Chapter 1 is updated.
I managed to get Zhang Liao at level 9 (my highest leveled unit is Cao Cao at level 11). What exactly are the benefits of getting Zhang Liao before level 15?
They say that getting him at a lower level allows him more room to grow or something. This also requires a few beans of course. I’m not sure to be honest, I never actually bothered. I just posted that for people who wants to to try it out. I mean, I give beans to Zhang Liao without paying attention to his levels and he turned out great, not that he was bad in the first place.

ParticipantBTW, Taishi Chi, I forgot to mention this, playing through the game gaining as little experience as possible makes no difference difficulty wise. Each chapter’s enemy levels are based on the average level of your army. So if you manage to get to the final chapter at level 1 (I’m exaggerating of course), then all the enemies will be at around level 1, with the special generals at level 2 or 3.

ParticipantThe point was that, if everyone is at level 1, the enemy leaders would only be level 6 or so. At such a low level, the enemy mages won’t know the better magic like the mega-heal spell.
Lady Wu said she managed to get to Cheng Du while having her level low enough for Zhuge Liang to not know the mega-heal. I wanted to see if I could pull off something similar.

ParticipantNot bad, not bad at all. I wonder why the search was for a Chinese download, though. Is there a Japanese version?

ParticipantThe game’s made by Koei, of course there’s a Japanese version. They always come out with a Japanese version first. Koei is a Japanese company afterall.

ParticipantHmm, makes sense then.
Terranigma, congrats on reaching the illustrious rank of "Dan Fu’s Babe". You should be proud.
Also, why are you set to Hidden? You’re the only one who’s hidden on this board so I already know it’s you.

ParticipantLOL, I have no clue. I just randomly clicked on some option when I signed up. I wasn’t really paying attention to it. Well, since no one sets it on hidden, it makes no difference then. You know it’s me when someone is hidden. So much for being hidden huh?

ParticipantSaw this in the Diao Chan info:
She can remove status affects, when when she’s at her highest class, she can automatically recover and remove status affects on all units surrounding her at the beginning of each turn.
Do you mean here that she has to be in her highest class to do this? Because I’ve seen her do this once before in her starting class (she removed poison from Dian Wei at Guan Du).

ParticipantReally? I don’t use Diao Chan that often. I could be dead wrong, but the funny thing is I might have played through the entire game and not once had Diao Chan (early) near someone affected by a status problem.

ParticipantRandom questions:
1. Say Guo Jia learns a new spell at level 17. Does he have to be in his second class to learn it (ie, he won’t learn it if he gets to level 17 in his starter class)?
2. Xiahou Dun’s first class doesn’t have the eyepatch, but the second one does. Is it possible to get him to his second class before Battle 14 (when he gets his eye shot out)?

Yeah, some of them are class based, so he won’t learn then till he class changes.

Does it? I could have sworn he had an eye patch in his first class change. I seriously doubt you can reach level 30 by chapter 14.

ParticipantYou only need level 15 for the second class.
I think I found Legend of Kongming on sanguogame.com, but it has to be in 256 colors and I’m on XP. I even tried running it in Windows 95/98 compatability mode with 256 colors on, but it won’t run. You know how to get this to work?
