Watch the opening scenes as you start a new game. Name the Hero. Including a Nick Name.
Shibuya 901 : Day Before : Mid-August
The summer of your second year of high school is almost over. People visiting Tokyo have begun traveling back home. It feels as if there are fewer people about in Shibuya. Your cousin Naoya, with whom you’d been living until a few years ago, suddenly called for you to meet him outside 901…
Atsuro comes by to say he has a problem with coding, and then Yuzu Tanikawa comes by. Ask her where Naoya is and she just ran into him. Turns out she has game systems for you, very DS-like. Communication Player things, or just COMPs. Just choose to remove the crack. Or should you not since they are Naoya’s? Either way, Atsuro does it and gets a COMP.
Read the message. At around 16:00, a man will be killed in a Shibuya-ku Aoyama apartment by a carnivorous beast. A large explosion will occur in Minato-ku Aoyama at 19:00. At 21:00, a blackout will affect the entire Tokyo metropolitan area. Have a nice day.
You are then introduced to the map. You can also press X to look at your menu and do things like save your game (only one save slot). Places we can check out include Ebisu, Omotesando, Harajuku, Aoyama, and Shinjuku. Omotesando seems to be a place to spend money. Aoyama is a residentual area.
Something seems to be going on at the Shinjuku. Shomonkai ‘freaks’ are here. Go to ???.
Shinjuku, Kannagi-cho
Yuzu wonders what to do. Meanwhile, a suspicious group in orange come up. “…the smiting from God against the Tower of Babel
returns! With the power of the internet, the world will be as one once more…”.
Omotesando
Go to Yuzu under Omotesando. Talk a bit, and you realize it’s 4:30. Cop cars are headed over to Aoyama.
Aoyama : Residential Area
The police were headed to the building where Naoya is. Turns out a student was eaten next door to Naoya. Naoya says some more creepy stuff, and has no intention of answering anything else.
Atsuro then calls you up. He’s at the Electric Museum in Shibuya!
Save, and then choose ‘Atsuro’. You then see Naoya ahead. Atsuro finishes it up – decryption confirmed. DEMON SUMMONING PROGRAM ready to boot?! Let’s Survive.
Devil Survivor Mission 1
Three creatures seem to have appeared from the COMPs, one being a Pixie. She encounters Yuzu, so fight back. Kabuso attacks next, and then a Kobold. Kobold uses a guaranteed critical, so it might be wise to guard. Try to gang up on the Pixie with Hero and Yuzu, as Atsuro has no problems with the Kabuso. If you gain a level with the Hero, you get to choose which stat you would like to add to. Each enemy that falls is becomes a servant to the character.
After the battle, choose to look at the COMPs a bit more. Atsuro recognizes that this is the Demon Summoning Program. Within the COMP, Atsuro also finds the Harmonizer. Anyway, the party surmises that they can prevent these demons from destroying any given area by following the ‘clue’ emails you have been getting. Also, there are numbers above people’s heads. Everyone here has a 1.
Naoya’s House
The police are still surveying the scene, but Yuzu points out a bunch of newspapers. As you read them, NAOYA sends you an email. He tells you what you already know – also though, to go to Aoyama Cemetery to see a person who will affect your future activities. Read the other email to learn more about the ‘Demon Taming’. It’s related to the Teams in the COMP menu.
Atsuro talks to you some more about the COMP. The function called Skill Set looks like it lets us use Magic Spells. Check your COMP so you can look at the Team function, see the beasts you have acquired, and the spells that they have (and your human allies too).
Just as you get to the graveyard, you will remember the explosion..
Devil Survivor Mission 2
Sure enough, a battle looms after the huge explosion. A Wendigo is seen running out of the northwest forest. It smashes up a ‘believer’, who cries for Lady Amane. As he dies, you see the number above his head vanish. A Priestess then runs out. As the mission starts, the objective is to defeat all Demons and make sure all three characters stay alive. The Priestess joins your party, but warns that Wendigo is too powerful for you right now.
This battle is different than the last, because each character should have a monster aiding them. Like any Persona, you are looking to exploit the enemy’s weakness. Use Agi on those Kobolds, for example. First order of business should be positioning your three characters to attack the next turn (though Atsuro can attack turn 1). Priestess can use Maragi on the Wendigo, and the Wendigo and Priestess will then flee. Pretty much everyone else in this battle is weak against Agi, from the Kobolds to the Ogre’s and Pixie’s. Kabuso will be a nice asset. Just spread out the kills and kill off the side enemies first for more exp.
After Mission 2, the lights go out in Tokyo, as said in the email. That strange Priestess walks up, and introduces herself. She is actually Amane Kuzuryu, maiden of the Shomonkai. Oddly enough, she sets up a barrier and leaves, telling you to stay until dawn. Read your emails, and you can respond to the one from Atsuro. After, you’ll be at the next day.
1st Day Tokyo Lockdown
Talk a bit with your friends, and of course you get an email from Naoya. He explains the Death Clock to you, which is what you figured – the estimated days left a character has to live, based on the calculations from the Laplace System. Which is why at times you’ve noticed your number going away after battles, with the immediate threat over. Read the Laplace Mail to learn about all the wonderful things that will be happening today.
Omotesando
After you leave the Cemetery, Yuzu stops. The streets of Miyamasuzuka are crowded, you cannot get near the station. Poisonous gas has leaked here, with all the people here. The SDF guy calms everyone, and the party surmises there is probably more than poisonous gas being leaked inside. But you must be careful with your COMPs – the police would question you. Save your game after this, because you have a chance to go around a bit.
Go to the Roppongi first, and listen to the people. You will get 50 Macca. Then you will have to choose your time however you see fit. I went to ???, and you see a scene with Kaido of the Shibuya Daemons. A daemon is a guardian spirit, says Atsuro. Just go ahead and talk to him and ask him about Naoya, and then about any secret exits.
After this, you will get two more emails. One from Naoya, telling you about the Devil Auction that you now have access to. You acquired three devils earlier in a battle, but from now on the Devil Auction is the only way to get new demons to join you. Save, and then do a few devil auctions. You will get the hang of it – basically, bid at the end, trying to keep it as low as you can. No matter what, at the very end you get a chance to put up a max bid (so long as you bid at least once before). Basically, you can save 10% – 15% off the ‘buy it now’ price if you go along and bid. Obviously as you bid for the better demons you’ll be wanting to save often to try to save as much Macca as possible. A bought a level 4 Pixie and level 4 Ogre and went to look at the Yamanote Line.
The area near the Ebisu Station is also blocked off. Seems these SDF Force guys don’t have a Death Clock present. Not much to do here, so head over to Atsuro. Or you can choose Yuzu. I’m assuming this just goes into their backgrounds (it did for Atsuro, telling why he’s so brilliant with COMPs). After this, some new things open up.
Omotesando
Head over to Omotesando to see ???. Some guy who recognizes Yuzu is here. Yuzu tells of this indie singer she likes, Haru. This is Haru’s guardian, Gin (Eiji). You can go see him at the bar if you need to talk later.
