Yea I figured the Twin’s augments were in Mysidia. Better go get them now.
I can’t believe you guys play that pouchika game or whatever it’s called in the english version :)
My favorite part of this game might be when Cid is ‘repairing’ the airship and he goes around to various parts of the ship (including the steering wheel) and smashes it with a hammer continuously.

July 31, 2008 at 8:41 pm #34347thechieftainParticipantSo, noone plays the mini games…but me? they r fun
July 31, 2008 at 11:17 pm #34348Xian Zhu XuandeParticipantYeah… it might just be you! Hehe…
July 31, 2008 at 11:30 pm #34349NiahakModeratorI play Rydia’s and Cecil’s. Those ones are fun so far; looking forward to the rest.
Rosa’s game is just annoying, though.
August 12, 2008 at 11:35 pm #34350thechieftainParticipantGame over, I beat it and i have to say i still like the original, the graphics were more enjoyable to me, it was the same game. but 2d is better suited for this game, plus this game was stupid easy to me, it was probly cause i knew every boss and their weakness going in.
August 12, 2008 at 11:51 pm #34351Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterReally? A lot of the weaknesses and strategies changed I thought…but this game got WAY easy as more augments became available. Notably the Counter / Draw Attacks abilities.
Anyway, I thought this was the shit the first half of the game or so. Then that love died a bit and I still haven’t really had the time to finish the Lunar Subterranean yet. I will and all, but it kinda lost me at the end.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingAugust 13, 2008 at 1:00 am #34352NiahakModeratorMy problem with this game is that it gets so unbearably repetitive. I could hardly stand going through the Feymarch or the Sylphs’ cave, because random battles would do hardly anything to my party, they were frequent and slow.
I’m still at the Sealed Cave and making progress… but not as fast as I was before.
August 13, 2008 at 11:25 pm #34353thechieftainParticipantYeah, i almost had to force myself to finish it.
August 19, 2008 at 7:44 pm #34354Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterLunar Subterreanean B5…I’m fighting two Ice Dragons or whatever they are called, for a Crystal Shield. It’s just ridiculous two of those enemies that spam blaze-all type abilities like Icestorm. Even with Haste up I feel like I can’t keep up healing.

My DS is missing so I’m not sure if the difficulty has changed later in the English version, but yeah, dragons and other enemies with multi-target magic attacks (Warlocks, Red Giants, Red Dragons) can really mess up your party. Even at level 99 the red dragons in the crystal palace can cause some serious trouble if they woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
There does seem to be some great disparity between monsters. In the Giant of Babil, for example, the Centaurs are hardly worth a concern, but those little laser bots are downright scary.
August 19, 2008 at 10:08 pm #34356Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterYea they make these blaze type characters too hard. The two Blue Dragons mauled me and then I just got the Crystal Gloves and I had to fight a Red Dragon…just one…and it fuckin mauled me with Thermal Rays for 3000 on everyone. Guess I better skip these chests for now

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingAugust 20, 2008 at 3:14 pm #34357Xian Zhu XuandeParticipantThe trick with red dragons is to land slow on them as soon as possible. I’m wondering if they were also vulnerable to stop or hold, but I can’t quite remember right now. If Rosa doesn’t have dual-cast, though, her every turn is going to be wrapped up keeping the party alive. Sometimes the red dragons just go on a rampage and start using that attack over and over again, and there’s nothing you can do but run like a beaten down broken whore.
August 20, 2008 at 3:17 pm #34358Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterYa see Slow doesn’t really slow him too much, I used it and he still got off another Thermal Rays before Rosa could get Cure 3 off.
I’ll find a way to defeat them but I’m not going to kill myself over a Crystal Shield so I’ll come back to them later. The other enemies like the White Dragon were really easy.
Thankfully I made it to the save point so that should help immensely

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingAugust 21, 2008 at 10:03 pm #34359Perhong_AngtongParticipantAnother trick to use is this: (This only works if you got double cast and omnicast on Rosa and Draw attacks on Cecil.)
When the fight starts, have Rosa cast Berserk on all Blaze-type enemies (Any dragons, they all use a blaze type except for, like, gold, silver, and thunder dragon.) and since you’re using Doublecast, use also Blink on your party. Bash away, except when your blinks are up, redo them. The same strategie can be used for Behemoths, but use Rydia’s Titan OR Bahamut, or else either he’ll absorb it, Counter it with that damn Maelstorm attack, or worse: BOTH!
Hope that helps.
EDIT: Except for the Red Dragon and Behemoth, you can also use Stop.
