ParticipantI noticed Jian Yong has very few soldiers… but this is a Wu mod, right? Why would Jian Yong (a personal favorite character of mine) be with Wu at this point?

ParticipantOh nice! The first page! I got through Zhang Jue and he did use Flood at least once, to my great surprise. I had Protect, but I didn't use it, thinking to just burn him down with Boulder, and a Hasted Yuan Shao. Yeah, that hurt. Once I got rid of him though I dealt with He Yi easily enough and Liu Pi chose to heal himself or normally attack more often than using a tactic. All in all it was a hard fought fight and I Love the Defend change. It does encourage two strategist types in the party though for that purpose. At least when fighting scripted generals.

ParticipantI agree with many of the sentiments of sonic.penguin, though I recall the early changing of Pink to Yellow, myself.
I really like different stat based Tactics, it adds variety and spice. Boulder and Arrows are pretty neat ideas. I had a question though. Can they fail like an Intelligence based tactic?

ParticipantHmm, you know there are a Lot more Mountains than Water in this game. Perhaps the Water tactics should be turned into Mountain tactics like Rockslide, Avalanche, etc?

ParticipantWell, I have to say the Mod is unbelievable with these changes! I'm only starting Chapter 2 but keeping Cui Jun as Strategist to keep Charge rather than putting the more intelligent Chen Lin there is a very interesting dynamic. Also I really like what you've done with He Yi he is a very solid officer all around, especially for this point in the game!

ParticipantThe game seems to have a lot of duplicates in weapons, armor, and… well nearly every item seems to be duplicated. Also weapons and armors, aside from bows with their double strike are just boring.
Why not touch up the equipment system a bit to where it may not be beneficial to equip every new armor you get without checking its effects. I always imagined that with how basic the majority of the weapons and armor were (until you get the 5 Legendary swords) that you were basically equipping your Men with these, and not necessarily yourself.
For instance…
Dagger – Raises AGI by 50, the downside is of course their abysmal attack rating.
Flail – Raises STR by 10, lowers DP by 10.
Ax – Raises STR by 5, lowers AGI by 25
Club – Raises AGI by 25, increases DP by 15, lowers STR by 10
Spear – Raises STR, INT, AGI by 5.
Sabre – Raises STR, AGI by 10.
Trident – Raises INT by 15, increases DP by 10
Bow – Fine as is.
Sword – Nothing, a basic weapon.
Battleax – Raises STR by 50, Lowers INT by 200
Scimitar – Raises AGI by 30, Lowers STR by 10
Crossbow – Fine as is.
Lance – Raises STR, INT, AGI by 15.
This is just in the normal weapons. If it turns out that there's a way to utilize the copies of weapons and armor, you can make a complete set that is geared more towards strategists.

ParticipantUmm… using the Rom you provide there to test out the changes supplies me with a glitched up party, garbage pixels for Cui Jun and Juye and a game freeze whenever you try to do anything in battle.
A bit bizarre… all I did was extract it, I didn't make any other changes to it.

ParticipantI don't know… as this is a Yuan Shao mod, I think each of the four well known strategists of Yuan Shao should be given a unique skill, Tian Feng, Ju Shou, Guo Tu, and Shen Pei.
This sounds like a skill that would be given to Tian Feng.

ParticipantCode? Whosa-whasa? I recall a while back a massive flood of SpamBots to where several people were given permission to edit and delete posts just to deal with them. Are they attracted by certain word phrasing or something of that sort? If so I'll try to be more careful.

ParticipantYour variable Officer Types is a very good first step towards that. You've moved from just the basic General/Strategist/Tactician, to something much more.
Though I have to say I am curious to know what your other plan to make officers unique will be.
(On that note one thing I've seen woefully unused has been weapons and armor, they just seem so basic and to try to branch them out a little might help in making a different experience)

ParticipantYou are working like a man possessed! While I would love the RTKXI-esque skill system suggested earlier, I can only imagine how much work that would all take. But talk about making every officer truly unique with those.

ParticipantWorking on a Kill code? That could be difficult to remove a general from the game completely I would imagine. But it sounds like another way to make the game more exciting, looking forward to progress on that as well.

ParticipantSo what happens if you're playing normal DoaE and you get ambushed by Yuan Shao and use Duel and he happens to be An Sha'd during it (if he accepts it). Does he die then or does he still reappear later?