Roppongi Boulevard
Check the ???. It’s Haru. Yuzu loses herself, then after the quick performance she says Haru used to be in the band called D-Va. But ah, her Death Clock was at zero. Yuzu would like to help, but there are more important things, like your own Death Clock being at zero.
Check the Yamanote line once more. Again, the SDF has it blocked. Someone Atsuro recognizes comes up, a guy named Keisuke. He gasps at your number – mention this to your friends, because he must be able to see numbers too. His was 1.
Shinjuku – Naoya – Mission 3
Save, and then head over to Shinjuku, where you see Naoya + Battle. Head towards him quick, but he gets away and sics some Demons after you. Clearly, the toughest ones of the bunch are the level 7 Moh Shuyuu’s, that like to use Bufu for good damage. Definitely will have to heal after that, and obviously don’t use Zio since they will drain that. You may not have a wind (Zan) attack to exploit this unfortunately. However, you have Agi, and that at least does more damage than most regular attacks. This is a tough battle – you can always do a practice battle before this, and / or acquire more demon pets to help you out. There are a ton of enemies on this stage, so you may feel overwhelmed.
At the end, a Waira unit comes in with a Pixie. Waira is level 9 with 155 HP, and has Devil Speed as an ability. This thing is tough, and hopefully you have enough HP and MP left by the time it gets into the fray. It will use Zan, eating up your Ogre’s and doing good damage on everyone else. Take out the Pixie next to it asap, of course, and then just have everyone surround it. Mission Complete.
You and your friends still have a 0 on the Death Clock, however. You do get a few emails, about Macca Bonuses in battle (which you just learned a bit about). Another one on Skill Set Bonus, if certain conditions are met within battle. The key to this function is an energy known as Magnetite.
After Mission 3, you might want to go back into the Devil Auction and get a Wilder Waira (preferably with a Sharp Claw) and an Avian Moh Shuyuu, if you can afford them. Bid efficiently, and maybe do a battle to earn some more Macca and EXP.
Ikebukuro Sunset Street
Check out the Yamanote Line here. Another blocked path. Suggest the east side. Two more emails come your way – read about Skill Cracks from the COMP.sys. Of course, another personal email from Naoya.
Suidobashi – Kourakuen Bunkyoku – Tokyo Dome
Check out the Suidobashi – Tokyo Dome for a battle. Save beforehand. Three are to be murdered by an Abominable Snowman. You three happen to be at the scene (with a 0 on the Death Clock..)
Sure enough, a Wendigo shows up and says you’re screwed. Uh oh, looks like we’re actually going to have to fight it this time. Line your party up by the other two enemy units (as close as you can get). Notice that you can now Crack Skills in this battle – except for the high-level Wendigo abilities. Though if you are leveled enough, you may be able to get Ice Dance, which would be a boon. Try to crack a Bufu or two for your main characters. The Moh Shuyuu unit has two low level Kabuso enemies, so it should be easy to slaughter. The unit with three Waira enemies is not one to mess with and will probably slow you down a bit. Other enemies will continue to filter out from the northwest – some are pathetic, some are a nuisance. Wendigo is an entirely different story. Easily the hardest battle / unit you’ve faced yet, and you’re likely to lose a unit (I lost Yuzu). Anyway, ganging up on it with Agi is the key, though you’ll need some Zan users to pierce through the Moh Shuyuu’s. Wendigo’s physical attacks are absurd, but maybe the most dangerous ability is Ice Dance which hits everyone multiple times for a lot of damage. It is random, so it can be devastating or you can get lucky. This will wreak havoc on one of your units, but thankfully he only used it once against me (he’ll use it the first time he encounters you). You get 250+ EXP for taking out Wendigo. Threaten the rest of the demons, and they’ll leave.
Looks like things are okay for the time being, but your Death Clock is still 0. Well wait, it changes to 2. Atsuro realizes though that these COMPs run on rechargeable batteries, so we need to find a charger. Atsuro suggests Akihabara.
Akihabara
Check out the stations beneath the tracks in Akihabara. You see Keisuke, who has a hand-powered charger! Keisuke brings you to a back-alley store, where you obtain a charger. Seems that the SDF Forces are the only ones that are going to survive this lockdown – something will happen in six days. Emails come in.
From COMP.sys, about Cath.exe. The Cathedral of Shadows is an organization that fuses demons together. If you’ve played Persona 3 for example, you will be familiar with this type of fusing. Things really open up for you after this. You can check the Yamanote Lines in various locations, or meet several different people. Also, spend some time fusing your lesser demons.
Ikebukuro
You meet Midori Komaki here, cosplaying and catching Atsuro’s attention. Turns out she’s Dolly.
Roppongi
Go here, since you see Haru and ???. Haru had a 0 for her Death Clock if you remember. A man named Azuma is trying to convince her to join the Shomonkai. Talk to Haru for a bit, and she’ll head off.
Shiba Park
Check out ??? at Shiba Park. Plenty of people stranded here, and then you notice the Shomonkai cultists, and their founder making a speech about the Tower of Babel. You’ll have a cultist come up, but then Amane Kuzuryu steps in, the maiden of the Shomonkai.
After this, start to check the different Yamanote Lines. None of them will open up. Eventually, you will want to look for Kudanshita, where Haru and a battle are.
Kudanshita – Bugeikan
Something is going on here. Haru is in trouble, but can use a COMP so she’s not worried. However, the COMP is out of batteries, so she can’t do much. Haru cannot die in this battle, so you’ll have to rush her and protect her. This battle should be alright, so long as you don’t stop to fight the enemies along the way. When they fight you, feel free to fight back, but don’t waste valuable time in the turn order initiating a battle against them. The Waira unit will attack her the first turn, so you really have to hustle to get over there to take that unit out. The enemies here aren’t particularly hard, but you’ll want plenty of Zio-users for the bot enemies. Maybe the biggest factor is whether or not the enemy gets Bind off on your units, which obviously will hamper your ability to get to Haru and save her. With any luck, you should be able to make it there and take out these mediocre enemies.
After the battle, Haru talks about her Sequencer. It’s her way of summoning demons, by singing in sync with the sequencer. If you pry, you find out she got it from Aya, the old leader of D-Va.
Shinagawa – Shomonkai HQ
Meet with Gin here. Well, actually you just catch him staring at Shomonkai HQ. Go meet with Yuzu for a bit, and then save and make your way to the Cemetery when you are ready.
Aoyama Cemetery
As you enter, you see a portal for demons entering the area, right in the middle of the Cemetery. Another portal is by your side, and Yuzu notices a COMP in the miasma. You can move over to the space and do the ‘pick up’ option, to grab the COMP and get rid of the miasma. If you want, you can go to the northwest part of the map to get the other COMP, but it might not be worth your time – you’ll do it automatically after the battle, and all the enemies come to you anyway.
