Cecil with Attract and Counter sounds pretty vicious. I can’t wait…sorting all of those ability’s sounds like FFV in a way which is what I loved about that game…I always felt FF4 didn’t really have enough character customization but this provides that. Plus, it’s pretty neat how they all say something about where you are when you open the menu up.
What is Tellah’s ability :)? Sage Tellah looks like a clown in this one.
Globe 99, that’s what it is.

Tellah actually looked pretty cool. :)
He had a great pair of glasses!
I like how they’ve added so much customization but, at heart, each character is still very different and unique. It really expands on cool features of later Final Fantasies without losing some of what made FFIV so great.

This is what Square Enix needs to aim for with these remakes. I can tell I’m going to love this game.

Oh yeah… you bet I was on wait…
Even after I became pretty good at reading most of the spells, there were still cases where I would have quickly died. The red dragon, for example… I can’t readily recognize the Elixir in my inventory and the three seconds of hunting would have meant my death.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingJuly 25, 2008 at 3:18 pm #34339Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterScarmiglone was damn hard. Took about 25 turns of counter attacks from Cecil to defeat him. Attacking him or casting magic just led to my death, with his counter abilities.
Now I’m in the sewer dicking around because I hear Cagnazzo is pretty tricky inside Baron. We’ll see soon! PS Yang kicks ass in this game, love him. I so wish you could use him at the end…I know Edge is probably good in this game too…but I always favor Yang.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingJuly 25, 2008 at 6:42 pm #34340Xian Zhu XuandeParticipantCagnazzo is manageable… just make sure, no matter what, that you keep someone on standby ready to cast Thunder on him as soon as he prepares his tidal wave attack. That can get pretty ugly. Use slow on him too.
Baigan is pretty nasty too!
July 27, 2008 at 10:36 pm #34341thechieftainParticipantBaigan gave me more trouble than cagnazzo, just got to those sisters with the delta attack and whuooed their asses, wonder how the tornado chick vavales is?
July 28, 2008 at 12:53 am #34342Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterShe almost had me on a few occasions, though I kinda forget how the battle went. As long as you can have Kain survive with his jumps you can stop her spin of course.
Asura might have been the easiest boss yet. Leviathan got me on the first try though, his Deluge wave killed all but Kain and Cecil. A few more levels and Rosa survived the attack which made the second try much easier, even with just those three. Rosa is so awesome when Hasted, I just had to keep the other two healed while Kain jumped a bunch of times with the Poison Axe.

Hey whats ur score on that goblin game with fat chocobo
July 31, 2008 at 4:13 am #34344NiahakModeratorCagnazzo wasn’t too bad. Baigan was a bit tougher.
While Cagnazzo was hiding in his shell, I just kept using Focus with Yang. Just as he hopped out, I attacked for 2000 damage :)
Oh, LYS – you mentioned you hadn’t gotten the twins’ augments yet. Go talk to the elder in Mysidia in the room behind the crystal room – he’ll give you them.
I may end up using twincasts as fodder to get other augments. I made the mistake of giving Auto-pot to Tellah, so I couldn’t get any special ones from Edward or the twins. Not that I could’ve "maxed" them in any case – Counter is too good to give up, and even it would’ve only given me the two.
And Chieftain – my max is 5750, I think. My strategy is to keep going as long as I can, and just as I’m about to be overwhelmed use both the "swords" I got (waiting for the screen to fill a bit for the 2nd). Then retreat.
