, I just think that because Civilization uses a similiar system and it makes sense.