Hopefully at this point you have a nice variety within each group, both in terms of fighters / magicians but also having each elemental attack to match up with weaknesses. Most of these enemies you’ve seen – the Bilwis Bots, the Moh Shuyuu’s and Waira’s. However, some new enemies are around, like the Femme Kikimora’s and Hairy Jack Beasts. You may have ran across them through fusions. Either way, they have weaknesses like anything else, so exploit them and try to crack as many skills as you can. Poison+ can be a nice added effect for Atsuro, one of your main physical attackers.
Shibuya
Head to Shibuya where there is a scene with Atsuro + Yuzu. The group talks about all the things that have happened, from the Laplace Mail to the Cathedral of Shadows (fusing demons). Read your emails and make your replies to Yuzu and ‘At-Low‘. Save after this.
Day 2 – Any Way Out
You are now on day 2. It seems the Gov’t still has things on lock down, and the party wonders when that will change. As you speak, a Laplace Mail comes in for the day. A monster will appear in Minato-ku Shiba at 17:00 but thanks to the Shomonkai no one will die. However, at 18:00 in Toyoshima-ku Ikebukuro, there will be over 50 deaths by a monster.
Many new places to go once things clear up, including some new demons to get from the auction if you so please (Genma Jambavan, not that great).
Shinjuku – Kannagi-Cho
Head here to see a guy drop off some rations.
Omotesando
Head to Omotesando to see Gin & Kaido. It seems Gin is holding a COMP. A new time-based action is set in Kanda Station, for Kaido. Kaido just goes ahead and asks you about the Bloodless Murders. Note that if you choose these two events, you miss out on the Omotesando event (where a guy lies about seeing Haru) and then one with Yuzu / Atsuro.
Highway Ramp
You meet some people as you get here. A guy in a suit named Yasuyuki Honda and he mentions that you should share information with him as you find new things out. Good idea. Many new areas open up after this, including choices that you passed up just a bit earlier.
Check out Kanda for Miss Mari Mochizuki, someone Atsuro recognizes. You can go back this way to see a scene with Mari and Kaido, with Kaido getting upset and Mari wanting Kaido to not put himself in danger. Or you can go to Shibuya to see Kaido and Honda go off talking about COMPs. After you choose two of these events, it is time to go to the Tokyo Tower.
Shiba Park – Tokyo Tower
You meet a Tamer Thug as you get here. Unfortunately, these guys are looking to collect COMPs and probably need to be stopped. Don’t back down, just choose to fight them. They are of high level and have some tough demons, though. Another problem is that these Tamer Thugs are able to use abilities for all their allies at the beginning of battle, plus they have no weaknesses. So it takes a while to take these units out, but if you have even decent Demons on your side you should be able to withstand their attacks. The second heat of thugs doesn’t hit the forefront for a little bit, so feel free to take out the ones that appeared like right on top of you. After the battle, the group realizes that with the current situation, more people will be abusing these COMPs.
A few new places to go, but check out the Devil Auctions. Some of the newer enemies you just fought are in here, like the Dragon Toubyou and Wilder Garms. Check out the Shiba Park – if anything, more people have came to wait here. Makes it dangerous should a Demon appear. At Ikebukuro there is a ??? to meet. This is Shoji the journalist. She asks you a bunch of questions, but does mention that the city highway connects to the subway at the end. She tells of the Akasaka Tunnel. Shoji has also heard rumors that the lockdown has been done with the purpose to keep monsters from escaping. Shoji goes further into this topic, realizing that the government is slowing giving out information to make it look like they’re working on the main issue, to control panic.
Maybe do a random battle if you haven’t for a while, and then head to the Akasaka Tunnel.
Akasaka Tunnel
This place is a mess, just like everywhere else. The screen will switch to battle-mode, and you will see a Gagyson. The gagyson has a device to summon more demons. You must stop them immediately.
After moving your characters the first time, the Gagyson mentions Master Beldr. Seems they have a plan. There are three of these Gagyson enemies, and their units obviously are the toughest. They do not move though – they are stationary, and they summon weaker enemies like Bilwis bots. Still, it’s an annoyance, so charge the Gagyson units and destroy them. Try to crack Elec Dance if you can – it’s expensive, but great for enemies weak against Zio. Speaking of, you’ll want plenty of Zio and Zan users (and Bufu helps a bit too). After summoning about 5-6 of these Bilwis bots, the Gagyson enemies seem to stop. This makes rushing them a cinch, so you have no excuse not to crack Life Bonus and / or Elec Dance.
After the battle, the party goes over the fact that it’s not good that demons are using COMPs now. Could it be a high-level demon? Anyway, a woman charges you. Hero and friends run away, barely.
Of course, we can now get Fallen Gagyson’s from the Devil Auction. Head to Omotesando to meet up with Atsuro. What is the point of these Demon’s coming to this world anyway? Do they all have contracts? After this talk, many new places open up for you.
At Omotesando, you meet a guy who tries to lie to you about Haru. You may have done this earlier, but he says he called someone, which would have been impossible. Head to Tokyo – Hibiya Park to find that same guy, who won’t tell you about his Master but he seems like a Demon Worshipper. Save, and head to Kanda. You may have already done the first scene with Mari here, though there is a second one with her quarreling with Tadashi ‘Kaido’.
Ikebukuro – Eikokuji
Head here when you are ready for a battle. There are Demons abound, and Lilim is looking for your equipment (COMPs). They too are pawns of the great demon master Beldr. Kaido and Honda then come from the east end to join the battle. This battle is annoying, mostly because of the Jack Frosts and their ability to spam Dia and Charm. Especially when paired with those Snake Makara’s that will use Dia all day long too. Thus, try to finish off enemies whenever possible so that they can’t get restored to full health. The other enemies you’ve seen before, but by and large it seems you’ll want Bufu and Zan users in this battle. Try to head over to Honda and Kaido to help them stave off the demons. Three sets of Gagyson demons appear towards the end of the battle, but they should be easy to mop up by the time they get near you (assuming you still have some MP).
Honda and Kaido head off and the party wonders about this Beldr demon. Again, you have a few choices for events to head out for. You can see three different Honda events, with him trying to find a way through the Yamanote to get to his ailing son. After the third event, Atsuro wonders if there is more to Honda than meets the eye, as he had a radio he shoved into his pocket. You can choose between these three events, or you can see Kaido twice (learning more about his motives regarding his brother) and then Honda once. Either way, battle at the Tokyo Tower when you are prepared.
Tokyo Tower
Of course you see Demons as you enter. But you also see an Office Girl surrounded. More workers are surrounded, but Atsuro makes up a lie that monsters are at Shiba Park, so the police officer runs offs. However, one of the demons follows the police officer, so we will have to dispatch these Demons quickly.
