ModeratorActually, that same thought crossed my mind since it was with Cao Cao and Yu Jin. Also I found the tables that handle displayed AC although its confusing in the guide since it doesn’t explicitly say “this is for displayed AC, and this one is for actual AC”…. well, now it does :D
Displayed AC for body armor:
Armor Defense: 0xfe750 to 0xfe758Displayed AC for helmets:
Helm Defense: 0xfe759 to 0xfe760Here is how it looks after a re-equip and billeting swap (which fixes officer data changes for some reason)
Any way we can get the AC Bar to go all the way to the end like the others? For some reason it stops short. The 235 AC bar isn’t even as long as the 153 INT bar.

ModeratorOkay, just got a bug and here is how it looks. Essentially DOAEditor is not working in unison with the formula that derives stats. It’s wrapping around, or something to that effect, much like the agility did before we knew about it. I was wondering why when I gave Cao Cao 255 LDR that it was going back down to 220 something, thats because it is not over-riding the formula which determines stats for LDR, VIT, and POL
Here will be the other issue… when officers who gain AGI go to the next chapter, that is also going to boost the values of anything that is based off of AGI, doing who know’s what to it.
Just got some more information about this. It’s doing it for Cao Cao (aka Liu Bei) Value A6-A8… its not doing it to either of the Xiahou Bros… It’s doing it with Yu Jin – Mi Zhu replacement (3C-3D)… wonder what the heck is going on. It seems to be doing that for some and not others.

ModeratorOkay, so changing the multiplier from 3 to 2 drops it down to 61 which is a LOT more reasonable in my opinion for an officer w/ these kinds of stats even at level 52. That makes a lot more sense in my book considering I’m trying to tone down a lot of the officers even with stats under 100- Mid 100’s (mostly its POL) for the warrior type officers.
I’m looking for the page that gives the address for that multiplier… I can see it is around 785D7 but I can’t seem to pick it out…

ModeratorAh, and about the base AC thing, it seems even people with marginal stats, have almost maxed out Base AC. For exmaple:
With stats like that, he should have at max 50 Base AC, not 91, but that has to do with the level multiplier as well. The Base AC should probably only marginally affect and should be thought of as its potential at level 51/52. So at level 52 this guy should have around 50 or so AC, level 25 it should be around 25, etc. I just don’t see any of the guts posted on the romhacking guide with addresses otherwise I would tinker with the level multiplier a bit. Any thoughts?

ModeratorThat could work. I remember that Steven Spielberg did something like that. It was an RPG that was meant to be completed in like 1-2 hrs, but had like 100+ hrs. of sidequests… needless to say though the game got scrapped :P
At any rate, I’ve been waiting for the Gongsun Zan mod about as long as the Jin Xuan mod!
sonic.penguin
ModeratorThat’s an idea! Currently POL determines drop rate, VIT determines defense and LDR determines…. what again? Hmm, at any rate, I think I could definitely use those for the additional ones. I’m particularly interested in how Gullwing will be functional…
I’ll keep working on the mod in the meantime. If you happen to get the fixes for the tactic stuff, let me know
sonic.penguin
ModeratorAlright alright, I’ll check into it then and see if I can create more functionality. The current setup which is entirely INT based is tiered by INT. For example:
<50 INT = Carnage (for beasts like tigers)
<100 INT = Duel + Carnage (for brutes)
<145 INT = Basic physical damage tactics
<175 INT = Basic physical damage tactics + Weak Auto Damage + Guard
<199 INT = Basic physical damage tactics + Strong Auto Damage + Guard
<210 INT = Basic physical damage + Basic Healing + Best Terror capability + Protect
<219 INT = Strongest physical damage + Wanfu Healing + Evade
<253 INT = Moderate elemental damage + Wanfu Healing + Evade + Zeal
<255 INT = High Elemental Damage + Miracle + Chaos + Ultimate Auto Damage + Zealsonic.penguin
ModeratorAh yes, vitality would make sense wouldn’t it? Doh! Well if that is the case, I’m going to have to tone down a lot of officers STR and VIT, but the biggest issue was those tactics not working and the displayed AC in DOAEditor.
Also, I like the calculator for damage in DOAEditor now, but how about one for Base AC in the officer section, this way you aren’t guessing what it will be like in game?

ModeratorOkay, so its’ been bugging me all day now. The timestap does not display properly unless you’re logged in… and it also doesn’t update properly on the page lordyuanshu.com/forums when a new post is made, it seems to read the same thing for hours, even if someone has made a new post.

ModeratorHeh, no, it’s “A Night With the Sonic and His Penguins.” :unibrow: I was going through the sound section of the mod one day and decided I wanted to see if there were any “hidden sounds/music” so I tested a whole bunch of different hex values just to see. Turns out there are a few blips and clicks, but nothing major like a rock-your-world music track/sound effect that was not put into the mod. At any rate, I recorded the fx and decided a song would be funny, so, here it is!
If you know of any other DOAE related music that could be posted here, by all means!

ModeratorOkay, so my guys are level 52, Zeal has a priority of 5 in slot 6, and a priority 2 tactic is trumping it (duel), same thing for Raise (priority 4), it is getting trumped by Life (priority 3) even though the priority is higher and they’re both INT based >_>
Haste, in slot 5 is also trumping Mislead which has a higher priority as well… So the issues I’m having are with Mislead, Raise, and Zeal… I’m assuming this might also affect the additional tactics but I’m not sure yet. I emailed you the current ROM.Looking at this also, I’m hoping Base A.C. can be drawn simply from STR because using INT as an enhancer just gives any guy with 200 INT a full base even if their STR is marginal. It would make things a lot more balanced between fighters and strategists. These are my thoughts on the breakdowns
STR 220+ = 100 Base AC Max
STR 200-219 = 80 Base AC MaxAnything less should drop dramatically:
STR 170-199 = 50 Base AC Max
STR 120 = 25 Base AC Max
STR <120 = 0-25 MaxOn another note, having each officer with their own classes is going to create a few issues:
1. Having enough available weapons, but this can be solved by using more which I think is available.
2. Spreading the weapons out to each shop.
3: Every time you billet someone, does the weapon de-equip if they cannot natively use it?
4. You're going to have to have a pack mule just to carry different types of weapons....sonic.penguin
ModeratorDisplayed AC (because of Base AC) is wrapping around to 255 and back down again… grrr, I would make the AC changes BUT changing the AC in DOAEditor does not change the displayed AC. I noticed that for weapons you had actual damage and displayed AC, but you don’t for armor… Here are the values I will use for each so it doesn’t wrap around and maxes out at 250 (leave 255 for enemies you want to have 1 damage on) you can put them in a new IPS for the displayed AC:
Robe 5
Leather 10
Padded 20
Ring M 30
Chain M 40
Splint M 60
Plate M 75Bandana 5
Cap 10
Hood 20
Wood H 30
Copper H 40
Bronze H 50
Iron H 60
Steel H 75Also, major inflation in the game, best armor gonna cost around 60 G’s :P
Would be nice to have a tab to update food too…. :D-

ModeratorOne thing I’m not going to use is the stat-based tactic system. It’s a great thing to have when applying a patch when you’re not going to modifying anything, but I like to create officers that are specialized but still get the good toys that they may not be qualified for similar to how my other mods are. It’s more work, but it pays off
