ModeratorSuggestion for ya LYS. Find a good rom name and keep it the same on the actual file upon updates.
I have a copy of dtele and dtele2. It is safe to overwrite the dtele file with the latter if they have the same name aka dtele )old) with dtele (new), all you'd need to do is specify on a notes page/download page if it has updates.
This way, save files and savestates will still retain their correct affiliations and people won't to to restart their entire game upon an update or have to fiddle with file names upon every update.

KeymasterAh thanks, that was an oversight on my part. Shouldn't be named dtele in the actual releases lol. Oh well…next update (which will probably be later today) will fix this. I'll just have it be tyrantdz or something to that effect.

ParticipantDonger-Dog.
I patched into the new update on the first page, and then played to find that I can recruit the Qiang Tribe after defeating them at the gate… Is that supposed to happen? Not that they would be useful in my party. The Hu Tribe is unrecruitable, so I assume that that wasn't intended to occur.
April 28, 2012 at 6:35 pm #42397Lord Yuan Shu
KeymasterYep, that's another optional thing I made. It's only the Qiang Tribe that can be recruited right away.
Qiang Tribe is actually a pretty good recruit. 173 strength and 280+ soldiers, not bad for that point. Plus it makes the next battle easier, and they are needed in the Qing Zhou cave too. So Qiang Tribe is worth your time to recruit if you come across them.

ParticipantOshit, you're right. Running through multiple games at one time makes me lose track of how crappy some officers are. Bao Hong and Guo Dian really should be switched out soon, haha.

KeymasterYep. Those dudes are weak. Things turn around once you get to Qing Zhou, with Xu Rong and Hu Zhen.

ParticipantAlso, I still am able to encounter Yuan Shang in that little square east of the home village.

KeymasterWhat? For real? Damn … must have moved the wrong battle. Just try to ignore it best you can, it'll be fixed next update.

ParticipantOn a side note, more of an interesting discovery: Same thing as the Dian Wei effect, where the same officer appears in multiple event battles but is recruitable in between them. The Qiang Tribe, who is supposed to appear alongside the Hu at the Han Sui battle, is missing once you recruit them after the first tribal battle.

Looks like there's a mistake in the tiling of the water! Haha, look two spaces above Li Su and there's a water square outlined by sand just floating in the ocean. :P This is directly east of the Han Sui battle, northeast of Guangzhong.

ModeratorYeah, they pointed that out before; Dian Wei from vanilla DoaE's final chapter appears twice, yet he can be recruited before his second appearance.

ParticipantJust some grammar nazi stuff…

There's no apostrophe in "Eunuchs." lolololol The dying emperor says "Eunuch's" also.
Also, no pic for this, since we all know about the Qing Zhou bridge. How about having Qiang Tribe "I'm a member of the Qiang Tribe" or something like that, instead of "I'm Qiang Tribe?"

Should be either "The Emperor's" or "Emperor Ling's"

And what? Li Ru is gonna lead the "YUAN army" to victory? Thought we were playing Dong Zhuo…
By the way, the story kind of throws out random names a lot and I lost track of who I'm supposed to be fighting, and where… Wang Kuang of Henei wanted to fight me or something, while the Emperor tells me to get rid of Zhang Rang in Luoyang… And the only path I can take from Qing Zhou leads me to this fortress with 1k+ officers with Yan Re, which I assume isn't exactly where I'm supposed to be headed yet.
Gimme a hint man, lol.

KeymasterQuote:The Qiang Tribe, who is supposed to appear alongside the Hu at the Han Sui battle, is missing once you recruit them after the first tribal battle.Yep, didn't we just mention this earlier in the thread? Anyway yea, it's a nice caveat to eliminate him from the Han Sui battle at Meiyang (Mt. Da Xing).
Quote:Looks like there's a mistake in the tiling of the water! Haha, look two spaces above Li Su and there's a water square outlined by sand just floating in the ocean. Thanks bro. I'll try to fix that going into the next update tonight.
Quote:There's no apostrophe in "Eunuchs." lolololol The dying emperor says "Eunuch's" also.lol, thanks man…usually I'm good with that stuff but I screw up the apostrophe on occasion.
Quote:Also, no pic for this, since we all know about the Qing Zhou bridge. How about having Qiang Tribe "I'm a member of the Qiang Tribe" or something like that, instead of "I'm Qiang Tribe?"Great suggestion, I'll do that.
Quote:Should be either "The Emperor's" or "Emperor Ling's"Thanks again. Sometimes I forego that type of stuff to save space.
Quote:And what? Li Ru is gonna lead the "YUAN army" to victory? Thought we were playing Dong Zhuo…Yea, I've known that quote is screwed up. Thing is, it's one of those ones that is buried towards the end (it's not in order like a lot of the dialog is). Definitely will switch that around though, thanks for the reminder.
Quote:By the way, the story kind of throws out random names a lot and I lost track of who I'm supposed to be fighting, and where…Yea man, that was reality for Dong Zhuo. Everyone wanted a piece of him, especially after he overtakes the Eunuchs at Luo Yang.
Quote:And the only path I can take from Qing Zhou leads me to this fortress with 1k+ officers with Yan Re, which I assume isn't exactly where I'm supposed to be headed yet.Yea, the terrain is tricky. In the far northeast is now Liu Yu and Tian Chou. There is a secret after you beat them, but it's basically an 'optional' battle especially that early on.
Instead you will want to go south from here along the eastern coast of Qing Zhou. You should find a route that goes south and then west across a bridge, which leads to Wang Gou and the continuation of the story.

Soldier, get your spaces right. And make that town sound less awkward, lol. I'm guessing you put NanCounty as one word so the y wouldn't be shifted down a line?

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!

Also, a villager in Nan says that Zhang Rang and the Eunuchs are dead, and that that is good. But at the next castle, I face… Zhang Rang and the Eunuchs? o.O Or did you intend to have the villager say something like, "Zhang Rang and the Eunuchs are as good as dead now"?

KeymasterQuote:Soldier, get your spaces right. And make that town sound less awkward, lol. I'm guessing you put NanCounty as one word so the y wouldn't be shifted down a line?
Put it as NanCounty because that is the only name that would fit in place of Yang Zhou. The game is notorious for getting screwed up if you change the length of these set names (meaning if it is more characters or less characters, pointers are moved and all hell breaks loose). So it looks kinda bad but I had no other option. It's at least Ding Yuan's real area (Nan County).
Quote:LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!Yep. I copied that from the Yuan Shu mod, it's a good line so I figure why not leave it in there. Good old Emperor loves Cao Cao.
Quote:Also, a villager in Nan says that Zhang Rang and the
Yea, I should probably just change that. It is kind of done with the presumption that you will go to Luo Yang first and skip NanCounty when you walk past it. Otherwise, you cannot recruit Lu Bu if you just go and defeat Ding Yuan. But yes, it is certainly beatable which then makes the quote at the city not make any sense. So I'm probably better served to change that quote.