The biggest issue is probably an enemy slipping by, especially one of the tougher units. They cannot reach the northeast end otherwise the battle ends. The worker unit on the left is under heavy attack quickly, but the other units you should have no trouble saving. Watch out for the Gozuki enemies, they are by far the toughest random enemies you’ve faced yet. Berserk can be a brutal physical maneuver, but it can be terrible sometimes as well. Still, Gozuki units are the ones you’ll want to go afte to make sure they can’t flee the battle.
Shiba Park
After the battle, the party figures people are probably pretty freaked out that they are fighting with Demons. The scene then shifts to Shiba Park with a police officer protecting people, and then the Shomonkai come in to intervene. Lady Amane stops in and calms everyone. Then she turns into a ‘Goddess’, which looks a lot like a Demon. The enemy says that the name is Laksmi.
Atsuro wonders if something is up with the Shomonkai and the Demon Summoning Program, since they did ask Naoya to create it. Time for a scene with Kaido at Kanda (or with Honda if you’ve done the Kaido scenes). Then, off to Ikebukuro.
Ikebukuro
This is where many potential victims are. Midori Komaki and Keisuke Takagi are here, with Keisuke trying to calm her. Keisuke summons Jack Frost and Pyro Jack. Keisuke realizes it is his day to die protecting Midori, but it seems her Death Clock is 0 as well. Atsuro and the rest of you come in to save them. With little effort, Midori should be protected. But Keisuke is under heavy fire early on, and his demons will likely be routed quickly. Head on over there as fast as you can to clear out the enemies near him. The key is to not be afraid to throw out all the ‘Dance’ type magic abilities to quickly get the jump on enemy units. You will burn through your MP but the only relevant thing is to get through the early turns with Keisuke alive.
Keisuke and Midori have their Death Clocks changed to 5. Keisuke brings up the possibility that the Defense Force causes all the deaths, since they have nothing over their Death Clock. Midori snatches a COMP that you found earlier and goes off with Keisuke, eager to learn how to use a COMP.
Shibuya
Head to Shibuya where there is an Atsuro and Yuzu event. Another day and you are still stuck in the circle. Not to mention you have no days left starting tomorrow.
3rd Day : Beldr
Third day Beldr means trouble looms for you. It is likely the 0 days left on your Death Clock is related to this Beldr character. GGGGGoood mornining. Here is todday’s NEWS. Only thing of note is that in Minato-ku Aoyama Cemetery, Beldr the immortal will be revived. 300 casualties and you can probably guess who three of them are. Afterwards, Keisuke comes up wanting to talk about Midori. Seems she is doing good things but her Death Clock changed as a result. Offer to help out, and Keisuke will officially join your team. When he does, his Death Clock will turn to 0 like yours. What do you do though, save Midori or get out of here by 18:00 when Beldr is scheduled to come mess stuff up.
A few things to do here (Shoji, Kaido and Honda). I went to Kanda to meet with Shoji, the reporter. She doesn’t know much about Beldr but is too skeptical about the chances for our world. After this, too many things open up to mention. First of all though, you will need new Demons for your friend Keisuke who joined as the fourth unit. Pay 800 Macca for the Gold Card at the Devil Auction to acquire higher-level demons.
You can head to Akasaka Tunnel to see that SDF Female that you ran from earlier. She agains points a gun at you, though after some discussion she’s willing to believe you’re humans and will talk. But she can’t let you through, since some demons use human form to trick people. The lady is Captain Misaki Izuna.
Go to Shinjuku to see Naoya. You see him for a second, and then you see Gigolo. Strange guy here. He knows Naoya and of Beldr and the Death Clock. He gives you some advice, saying there is something you must find to be able to compete with Beldr.
Tokyo
Go to Tokyo, to the Haru scene. She’ll be playing music, but a group of demons is here to sneak up on her. Of course, you cannot let Haru die in this battle (or Hero for that matter). Lots of enemy units in this stage (many reinforcements), but you have a fourth character so you’ll see how efficient you can be with three total new allies in battle. Keisuke might start off with few abilities but soon he’ll be formidable in battle (and he’s quite fast and covers a lot of distance). You’ve seen these monsters before, but the Wendigo’s aren’t quite the threat they used to be. Pyro Jack is new but nothing particularly special. If you have characters that fly / teleport, that will make the route to Haru much easier. Heal her upon getting near her and she’s sure to have sustained some damage. Mop up the reinforcements and that’s that.
Haru now has a whopping 1 day left on her Death Clock, but it beats 0. She’s really being hounded by demons though, for her ‘ancient tongue’.
Many new areas open up, and several that you didn’t get to do before the Haru battle. You can only do two total before the next battle. You can meet with Haru at Kudanshita, and you can meet her again afterwards. I chose to do that. You can also meet with Atsuro, Honda, Gin, and save a kid in a tree with a demon. Again, after two total events, you will next have to go to Ikebukuro to see what Midori is up to.
Ikebukuro
As you get here, you see the Magical Dolly the Warrior of Love, taking on Demons all by herself. Well, she does summon Cait Sith. Combined with those Cait Sith’s, her unit is good enough to manage for a time. It’s the villagers you want to rush to and protect. This battle is a joke for the most part, so long as you get to those villagers in time to heal them or allow them to leave to the southeast. You may run across some new enemies like Mezuki‘s, who you can crack Mazio from. Just make sure that the villagers flee before finishing off the rest of the enemies. Because..
A big grey statue-like demon appears, and yes, it’s Beldr. Midori tried to attack it, but to no avail. Beldr sends out a Vampire Mist attack that does anywhere from 0-80 damage (but usually 20-30) to everyone on the map. Hopefully your villagers have escaped before Beldr comes out. As you retreat, Beldr summons some enemies to stop you. Tough, new enemies like Basilisks, Cait Siths and Vidofnir. More importantly, they have really high levels. Gang up on them to efficiently take them out. Beldr is very slow, so if you can take out his allies you should be able to escape, along with Midori. Midori escapes automatically but you have to get on the blue space and choose ‘run’. Once everyone is gone, your Mission is complete.
Shinagawa
Head to Shinagawa for an Atsuro scene. He is able to access some data about Beldr – Loki had him killed with devil’s fuge. It seems there is still much to learn about the Devil’s Fuge. We can go get more information at Nagata-Cho, but other scenes are available too (Shibuya (saving the kid), Omotesando (Gin), Suidobashi (Midori) and Ikebukuro (Atsuro + Honda). After a scene, you get an option of a battle with Honda and Kaido. Anyway, I chose to see Atsuro a few times and he ran into his friend 10BIT. 10 BIT passes away but not before handing over a COMP, telling of a big secret that the government is hiding.
Seeing Midori puts you in another battle where you have to protect her and villagers. Try to crack Berserk with Atsuro, if you can. Most challenging part of this stage is when the Wendigo’s bind your characters and the citizen, leaving you to suffer and move one step at a time. For this reason, try to wipe out the Wendigo’s as fast as you can and make sure the Civilian and Midori stay healed, though Midori should be fine for the most part.
