ModeratorQuote:The thing I always remember from that game is when you have a high war character you can just maul through weaker-war enemies so fast with Charge. Cool music in the game too.As is also the case in Nobunaga's Ambition LOD. Having Kenshin, Shingen, or Yukimura gave you such a huge advantage over other officers even with 5 less WAR stat. You would wind up doing 3x more damage with them essentially conquering the whole country with 1 officer.

ModeratorWish you could find coordinate data by mousing over map tiles insted of running the hex editor in FCE Ultra 2.0 and looking at lines 0060 and moving yourself to each tile or if you could drag and drop from a menu a certain "battle" onto a tile like dropping a map tile.

ModeratorQuote:Then again regular DoaE seems so easy compared to he mods we make.I did a playthrough once where I just went all-out every battle to level and in boss battles. It was pretty easy in the original.

ModeratorQuote:Part of me wonders if they took out the Chen Jiao + Xu Huang ambush battles because it would just be too nasty to put more battles before Chin Castle (thus making it near impossible to have a straight-shoot through; it already is hard having the second Si Ma Yi battle and usually having your TP spent by the time you finish that battle). Then again regular DoaE seems so easy compared to he mods we make.
Really have no idea where they were planning to have Yan Xun (Yan Jun). He's so weak and by himself it's basically an all-out battle no matter where it is in Wu.
Actually, you can replace random villager text with the event text for the inn. I did this at Chen Liu at one point to create an Inn there thus eliminating having to go on a cross country trek to restore TP but wound up deleting it. I may still use the idea though.
Generic Inn Keeper event text is
Welcome! The
price is
[VALUE][INN-CST][INN-CST-2] gold coins per[>]
night. Shall I
prepare your
room?
[EVENT-5991]
Note that [VALUE][INN-CST][INN-CST-2] is necessary otherwise it screws everything up if you just have the [EVENT-5991]

ModeratorGot it! All I had to do to replace the ambush such as the Xu Huang Ambush, was to
A. find a map tile and write down its coordinates such as 0A 07 07 13 (right outside LouSang village)
B. Find the 4 pointers for the battles around it in the hex which were Chen Liu fortress and Chin. Those hex codes are found on that main hack page.
C. After you have those address, its just a matter of replacing those pointers at each of the 4 points. They're easy to search for since you can look for
1st search 30C4F
08 00 00 0B as an address search. The 3rd entry is the first pointer for the Xu Huang battle, in this case I would replace it with my 0A.
2nd search @ 30CA70D 00 00 0B. Again, the 3rd address is the 2nd pointer of the xu huang battle aka 07.
3rd search @ 30CFF
0C 00 00 09 REPEAT replace 3rd address with 07
4th search @ 30D57
0E 00 00 0E REPEAT replace 3rd address with 13
and it works! I was able to fight Du Yu in my mod with 30,000hp right outside Lousang :D "I'm Du Yu, let's fight!"
Actually, the 2nd column of 00 is the Chen Jiao battle. Now its just a matter of putting the proper generals in their places via officer placement :)
Now to do the other ambushes…

Moderatornevermind, got it, in the works now!

Moderator0 0 0 0 -> makes them events such as talking to the pang tong guy and then pang tong appears. I wonder what makes them random encounters anywhere in the specified zone and not just on a certian map cell like gates and castles.
I see what you mean by assigning them to a cell, once I get FCE 2.0 maybe I can start reading cell data… unless someone wants to give me a direct link here :)

Moderatorwhen watching the debugging menu in FCE @ 006X the #'s arent changing as I move around the map.

ModeratorUpping crit power WAY messes up the game. Doubling it from 33 -> 66 makes people hit around 15,000-20,000 with a halberd and Bei Ji (zeal) and thats on end-game foes lol. I think just adjusting rate is the best unless you severely underpower weapons which would be a lot more work…

Moderator1. Yan Xun
2. Chen Jiao/Wang Lang
3. Xu Huang/Guo Jia /Song Xian
4. Huang Zhong/Wei Yan
So these addresses would be for example the Hex + world map location
40 – Chen Jiao *4* – 00 00 00 00
by inputting a location of the world map into these coordinates it would essentially "activate" the said battle that would correspond to the hex (might need to change officers) correct me if im wrong, just trying to be clear.