Ask around about the Devil’s Fuge. Turns out, it’s a plant. However, someone bought it and you’ll have to meet them at 17:00 at Nagata-Cho.
Shibuya
Eventually, you will have to go to the battle with Kaido and Honda at Shibuya. As you head there, you can hear voices nearby – sure enough, it is Kaido speaking with Honda. They spot some demons, and Kaido is looking to cash in on the Macca. There are 7 enemy units and you need to defeat four of them before Kaido and Honda do. They’ll start the battle off by killing one unit, thanks to Kaido using Double-Hit. But worry not, this tactic makes it take forever for him to act again, so this should give you time to rush to the center and take out three units. Problem is, you have to get to the southeastern end of the battlefield to take out one more unit, so you’ll either have to race past Honda and Kaido in the northeast, or use a flying character to fly across the center to the Pyro Jack enemy unit for the fourth kill. This battle can be annoying at times and you may feel like you are going to lose, but be patient and efficient and you should be fine. Remember, you just need to defeat the leaders, so feel free to just head-hunt them as you’re probably used to killing off the side enemies as well. If you can crack something nice like Ice Rise and Fire Rise, even better.
After you win though, Pazuzu comes in and has pity for Kaido. Honda recognizes Pazazu as the Demon King of the Wind. Kaido doesn’t seem to mind, and has a new demon partner. This doesn’t seem good. Anyway, you still have to finish off the battle if there are other enemy units, which should be simple.
Kudanshita – Bugeikan
There is a battle at Kudanshita – Bugeikan. Turns out the Shomonkai are pestering citizens for their COMP, or to get them to join their cause. Don’t worry about these Zealots. However, they have important abilities we want to crack, like Fortify and especially Blitzkrieg, upping your attack power. Mazan and Elec Rise are nice too. Either way, you’ll find this is an easy battle. Towards the end, some true ‘believers’ from the Shomonkai will come in from the northwest to aid you. Not that you need it. If anything, these reinforcements might come in and screw up by killing one of those northwest Zealots and ruining your ability crack session.
Nagata-Cho – Kasumigaseki – Diet Building
Head to Nagata-Cho after you have saved. We need to meet them at the Diet Building for the Devil’s Fuge information. As you get there, a Pyro Jack is seen talking about the Believers of Belial. You have some Demon Tamer’s here, and you need to beat them up as well as the mediocre Demons you’ve seen before. The Demon Tamer’s cannot die – you have to be the ones to defeat them, and then they ‘flee’. But as said before, the enemies in this battle are easy, you’ve seen them all before. Still, you will want to rush to the northwest as soon as the stage starts. Another opportunity to crack some valuable skills though, like Blitzkrieg, Berserk, Force Rise, Elec Rise, etc. After you defeat the final Demon Tamer unit, you will acquire the Devil’s Fuge plant. The Demon Tamer’s mock you however, so the party is unsure of how to feel going ahead.
You have time for one more event, and since I’m choosing the Atsuro route this time through I’m choosing his. For his friends password, choose on his handle ( 2 ^ 10 =1024). Actually 1023, since in programming..oh nevermind. Atsuro finds something out about the PSE Law. A chip installed into any technological device. But the UEM Field (Ultra Electromagnetic) is a super weapon that uses EM Waves. Could this be related to what the government is doing?
After the one event you choose, there will be only one event left. At Aoyama Cemetery, with Beldr.
Aoyama Cemetery – Beldr
The long awaited battle is about to begin. As Atsuro says, the Hero has the Devil’s Fuge, and is the only one who can harm Beldr. Before anything else, make sure you crack Mana Surge from Beldr if your main character is mp-based. Many enemy units are present, some you haven’t faced as enemies in battle before (Cait Sith, Vidofnir). The key is to leave at least a few of the weaker units alive. I’m not sure how many, but I left one unit alive for a while and he summoned them all. So the next time I just left the two Pyro Jack units and the Yuki Jyorou unit, but Beldr still summoned more friends. This leads me to believe it’s a time limit of sorts, so if you don’t hurry that second wave will be coming in. This is absolutely key, because watching the Cait Sith units run in and spam Media on Beldr is sickening. So hopefully you have Double-Hit + Basilisk / Evil Wave so that you can attack twice from long distance, avoiding a counterattack. Beldr should not last long with this strategy. Hero will then crack Mana Surge, which is perfect if he’s a magician like my Main. Beldr mumbles Loki’s name and then blows away. Everyone now has a three on their Death Clock.
Shinjuku
First thing to do afterwards is head over to Shinjuku for ???. Gigolo is here, wondering how you’re still alive after fighting Beldr. Tell him you found Devil’s Fuge plant. Turns out though, this is just the beginning. Beldr was one of the few demons to be crowned with the name Bel. These monsters are having a fight for superiority with the name Bel. Others include Belial, Jezebel, Belberith and Belzaboul. Gigolo says in three days time you’ll have to fight Belial which is probably the reason you are scheduled to die then.
Shibuya
Go to Shibuya to speak with Atsuro and Yuzu. Things seem kind of hopeless right now. Strangely enough it is Yuzu who is the positive one. Belial looms in three days and still no end to the lockdown in sight. Many emails after this, like seven of them. Answer them however you wish, save, and you will be on Day 4.
4th Day : Crumbling Reason
The lockdown has reached a fourth day. Time to read the new Laplace Mail. Really big things happening, like the SDF planning to kill Haru and claim it to be a suicide. Midori will also be ‘murdered’ by Demon Tamers. We’ll have to remember to save them both. But Keisuke flips out over Midori maybe being killed by humans. He leaves the party and his Death Clock changes to 1.
Many new areas to go to. I chose Atsuro to have him talk about our plight. Chances are, the SDF forces and the government won’t be able to stop the Demons. After this, go to Ikebukuro to see Midori. She’s going nuts, showing her demons to everyone and the public thinks she’s crazy. It’s clear you’ll have to protect her until you can get her to change her ways. Meanwhile, another Atsuro sceneff as there is a container with food and clothing. The stronger people are holding the elderly and young from the food. It’s sad. After this, the same scenes are available but now you can go see Azuma, a friend of Lady Amane from the Shomonkai. You can ask him many questions, about Naoya, the server, Bel’s Throne, Belial, etc. You also get to speak to the Shomonkai Founder. Ask him about Belial, known as the Holy Flame, an incarnation of the inferno. After this conversation though, you can meet someone else, but then it will be time to look for Midori.
Ikebukuro – save Midori
Time to save Midori. Only three members on your team, but you just need to go forth and smack one enemy around a bit, and then they’ll want to flee. Unfortunately, this battle is not so black and white.
But after not too long, guess who comes in? An old friend, we’ll say, and he flips out on the punks. Yama then comes forth and talks to him much like with Pazuzu and Kaido. Yama is a God of the underworld also known as Enma. This guy really has gone mad. The ‘enemies’ that were fleeing now have to take the southeast route, but send one of your allies in this southeast corner. Meanwhile, one or two allies can go over by Keisuke and kill off his demons (Bai Ze and Power). After the fleeing groups get close to the southeast, Keisuke will summon two Loa units with Vidofnir. Take these units out quick, because you’ll want everyone to gang up on Yama to take him out. Yama will basically kill anyone when it attacks, so you’ll need to be fast and having Evil Wave to resist counter attacks is a nice move (use Basilisks). Yama is strong against Fire and Lightning, so try to get someone with high magic to use Force or Ice Dance for 150+ damage. Yama yields a whopping 3000 EXP, leveling up even a high-leveled Hero.
Hard to imagine what has gotten into Atsuro’s friend. Kind of a sad situation though with the humans being saved being upset at the Demon Tamer’s that saved them. Events left over from before are still left over – I had Honda and Gin, so I went to Gin. Gin talks about his lover Aya. Offer to help him ask about Aya, and you can do so at Omotesando. New spots open up after this, so I went to Shibuya to see Atsuro. Atsuro has an idea to go to Naoya’s room with the Shomonkai, and you can offer to go in since you are related to Naoya. Maybe you could find some valuable source code there. A new spot with Midori popped up at Omotesando after this. A mob is searching for Midori, blaming her for all the demons that have sprung out. Sympathize with Midori and she’ll finally realize the error in her ways – but will want to join up with you and still fight Demons. She replaces Keisuke. Remember to give Midori abilities in the ‘Team’ menu.
Spend some more time looking for information about Aya. You will get a hint about a time along with the fact that you should meet Master Azuma. In two days at noon he is going to be at the Hills building and you can talk to him then. Speak to Gin a few times to let him know of this, and also to talk about the COMPs and how it’s strange the Shomonkai are willingly handing them out. After this, go to Azuma and just ask for Naoya’s things, even though it doesn’t sound like much. Now, time to go to Kannagi-Cho.
Shinjuku – Kannagi-Cho
As you get here, it will be time for a battle. Some Demon Tamer jerks are here bullying workers for money and food. You’ll have to take these candid fools out. Some abilities to crack here, with the key one being Battle Aura. If you don’t have Fortify or Blitzkrieg, get them too. Nothing too hard about this battle, though Battle Aura actually is a decent ability that will neutralize any weaker attacks to those leaders. Once you knock off the main Demon Tamer’s, the weaker units (if alive) will attempt to flee. Shouldn’t be too hard to stop them and still have time to make sure you can crack all the skills necessary, which aren’t many sadly.
After the battle, should have Wilder Afanc’s available. You can see Azuma, Shoji and a battle with Honda and Kaido. You may have already met with Azuma to ask for Naoya’s stuff, but if not it’s still here. Shoji meanwhile knows you are Demon Tamers, but has information on the lockdown and the role of Angels. Seems like they may be controlling the Self Defense Forces, the ones that ordered the lockdown to go after Demons. You can meet Shoji once more at Shinjuku to learn about the SDF Forces and the Angels that run them.
Suidobashi
Suidobashi is where we meet Kaido and Honda. You can choose to help the citizens flee, or just take out the attackers in Kaido and Honda. Nice abilities to crack here, so make sure to do so (Null Force from Pazuzu, Recarm from Kaido, ). Honda fortunately will appear in the east part, and attack a citizen that is right by an escape pod (the pods appear when the civilians can move). Kaido attacks first, but the citizen attacked should move towards you and you should be able to heal before Kaido gets a chance to kill them off. But Kaido has a tough unit between him and Pazuzu. Pazuzu has Chaos Wave, so he can attack from a mile away seemingly. The Media is annoying too. Needless to say, you will want to take out Pazuzu right away with Ice magic. Pazuzu attacks twice, with Mazan and will use Media quite often too. Kaido is weaker than you would think, and Honda‘s unit is pretty generic as well. Once you defeat Pazuzu the battle just rolls, but try to get Recarm and Null Force from Kaido’s unit. Fem Peri’s should be available in the Devil Auction now.
Now, it’s 17:00. Go to Haru and you’ll convince her not to commit suicide – the demon’s were here long before her songs, after all. Meet with Kaido after this, who calls you the justice freaks. The guy he is talking about has to be Keisuke.
Shibuya
Next thing to do is to meet Mari at Shibuya for a battle. A strange demon named Kudlak will sneak up on her (Kresnik). Mari will retreat through the park, so you’ll have to race towards her while she’s taking heavy damage. Fortunately, she’s quite talented herself and will heal herself and take out enemy units, all by herself. Still, you will want to get to her as fast as possible to give her some space to breath. Obviously the toughest enemy here is Kudlak. You are warned not to kill him, so finish off his Loa allies and then leave his unit be and defend when he attacks. His critical hits can take off a lot, so beware. Clear off the rest of the enemies so Mari can run off, and then follow her. Mari now has 1 day instead of 0 left. You will speak with her some more and learn that she really is Kresnik, destined to battle the fiendish vampire Kudlak. Turns out Kudlak is weak to a powder made from white amnion, but it was stolen from Miss Mari and soon enough Kudlak appeared, knowing that the item that can defeat him is not around. We need to find that bag of Mari’s.
Head to Kanda to ‘Look for Mari’s bag’. You won’t find it here, but it will open up a new area in Ueno where you can find the guy with the bag. Take it, and now you will just have Kudanshita open for a battle.
Kudanshita – Bugeikan
Here you will see someone in pain, talking about a police man and demon. As you get there, amazingly, a cop summons a demon and says this guy deserves the death penalty! It seems these cops have rebelled, feeling that they’ve been screwed being stuck in the lockdown while the SDF Forces get to be on the outside.
Some nice abilities to crack from these jerk policemen. Phys Rise, Diarahan, Anti-Phys, Mighty Hit, etc. The cops in the eastern part of the screen are easy to take care of since you appear right next to them, but don’t sleep on the citizen and cops in the far west. Two cops may gang up on a civilian here so try to dispatch a unit or two there immediately to catch that threat before it starts.
Shibuya
Afterwards, go to Shibuya to speak with Atsuro and Yuzu. It’s night time, so you go over the recent topics with Atsuro (Miss Mari, Shoji’s information, the system server, etc).
5th Day : Revelations
Beautiful scenery heading into the fifth day here. Talk a bit and that Laplace Mail comes in. At 12:00 Kudanshita there will be a body found drained of blood by Mari Mochizuki. Sounds like Keisuke might die from Kaido as well. Another busy day, to be sure. And ah, the sky is turning red? If you go to the Devil Auction you can now buy a Platinum Card, an upgrade from even the Gold-Level demons you were getting earlier.
Millions of places you could go here. Check out Kannagi-Cho to see a punk coming away with a COMP – tell him the truth and he’ll say a Shomonkai guy with squinty eyes and a black coat gave it to him. Talk to Shoji now to learn about how the Shomonkai are intentionally giving out the COMPs to get more Demons on the streets, in hopes of eventually summoning Belberith. Meet with the Shomonkai, both with the founder (to see an argument with Lady Amane) and then with Azuma to get Naoya’s COMP. Now check out Keisuke to learn about why he is continuing to punish those around Tokyo. Hopefully you can find the bag and give it to Mari otherwise she’ll be in trouble.
Ikebukuro – Sunset Boulevard
“Sorry kids, but you all have to die here”, says the SDF Soldier. They have become Tamer Captain’s. Many nice new abilities for you to crack here, like Null Mystic, Holy Dance, ‘Healing’, Ban Mystic, Drain, Might Call, etc. New enemies too though, like an Ym, Hanuman, and Orobas. Plus, the SDF Force soldiers are a nuisance. They will block many of your physical attacks, can heal at the beginning of turns in battle, and have a good defense against physical attacks. You will want to use ‘Dance’ magic abilities on them to put them away so you can get their valuable skills like Healing and Ban Mystic for example. Try to make a point to protect the northwest and southwest exits. After you defeat a few SDF Forces, they will try to flee. The southern exit in particular is cheap because one of the soldiers is stationed right by it, so you don’t want them to escape easily.
Many new choices to go to, but at 12:00 or 12:30 you need to go see Mari.
Kudanshita
At Kudanshita, you have Mari. If you didn’t give her the bag in time, she’ll die. The battle is then easy, since Kudlak doesn’t really care now that Kresnik is gone. Kudlak can be killed simply by anyone at this point. However if you gave the bag to Kresnik / Mari, then you have a shot. The other demons aren’t much to speak of, but you will need Kresnik / Mari to be the one to take out Kudlak. Not too much to ask, assuming you didn’t take out Kudlak the battle before like Mari advised. If you did take Kudlak out, you will have a much tougher battle on your hands. For abilities to focus on cracking, you should take a look at Bufudyne, Extra One, Null Mystic and Ice Repel. New abilities because you are fighting new enemies like Badb Catha and Orthrus.
It’s almost time for Kaido and Keisuke to clash. As you get there, you see Pazuzu and Yama fighting it out. Pazuzu takes out Yama somehow. Keisuke goes down for me here, though I imagine if you meet him earlier (which I thought I did) you can save him. Starting the battle off, you get swarmed by all the Mothmen. Take them out, and this should leave you with a few enemy units besides Pazuzu and Kaido. Obviously, the less enemies around for that the better. Pazuzu’s entire group is weak to ice, so plan accordingly. Bufudyne from the previous battle (and Ice Dance) can really mess Pazuzu up. It would help having someone with Chaos Wave or Evil Wave so that you don’t get counterattacked, but you can’t have everything. Kaido is the same as he always has been, high physical attack and hit points but he too can have his HP eaten up quickly with high level spells. There was nothing to Crack here for me so that helped the planning though there may be an ability or two here you might want to go out of your way to get. Pazuzu can now be fused.
Akasaka – Izuna & Fushimi
As you go to check on Izuna and the Akasaka Tunnel, you see demons close in behind you. Definitely Crack Zandyne and Force Jump. After a turn though, you see Izuna and Fushimi, and they have COMPs themselves. However after they summon the demon, they realize they cannot control it because they did not make a contract with it. So they are armed with guns that are weak, but have the ability to defeat the demon and be a demon tamer. Since they are weak, you will need to protect them, and you’ve seen this stage before (lots of isolated areas). After a bit, a demon teleportation device will appear in the southwest. You’ve seen them before, but they didn’t do anything earlier in the game. This one will have demons spawning. (Orobas enemies). You can close it off or just kill off all the enemy units. Once you get to Izuna and Fushimi, you should have no trouble routing these demons.
Nagati-Cho Station
But now, these guys know how to wield a COMP. Izuna speaks out and provides the open minded answer for the elite forces. You are taken to the subway platform by Izuna. Izuna tells you all the juicy details about the governments motives for the lockdown. A lot of this is obvious, as you can imagine what is going to happen to everyone within the Yamanote Circle. Long scene.
Afterwards you will have Honda, Shoji, Amane, Yuzu and Izuna available to see. Amane ‘meets you for the first time’ as Metatron’s subordinate, the angel Remiel. You are told about the fire demon Belial who will fight you tomorrow. Several more topics you will go over with Amane / Remiel. Check the Shomonkai Facility to hear from a Believer on his way out. He tells you that the Shomonkai worship a Demon, something you may have caught onto earlier. This guy also worked under Naoya, and he has some things to tell you about, though he is in the dark about plenty of it. But Lady Amane had a ritual peformed by Kuzuryu at an early age, so that may explain the previous scene. However you also here about how they brought in a ‘woman’ and the plan went much better – that has to be Aya. Izuna just tells you about Belberith, the demon that the Shomonkai worship.
Shibuya – Miyashita Park
Head to Miyashita Park at Shibuya. A Tamer Thug is running rampant, and demons show up too. Another chaotic stage of rushing to save the villagers. Great abilities to crack, namely Magic Yang (MP cost halved) but also Phys Rise and Ice Jump. Send a unit to the right side and have them clear out the area and stay, as reinforcements will appear over here. The others can rush the Thug beating up on the people. You will want to crack that Magic Yang from him (instead of his other good abilities). The 50% magic cost is too valuable to pass up. After that, you will have to usher this thug back to the teleport in the southwest, or just bring him along as you hunt these demons. Mostly Orobos and Legions.
Nagata-Cho – Kasumigaseki
Wow, looks like Naoya has showed up. Save, and head to Nagata-Cho. Naoya taunts you a bit, but you can ask him some questions and he answers them relatively well. He gives you credit for defeating Beldr, but summons some more demons for you to play with. You must defeat six demons before you move three times – tricky. But not really. Having a bird with Yuzu or some way to fly and have a move of more than 3 would help. But with high-level spells, you should be able to wipe these enemies off the map quickly. Also factoring in the enemy will attack you back, so if you don’t kill a unit in the first attack it’s likely you will as they counter attack.
Naoya is willing to open up more after this. He wants you to be King of Bel, leader amongst demons. Might be what you need to do to gain respect over the rest of the demons and lift the lockdown on Tokyo. Naoya also mentions he didn’t do this alone, he needed the help of a female who was talented with music. As you might have guessed earlier, it’s Aya, and you can ask Azuma of the Shomonkai if you want to know more. Talk with Atsuro and Yuzu for a bit at night, and read your emails. You get one from Gin, telling you about his demon Take-Mikazuchi.
6th Day – Decisive Moment
Time for the 6th day, the Decisive Moment. Fire in Hibiya outdoor concert hall, cause unknown. Victims include you and your party. This must be Belial (18:00). You can talk to Izuna for more information, Amane too. Talking to Shoji you learn that her mentor was 10BIT, the guy who was looking into the PSE Law.
Shin Megami Tensai Nocturne Devil Survivor
The Battle against the Morning Star, Lucifer
This battle is unlocked once you reach the final day on a plus game, traveling anyone’s path except Yuzu’s. This battle will appear in blue print under Nagato-cho after you defeat Belzaboul, but will disappear if you climb the Diet Building. Each time Lucifer changes attack stages his health and magic points fully recover, his defensive statistics increase, and his overall health and magic point values increase.
Tyrant: Lucifer Level: 99 Health and Magic Points: Unknown
Lucifer will not attack you until you attack him, so position your party accordingly. After the initial attack, he begins to summon teams of high-level demons. (Level 80 to 90)

Lucifer is strong against every element and nullifies status based attacks in this stage.
Maragidyne Attack All Tyranny
Mabufudyne Phys Jump Speed: Thirty
Mighty Hit Pierce
After sustaining sufficient damage, Lucifer will enter stage two.
Upon entering stage two, starting with his first attack icon, Lucifer will cast Megilodyane. Megilodyane is an almighty attack that requires no magic points to activate; it targets all of your teams. Megilodyane becomes progressively stronger with each use. After about three times it becomes Un-survivable, dealing 900 plus almighty based damage to everyone.
Lucifer is strong against every element and nullifies status based attacks in this stage.

Shin Megami Tensai Nocturne Devil Survivor After the Battle
Lucifer: haha… Belzaboul was doomed
No soul should possess your wisdom, strength, and beauty.
… Go Abel. Belberith will fall before you.
The Scarlet Snake is at your side…
Atsuro: Wh-What the hell was that!?
No one told me there’d be a monster like that!
Amane: The Morning Star, Lucifer…
The one who rebelled against god with the sin of pride…
I never even imagined that he would appear in this world himself…
But… you never cease to amaze me. I cannot believe you were able to claim, victory!
Atsuro: That’s right we beat him!
Okay… Let’s keep this up and beat the unholy crap out of Belberith too!
Lets go Seraph!
Strategies for Victory
Lucifer will not attack as soon as the battle begins, or at all until you attack him, so use these free moves to position your teams in a straight line in front of Lucifer, for counterattacks.
Even if you eliminate all of Lucifer’s health points in stage one or two, he will always keep one. This means you cannot rush him or I would have defeated him in one turn.
Lucifer’s attack range is infinite.
The pierce skill will not defeat physical repel if it is set as a characters skill, it will however defeat the physical drain and buffer skill set. Pierce only works on reflect spells, including all the Automatic Skills that happen when a battle begins.
When you revive a character, their turn icon is forced behind the current teams turn icon.
Used effectively this can give any team infinite turns.
At least one Tyrant class is required in this battle, to counteract Lucifer’s Tyranny skill.
Ignore the demons Lucifer summons; destroy them only during a counterattack. This conserves your turns, and you will need all of them. If you cannot destroy these demons with one or two spells your team is to weak.
Recarm for Infinite turns
You can only perform this technique on stage three.
The team that you decide will do all the attacking must consist of demons, and a team leader that all have agility higher than Lucifer’s. The leader however must have agility higher than Lucifer’s, but lower than the demons on their team. The demons should have the drain skill equipped, and the leader with the Deathbound skill. Do not equip the lead character with a skill set that reduces, absorbs, or reflects physical damage. The demons should use Drain while the leader uses Deathbound. The leader should be the last in battle to attack, just beating out Lucifer. The Deathbound skill will hit Lucifer’s physical repel, and kill the leader. The team that follows them should consist of any two demons equipped with the Prayer, Samarecarm, and Blood Wine skills. The leader should also be equipped with the Prayer and Samarecarm skills. Revive the previous team, pass this teams turn and repeat the process, using the Blood Wine skill to regain magic points as necessary. If done correctly Lucifer should never have another attack.
Shin Megami Tensai Nocturne Devil Survivor Second and third play through revelations
I choose to follow Naoya/Cain during my first play through the game.
I choose to follow Amane during my second play through of the game.
Upon retrospect, I should have done this in reverse.
To unlock Remiel, you must follow Naoya’s route.
To unlock the Metatron, you must follow and defeat Amane’s route in the game.
The Metatron fusion will become available after the credits roll.
To unlock Lucifer, all you must do is defeat him. This fusion becomes available once you create a Metatron angel. You can see Lucifer’s statistics by looking at the demons necessary to fuse Loki.
To unlock Loki, you must follow Amane’s route, and defeat him atop the Diet Building.
To unlock Bishamon, Koumoku, and Zouchou follow any route except Yuzu’s, and defeat each guardian in their respective temple during the final day.
Upon defeating the game for a second time, I decided to improve upon my Lucifer strategy.
Now that I have access to higher-level Tyrant fusions, I decided to try a “Tyrant lock”.
To create a “Tyrant lock”, just put a Tyrant class demon in everyone’s team. The Tyranny auto skill will infinitely push the opponents turns away.
The base strategy consists of the following.
Step 1: Position everyone directly in front of Lucifer.
Step 2: Attack him with the assault team only.
Step 3: Regardless of the damage Lucifer takes, he will begin to summon demons.
This will interrupt the Double up ability.
Step 4: Continue your attack with the assault team.
Step 5: You should have dealt enough damage to Lucifer to cause him to enter state 2.
Step 6: Once Lucifer enters state 2, he will immediately cast Megilodyane.
Step 7: Heal each team and pass their turns until the assault teams turn.
Step 8: Attack him with the assault team; they should be able to cause enough damage in two turns to make Lucifer enter stage 3.
Step 9: If you are using the “Tyrant lock”, just defeat the demons Lucifer summons, then concentrate on him.
If you are using the “Recarm” trick, just look for an opening to initiate it.
After the above revelations I made a few adjustments to my teams to better deal with Lucifer.
I replaced Remiel in team one with the Tyrant Lucifer.
Tyrant: Lucifer Level: 99 Health and Magic Points:
Drain Pierce Tyranny
Deathbound Phys Jump
Samarecarm Phys Repel
I replaced the goddess Amaterasu in team three with the Tyrant Loki.
Tyrant: Loki Level: 99 Health and Magic Points:
Drain Anti all Tyranny
Prayer Phys Drain
Samarecarm Dual Shadow
I replaced Shiva in team four with the Metatron angel.
Divine: Metatron Level: 99 Health and Magic Points:
Drain Victory Cry Blood Wine
Prayer Elec Drain
Samarecarm Force Drain
can say this is an exception:)
AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
THHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNKKKKKKKKKKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Save Haru battle sucks :( Those escort missions are tough your allies die quickly…
why you put drain?
it is a long drawn out battle, and I like to keep Hp and Mp high, Holy dance requires to much Mp. The effect of drain pays for itself. Lucifer ran out of Mp before I defeated him.
Thanks for the post above Seraph, good strategies compiled there. Obviously, I didn’t finish the guide for it. You should stop by when Devil Survivor II is out.
this game is hard.. i got to do much free battles to level
I agree, some battles are very challenging. It is an Atlus game though so it is not too surprising.
